    Here is the list I've compiled so far. Of course there is no magic food but I am trying to include these foods prepared in a healthy way as often as I can.

    I suppose caffeinated beverages... If you wanted to make it a food I suppose you could freeze a block of coffee/diet soda and slice it into bread slices and then put a pickle in between with some Walden Farms syrup.

    Apricots: 15-23 calories
    Artichokes: 49 calories cooked
    Asparagus: 3 calories per spear

    Blueberries: 78 calories for one cup
    Broccoli: approx 7 calories per floret
    Brussel Sprouts: approx 8 calories per sprout
    Cabbage: 15 calories per cup shredded
    Cantaloupe: 51 calories for a cup of melon balls, 12 for a smallish wedge
    Carrot: 45 calories
    Cauliflower: 3 calories per floweret
    Celeriac root: 59 calories per cup
    Celery: 15 per cup chopped, 5 per stalk
    Cherries: 87 per cup, 3 calories for one cherry

    You get the idea. I concur with ice cubes. Certainly none of the berries and fruits are close to 'negative' - definitely not the tropical fruits like mango which are all north of 70 odd calories per serving.

    Fingernails. But only if they are your own. Coz, like, they are already a part of you so when you digest them you are burning calories burning stuff that was already part of you.

    You have to count other people's fingernails, though.

    ETA - if you eat someone elses, the other person should eat back the fingernail calories.

    Obviously some of you have missed the intent of the post. I never stated or implied that the list I supplied was ZERO calories. The OP asked for a list of "negative calorie foods" The OP asked for a LIST not opinions as to whether the entire concept of negative calorie foods is fact or myth. Although it is true that weight loss is a function of calories in minus calories out. Eating 5000 calories of bananas a day is probably not a good idea for MANY reasons. Likewise, from a nutrition perspective, 1000 calories of any of the fruits and veggies on the list is not the same as 1000 calories of junk food regardless of how strongly you want to argue the point. From my own personal experience I did not gain weight from eating too many bananas, apples, and zucchini. Likewise it is true people can lose weight by creating a calorie deficit while eating cr@p I would never eat. Choosing to eat more foods from the list I provided combined with lean protiens in GENERAL is better than eating a like number of calories of processed foods, fats, sweets, and junk food from a NUTRITION standpoint for SOME people. Not ALL people but SOME people. I do not know anything about the orignal poster or what he/she planned to do with the information I provided. It is possible that the OP wanted a list to include in a report for school that slams the entire concept of negative calorie foods. I simply provided a concise list of the information that was requested. In the same manner if someone asked for a list of senators that support same sex marriage - they are not asking for my opinion or asking for me to evaluate the whys and wherefores of what generated the question.     I meant a piece of lettuce with a jumbo cheeseburger or bell peppers on an extra large pizza. Definitely not raw and with low fat dressing of some sort.
