I am also anemic (iron deficient) It is hard to get the iron in. I recommend a supplement but green leafy veggies help (spinach, kale) and of course red meat)0
-
look 4 breakfast cereals with high iron0
-
raisins, shredded wheat, red meat, and spinach0

Take a supplement if you are seriously iron defficient. Make sure its a good one. I take Ferro-Gradumet twice a day (I'm Australian but I'm sure you could find something similar). I was diagnosed as severely iron defficient about 3 months ago. Have been taking this supplement twice a day with vitimin c and am slowly starting to feel much better0

baby spinach in your banana (or whatever flavor) protein smoothy. You'll never taste it and can load it up for low low cals.0

Kangaroo! & Spinach are the main two that come to mind.0

Floradix Herbal Iron Supplement works really well. A tad expensive but it'll boost your levels up.0

my nutritionist told me to be sure to have some vitamin C (citrus works well) with any plant based iron (dark leafy greens, edamame, to name a few) so your body can digest more of it more readily.0

I have the same problem. My doctor and the people who work the blood drives tell me I'm anemic, but don't tell me how much iron I should consume a day. I eat cereal with high iron, spinach, romaine and red meat all a few times a week. What more can I do? (Tried supplements once, didn't help at all)0

My dr told me I had low Ferritin levels.
I was directed to take 325mg of Ferrous Sulfate once per day for 6 to 12 months.0 -
DARK CHOCOLATE!!! Lindt 85% Cocoa Dark Chocolate (I believe 50g a day) will give you your daily requirement for Iron. If you are already difficient I would also take an Iron supplement. There are a number of supplements that will boost you back up quickly over a week then you can change your diet. Personally I have found it difficult to eat dark chocolate consistently, so I take a daily Swisse Iron Tablet.0

iron pill, spinach, liver(i know its an organ meat, so only eat that like once or twice a month)...i love liver and onions!0

Or try adding Tablespoon of molasses to hot cereal. Simple yet effective.
I even have a T of molasses straight after a hard workout. Who needs GU or a Powerbar Gel?0 -

Cream of Wheat has 50% of your DV in 1 serving.0

I am deficient as well and just so you know supplements can help but the capsules do NOT absorb the iron into your body as well as food does and they can make you constipated. red meat and loads of leafy greens. Put lemon in your water or salad dressing bc vitamin C is necessary to help absorb the iron (according to my doc).0

Oh and this hasn't already been mentioned by my Doc also put me on birth control (Yaz) specifically so I could skip that TOM. This tends to be one of the reasons why females are more prone to iron defficiency and not losing all that blood can make a big difference.
Just another idea0 -
You also need vitamin C. True story. Here is one easy way to get your iron up. Get yourself a nice breakfast cereal, one with plenty of iron. Say, shredded wheat or frosted mini wheats. They work as a nice snack with out milk. Have a small bit of Vitamin C rich juice with a serving of this cereal once or twice a day. Once you get your iron levels back up, maintain it. Pay attention to your iron intake and make sure you get a little vitamin c with meals.0

To you smart alecs saying "google", why don't you go and GOOGLE yourselves eh?0

I love mini wheats Very high in iron! 24 pieces is 50% of the recommended daily iron.0
