I always eat to munch protein

I hope you're not going by MFPs calculations... You need to do your own

I think MFP knows more than the random member

This is wrong. As with everything, the consequences of 'too much' are bad. 'Too much' protein is seriously bad for your kidneys, as well as other things.
Sorry, but what you're stating is incorrect.

There is absolutely no evidence that links a high-protein diet with kidney or other organ issues. None.

The ONLY way too much protein could be bad for your kidneys is if you ALREADY have kidney function impairment.

That being said, for those of us that exercise heavy, there's rarely a requirement for more than 30% of our dietary intake from protein. It is recommend those involved in strength/weight-training get approximately 1g per pound of lean mass a day, yes.

But again - "too much" protein is not bad for your kidneys, or anything else, without a preexisting medical condition.

I posted a link to an article that explains the maths to do your own calculations. MFP grossly underestimates protein needs.

I'm pretty sure I get all the protein I need from the beans and brown rice I consume from my strictly vegan diet

Excess protein will be turned into fat so try not to go too far over.

In an overall caloric deficit? Tell me more about this calorie wizardry.....

Yes tell us!! We NEED this information now!! Our future depends on it!!!

    This is WRONG WRONG WRONG.

excess protein does NOT turn into fat.
Very true. Only if you have an overall caloric surplus (greater intake than TDEE), can it be "turned into" fat. And then ANY macronutrient can be stored as fat. No surplus = no fat gain.

Excess protein CAN be converted to glucose... so those with diabetes/insulin-resistance should have a moderate protein intake... But without an excess of calories it simply will not become fat.

No such thing as too much protein. :)
Too much protein is only bad if you have EXISTING kidney problems

Me neither.......wish people wouldn't make such sweeping statements without the evidence to back it up. OP I hope you have the sense to pick out the 'good' information you're going to get from your post and ignore the cr*p

I would be more worried about my sodium than protein, yours is extremely high on some days.

    Yep. Sodium adds fat.

What? No! Are you trolling right now?

Excessive sodium causes high blood pressure and fluid retention.... Short term "weight" gain which is most likely water, but not FAT.

Fat is caused by a calorie surplus.

Since (of the three) only my statement can be backed with evidence, as it's the only correct one:

http://www.nutritionandmetabolism.com/content/2/1/25 - (This is an exhaustive review of 111 various studies and papers on protein intake and renal (kidney) function.)
Conclusions: "Although excessive protein intake remains a health concern in individuals with pre-existing renal disease, the literature lacks significant research demonstrating a link between protein intake and the initiation or progression of renal disease in healthy individuals."
The ONLY studies that have even shown an association between renal impairment and high-protein diets are 1) epidemiological (observational studies, which cannot show causation) and 2) with subjects who already had renal impairment.
