    I take a few Herbalife supplements and that is all.

    Herbalifeline - Fish oil - 2caps x 3 x day
    CoQ10+ 2 x day
    Multivitamin 3 x day
    Cell activator (increases nutrient absorption) 3 x day
    Total Control (Metabolizer - Green tea, ginger and few other goodies) 3 x day

    Only D religiously because my doctor yelled at me. I also track my iron in my log and occasionally take a supplement when I had a few bad days. I try to get the rest from food.

    Anyways, I've done a lot of research and for me to comment on each of the supplements individually would take me forever cause I don't type. I joined MFP last week but I've lost 145 pounds since I decided to take control of my health. My story is on my profile page. I started taking some of these from the beginning and have added since then. The dosages are based on my taking them twice a day instead of once a day, and are far below toxic levels. I can say I always have loads of energy, my metabolism stays hot and I'm freaking starving all the time. :)

    I keep my calories quite low, so to make sure I'm getting decent nutrition I do take supplements. I take liquid ones that are meant to be the easiest to absorb by my body. I take a multi, B-complex, and a calcium/magnesium/vitamin D. I also take cranberry pills as I'm prone to UTIs and fish oil whenever I haven't been getting fish in my diet.

    Every day, when I take them, I think of Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory telling Penny that buying vitamins is just ingesting the ingredients for very expensive urine, but I did do my research and bought types which are supposed to be absorbed well, so I hope it's not a waste.

    I take a good multivitamin, a thyroid complex that is rich in selenium and idodine (I have hasimotos's), CLA, Probiotic and Omega's

    Right now I take 1tblsp of InnerEco coconut kefir probiotic & Alive multivitamin. I am interested in fermented cod liver oil, butter oil, CLA & some B vitamins. I try to increase my magnesium by eating zuchinni. There are some others I'd like to try but I can't remember right now.

    I thought I took a pretty decent amount of supplements until reading this.

    You take over 2000 pills per day??? (I stopped counting when I got near the 2k mark)
    My serious question is "how?" How many hundreds do you take at a time? I just cant wrap my brain around this.

    You also listed the numbers as 100, 250, etc. (That's what I was counting up)
    I was really hoping I read that wrong.

    I don't take anything, although I should at least be taking a multi. :( I don't want to (won't) take 20 pills a day but when I start researching what I 'should' take it always seems like by the time I'm done writing down everything I'm up to 20 pills and I just say screw it and don't buy anything.

    I take a basic multivitamin and a 5mcg biotin supplement for hair/nails/skin. My nails are better than ever and I've noticed my hair is thicker too. I'm hoping it will help my skin a little as I continue to lose weight but the hair and nail benefits alone are worth it.

    If you want killer skin start taking vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid). Google it...It's listed with my supplements. Also biotin and pantothenic acid work together to metabolize protein. They would be essential vitamins for anyone doing low carb eating. :)

    On the skin, for topical stuff, highly recommend Olay Advanced Healing Intensive Lotion w/Vitamin Complex for the body, and Olay Regenerist products for the face & neck. Olay started out producing products to heal burns & their stuff, especially the Regenerist line (Consumer Reports said one of the best anti-aging product lines), work great. I was skeptical when I first started using it, but noticed improvement after just a couple of days. A few days later I actually had people asking if I'd had a face lift, & I get a lot of compliments on my skin. Even heard a lot of Hollywood ACTORS use it. Best of all is that you can actually FEEL the difference right away. Watch for the Buy One, Get One Half Off Sales, or buy them at Bed, Bath & Beyond with coupons.

    For anyone who has been fortunate to have good health--count your blessings! Supplements are a necessity for some of us. I had Lyme disease, and if it weren't for supplements prescribed by a Naturapathic Physician, I would not have been able to go back to work. Later, an Infectious Disease Specialist cured me with antibiotics over the course of two years! Now I take supplements to "undo" the "damage" that was caused by long term antibiotic use. I also want to reverse the cognitive effects from Lyme. So I take supplements that help the mitochondria and antioxidants (developed basal cell cancer--use of antibiotics precipitated this) I also took medication for high cholesterol that messed up my ability to maintain insulin levels, so I take something for that. Hot flashes, hormone level changes...take something for that. All these supplements I will list are helping me. I hope that it will help others by sharing this. I'm glad that Kevin mentioned it!
    Vitamin D 5000 IU's
    Reservatrol ( I like Pure Encapsulations)
    Chromium piccolinate 200 mcg. (to prevent type-2 diabetes)
    Dr. D'Adamo's Deflect-O (helps prevent "leaky gut" issues)
    Evening primrose Oil (I like the one by Metagenics because it has more bang for my buck--helps with brain cells!)
    Phyto-B to balance hormones (now its Ostaderm--FDA shut down the inexpensive "miracle" pill)
    Pure essentials concentrated fish oil (1 tsp)--lowered my cholesterol!!! My GOOD cholesterol went up!
    Deepak Chopra Endorphinate PR (as a pick-me up and destress (my job is VERY stressful! Home life offers not much relief either)
    I used to take CoQ 10 and Acetyl L-Carnitine HCl when recovering from Lyme as well as Magnesium, and Vitamin C, B-complex vitamins ( these are contraindicative to Lyme (the B-vitamins and C) They encourage growth of the spirochetes!!
    I follow a daily exercise program that works for me and strengthening exercise that Cassidy Phillips (Iron man!) developed through TP Therapy (for Fibromyalgia sufferers).
    I feel great--the only thing I am adding is a probiotic to counter what happened to my GI tract through the antibiotic use. Hope that this helps.
    btw--I get my calcium through coconut or almond milk, mozzarella or feta cheese and other foods that have naturally occurring calcium, and I follow the "rainbow diet" incorporated into Dr. D'Adamo's Eat Right For Your Type diet. These are LIFESTYLE changes.
