MFP is great but what would you change if you could?

I'd like a "search" feature of the food diary. Sometimes I look very hard for the right entry for something I ate and then I eat it later that month or next and I have to go back and find it again. If I could search my diary, I'd find the right entry that I used before really easily.

I'd like to have more than 1 name-change possibility. I don't want to start a new account and lose all my time/information just to change my name up.0

I would like to see a way to add a poll to threads. Babycenter.com has this feature and it's nice because you get a quick overview of what most people do and A LOT more people respond because it's so quick and easy.
So you could add something like:
Do you think that protein powder loses nutrients if you microwave it ?
a) yes
b) no
c) don't know
On babycenter you can add up to five answers to choose from, then after a user submits their answer it turns into a bar graph that shows how everyone else responded. You can also still comment if you want to describe your answer more like you do in a regular thread.

I'd like the facility to add a brief description to the Quick Add Calories bit. Sometimes I just don't know how many calories are in gravy, or a sauce or assorted veg and it's quicker to estimate. Ok not so good to do it a lot but when you are home cooking all the time it's necessary and would be good to know where the Quick Add stuff came from !0

If there was a place beside each meal that we could put our Blood glucose level. I use the notes section at the bottom but would like a place next to the meal that influenced my bgl0

i would -on occassion like to copy breakfast to dinner or lunch to dinner. Currently only allows you to copy meals breakfast to breakfast, etc. Just a little more flexibility is helpful.0

I'd want to get rid of the "You've earned calories" bs whenever you log exercise. It's like trying to say you get to reward yourself with food, for working out. Which is counter-productive IMO.
Well, truthfully, that feature doesn't do that for me. I personally KNOW I need to stay under 1480 at all times, and I usually try to shoot for the 1250-1400 range anyway...I kind of ignore the "earned" calories from exercise, but it's nice they are there if I do go a little over.
It's been working for me, as in a year of using MFP, I've not gained a pound -- and have lost or maintained what I had.
But, what works for one may not work for others.0 -
I would like for my past calorie budget to remain the same in my records when I change it. Say it's been 1700 for the past 3 months and today I'm changing it to 1800. I would like the past to stay accurate rather than change according to today. Better record keeping.

I hate when my logging days reset. If I forget to log, as long as I go back within 24 hours, that day should count...
This irks me too. There are days when I can't log, but I log the day I miss when I come back. This usually is because I am sick and the last thing I want to do is track.
I have been here for a while now and every time I see the 'logged in for x days" I write under it - for the 8th time in X years , or whatever.
I think everyone has mentioned everything else.
Better recipe builder.
Like button might be fun.
Notification of when someone replies to a post you wrote it.
Notification of when someone writes on your posts or profiles.
Net carbs without having to use a Chrome hack.
Of course, we start asking for these things MFP will turn into a pay site and we'll be forced to head back to Lose It, Calorie Count, Spark People or Fat Secret.0 -
A separate entry for calories burned doing daily activities and cardiovascular. I sing in a choir. We rehearse, and we sing for an hour. Singing uses your core muscles/diaphragm and you use alot of calories doing it. But....I have to log it as cardio as there is no other place to put it.0

For those commenting on changing recipes instead of having to delete lines and add the item over again, this is possible from the iPhone app. I would like to see it online though too.0

I would like to be able to set a separate daily calorie goal for days I work out vs. days I don't. I would like to have a 1400 calorie goal on non-workout days, and a NET 1200 calorie goal on workout days.
I totally agree with this. It woudl be nice to set my TDEE days up so when I consume more on workout days there is not these huge red number taungting me like I did something wrong.0 -

Dont know if anyone already said this, but when you click on 'complete diary' it says you will be X pounds in 5 weeks. I wish that you could have that as a fixed date/goal so 3 weeks into it, you know exactly your progress. The 5-week thing just become a bone for a dog after but never get.0

I think people should be required to pass a BASIC math and reading test before they're allowed to enter anything into the food database. Most of the entries were clearlymade by people with no more than half their wits about them.0

You should be able to customize your diary based on if you follow IIFYM or clean food.0

once you have searched for a food, and you click on it to choose it from the list of results, it appears on the right. click on the "nutritional info" link . That will pop up a window that displays all the stats.
But... that link wasn't always there, right? Is it new? Or newish?0 -
It is somewhat irritating that I need to go between several different apps in order to take care of both diet and exercise. It would be awesome if the site incorporated exercise information like jefit0

Definitely THIS!! Sometimes I make something a little different from one time to the next and it'd be so much easier to just edit the recipe, than to start all over new. (Unfort, I only use the webinterface)0 -
