    Christian rock

I listen to a very surprising amount of Christian rock, haha. My favorite band in the entire world is Red (treated myself to a Red hoodie for losing 5lbs :P ) . They're hard rock, and fun to run to.

If you've never heard them, here are a couple tunes from their shiny new album:

Enjoy! I'm curious to see if you like them :)

... seems I have to edit almost every post of mine today. geez...

I like it! It's driving that's what matters.

Cool! They're awesome, yet so unknown, which is sad. However, everyone who's into hard rock that I've introduced to them loves them! :)

How do you guys run to slow stuff like some of the stuff I am reading.. maybe I just listen to stuff that's too fast! I would not survive on the treadmill running to something slow :P

I'm with you I can't do anything to slow music

Same. Give me something really hard or clubbing music. I skip over some of my favorite slower songs when I work out because they don't work for me in that situation.

Website called rock my run, they interval/pace play lists, you can pick songs and play lists based on a desired tempo and music type ... I tried it a little but then realized I suck at keeping pace.

A lot of my favorites have already been suggested! But I would recommend checking out the website jog.fm

You put in your pace or mile time and it list tons of songs that have a beat that matches that pace, I've found some good ones that way.

If you have a smart phone I would suggest downloading Spotify. I love it, I look up a kind of song it it plays the songs that are similar to it. So I find one thats upbeat and run to the same tempo.

Pantera, Slayer!!!! Two of many great metal bands to run to!!

    YES!

Nice to see some metal fans. I can't run or workout without listening to metal.

OP - good choice with Satriani, but don't forget about Vai. "The Audience is Listening" is one of my favorite Vai tunes to get me going.

My songs are a mix of introspective stuff, some high energy stuff, some current tracks, with a little bit of "go get 'em." I find I go through all sorts of different feelings when I run...Current playlist includes:

    Coldplay- The Scientist, Fix You
    David Guetta- Titanium
Foo Fighters- Everlong, All My Life
    Fun- Carry On, Some Nights
    Gavin deGraw- Follow Through
Howie Day- Standing in the Sun, Perfect Time of Day
    Imagine Dragons- Radioactive, It's Time
    Jane's Addiction- Stop
Jason Mraz- On Love In Sadness, You and I Both
    Lumineers- Ho Hey
    Many Machines on Nine- Trains
Mumford & Sons- I Will Wait, The Cave, Little Lion Man
Of Monsters and Men- Little Talks
    P!nk- Try
Phillip Phillips- Gone, Gone, Gone; Home
Swedish House Mafia- Don't You Worry Child
    Three 6 Mafia- It's a Fight
Toad the Wet Sprocket- Walk on the Ocean
Train- 50 Ways to Say Goodbye
    Violent Femmes- Prove My Love

This may sound cheesy but I have found that songs from the Rocky soundtracks are great for running to. Any of the training montages are excellent.

Check out John Cafferty - Hearts on Fire from Rocky IV - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swo51-CG9Ss
