TDEE what is yours?

What is your TDEE and do you pay attention to it?

I just worked mine out and it is 2733. I want to bulk up so I got to add 10% on to this.

Has it worked for you?

My TDEE is about 2300. I am 5'3", 151 lbs, with 31% BF. I am in the process of losing weight with goal of 18-20% BF. I have been going -20%, and yes it is working.

I'm 5'6" 118-122lbs and my average TDEE is 2200. I eat 2000 per day for a buffer (not trying to gain or lose) but don't mind if I'm a couple hundred over every once in awhile.

Mine's around 2200 or so and yes I pay attention to it. I'm trying to maintain so it was important to figure out my TDEE.

    ETA: I'm 5'5'', 136 lbs, 29 y/o

My average is 2400, I have eaten 2400-2600 for the past month, dropped it to 1900 and starting to lose weight again

I lost weight eating 500 per day under my TDEE (which was variable as I was losing and trying to find the workout routine that worked for me, but 500 under was between 20 and 25% under--my current TDEE is about 2250), but I agree with jaz that you need to ask some bulkers about bulking. I got where I wanted to be going down and considered a minor bulk at the end, but by the time I finished training for a half marathon that I walked in February, my numbers were pretty much exactly where I wanted them to be, so not trying to gain.

My TDEE is circa 2100 and I am currently maintaining.

    33 years old, 5' 6" 140 pounds
  • Mine is 1545. I am 53 yrs old, 5'2" and about 100 lbs. This is not a lot of calories so I have to exercise if I want to eat anything out of my normal diet.

38 yr old 5'4" female and my TDEE is about 2100. I'm eating about 1600-1700 to lose. This has worked very well for me in comparison to eating 1200 and stalling out.

    125-126 lbs

    TDEE = 2113

I usually eat around 1900-2000 cals a day.

I am looking to maintain and have more muscle definition.

ETA: I should say I usually NET 1900-2000 cals a day. That includes a roughly 300 calorie workout.

Had a metabolic assessment done because I suspected a low metabolism. Turns out I was right. My TDEE is 1134 with a daily desk job. So if I want to be able to eat I have to workout a lot.

Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Basically what you would eat to maintain your current weight. Lots of calculators out there. I like this one: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/

5' 0" 112 pounds small frame TDEE 1,427 eat 1,000 or less a day or I don't lose. Have 17 pounds to goal. That would place me at the lower end of normal.

Far out that's hardly anything! I'm gonna have to have a rethink b/c I upped my cal intake but didn't take metabolism into factor... I guess I'll give it a few weeks before maybe lowering it again.

    Currently it's 1763 (20% drop included)

Are you sure that's TDEE? Sounds more like BMR (the calories you need to get by). That's almost 100 calories a day below my BMR and I'm 48, in menopause, 5'3" and 110. My TDEE is twice that, but I'm not sedentary. Even at sedentary, tho, it's much higher.

Mine is 2500. In November, I changed my calorie goal to 2500. This way I think in terms of my energy deficit rather than having a strict goal. I generally stay around 2000 calories a day, but sometimes I go higher, and once in a while I'm not as hungry and go a bit lower.

Depending on what calculator I use for BMR and maybe interpolating between playing around with the different activity coefficients I would calculate my TDEE to be around 2800-3050

Now if we make the assumption that 1 pound = 3500 calories and I do a mass & energy balance for the past 150 days that I've been tracking and lost 42 lbs, then my back-calculated TDEE is 2913.

So it looks like I'm the least special of all snowflakes

My TDEE for today (every day is obviously a little different, unless your days repeat exactly) is ~3,500 calories. 2,200 from my BMR and 1,300 from today's activity.

... and yes, counting my calories and eating less than my TDEE but more than my BMR always results in weight-loss for me.

    I just calculated mine...

On more strenuous days it is 2568
On just work days it is 2278

This is so shocking to me... I couldnt imagine eating more than that in a day now, but i must have done so in order to gain weight hahaha
