I'm in a household with family members who have little to no interest in eating healthy so we generally have a lot of food that is tasty but not healthy and we generally have a lot of salted snacks, cookies, pastries, etc, on hand.

I just have to use a lot of will power and try to make sure we always have an amble supply of healthier choices.

Anything with high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners (DH gets to break this with his diet soda regime...)

    Anything "Lite".

Any junk food in an open container (closed containers I can ignore...)

Anything calorie laden that isn't worth the calories.

    1. Foods that are trying to be substitutes for other foods but don't taste as good as the real thing (i.e. turkey bacon, soy "meats", margarine).
    2. Eggnog
    3. V8 Splash
    4. Eggplant
    5. Sardines

These things are gross and therefore aren't allowed in my home. Everything else is fair game.

P.S. Oreos and donuts are my weaknesses. They are constantly in my home, but not so constantly in my belly anymore. It's work, but it's worth it! :)

    2. Chips

    4. Jalapeno Poppers or other quick microwave junk that's /not/ like a calorie conscious meal.
    5. Pepperoni

It's sad because all of that is in my house now since my brother moved in..I've been pretty good though!

If it has trans fat it is for sure not coming into the house.

If you consume dairy or red meat, I've got some bad news for you.

The only reason why I'm doing this is because I have never thought about it in this way before.

& honestly, I'm worried that this will trigger some sort of binge!

    (in no particular order:)

    1) Ice Cream - any kind, if I had a choice I'd go for any kind of soy or coconut-based pint, gone in one setting

    2) Oreos - I tried buying the small travel packs, gone in a couple of days

    3) Cookie dough

    4) Doritos - I don't binge on these very often, but when I have I don't stop.

    5) Cold foods - This is weird, but like leftover macaroni straight from the fridge is the best =P

3....... yep you get the idea.

Willpower. I'm not the only one in the house, there is my son & hubby. They can eat whatever they want, it's their choice. We have a BOX (12 packets inside) of oreos they can eat. I dont touch them. I'd love to...but I know I wont. Willpower. Just cause they are there.... don't mean I have to eat them. Hubby has ice-cream all the time. I have my frozen yogurt instead. Those kids popsicle makers come in handy. Buy some yoghurt, fill em up & freeze. Simple. 65 cals of yummy cold goodness that lasts longer then ice-cream any day & has chunks in it of fruit.

Just remember......... you dont HAVE to eat it just because it is there.

I can't believe how many people ban stuff that's actually really good for you. Grapefruit, almonds..... seriously its no wonder some of you got fat.

My homemade spicy pretzels (seriously-I could eat a cookie sheetful)
    My mom's chocolate chip cookies
    Bruschetta

Luckily those are all things I have to go out of my way to make (or ask my mom to make!) so it is pretty easy to avoid them.

Grapefruit actually helps with weight loss. You should learn to love it....try ruby grapefruit instead. I always hated it. Now I love it.

    Nothing is banned.

I more or less eat everything I used to - just not in the quantities I used to.

I, somewhat sadistically, like to torture my willpower to make sure it is strong enough to survive. :)

I have a package of mini-Nutter Butters (my favorite cookie) two feet from me right now - they've been there for a week. :)

Barbecue potatoe chips, any kind of licorice, jujubes, good and plenty, taco chips. When they are in the house I pour laundry detergent on them if I decide to put them in a plate. This way I can't eat it. That is sick! Isn't it?
