    Another 13 on the books---so glad that my gym finally (mostly) fixed the bikes and I can ride without time limits or having to wait for another bike to open up!

    April goal: 100 miles

    I am biking the C&O Canal in September (5 days)and walking/running a 10 k in August for the Livestrong Challenge( i usually bike) It has been about 2 years since I did a 5 day ride so I am getting ready for this ride and walk/run by doing one main thing ..get back in shape.

    So I am doing a couch to 10k program at the gym on the elliptical 3 times a week and setting goals for weekly biking both at gym and on the rail to trail in my backyard.

    4.41 miles on the bike at the gym today
  • I'm in week 9 of cycling at least 30 miles per week (my goal was to get fit by my 50th birthday in a few months).

    I have managed to cycle to work and home again (5 miles each way) every Mon, Wed and Fri and on two of those days I start at 7am so have been setting off really early and enjoying the quiet roads and sunrises. I have also managed to keep it up on a week off and have done two 21 mile rides and a 13 miler at the weekend.

    I've been loving it and can now get up the hill near home at 8-9mph as opposed to 4-6 when I started (I have a bike computer).

    I've also taken up bike maintenance and have been enjoying changing my tyres (made a massive difference to my speed) and fixing my brakes.

    I started at 184lbs and one day was down to 179 but today I'm 181 and missed my weekend ride because it was way too windy today, it'd have been not fun so I didn't bother.

    I'm in tomorrow at 7am and am looking forward to using my fab comfy saddle that I took off my old bike today and put it on my new one - I'd have needed a bike shop for that in the past. Eventually I'd like to cycle every day but at the moment I still ache on the day after a ride so it makes it not fun but someday....

    **I revised my goal for two reasons. The first reason being that this goal is much more doable with the crazy month that I have. The second is symbolic of the 328 miles that I will be riding during the American Cancer Society's Pan Ohio Hope Ride at the end of July.

    Count me in! I use my exercise bike....so it'll all be inside. I always go for 25 minutes, so that'll be the easiest thing to log. Since I'm just joining, I'm going to say count me in for 4 days a week.....Hopefully I'll do more but I tend to slack off & get lazy. Maybe this will get me motivated!
