If you're not worried about healthy, brown bears are a great breakfast. Kids love them.

Use crescent rolls, roll out one section into a tube and wrap it around a hotdog stick (the metal kind, or cut a thin, green branch off a tree and scrape the bark off the end with a pocket knife). Set a metal dish of butter on the grate over the fire to melt. Brown your crescent roll, dip it in the melted butter, roll it in cinnamon sugar, and enjoy!

Dutch oven cobblers are easy and great, just use hot coals from the fire, put some on the bottom and top of the oven.

I usually bake all the bacon on cookie sheet ahead of going camping, so one less thing to cook when camping. Also breakfast is fun including the cook when everyone places what they want for an omelette in a large freezer zip lock bag. (note may not be enough heat to cook veggies to be soft) Next place the zip lock bag in boiling water & boil until done. They are wonderful & no clean up as just eat out of the bag. (must use large freezer zip lock bags only to boil so it will not melt bag) If you freeze water in large containers then can use in cooler instead of ice gradually melting on everything. (note when freezing in large container like milk jug. Its important to leave lid off & don't fill to top but leave 3" space at top to expand. When frozen place lid on top & place in cooler so always have water to drink. May freeze other drinkings the same way but milk can get strange as separates. The foil wrapped dinners our family for some reason called turtles were loved as everyone made to their own liking with canned veggies or fresh. Best of all don't forget the some more's. M:smile: y favorite have added peanut butter on them. Some of the best memories our kids have are camping as nothing compares to being outdoors. Enjoy your trip!
