Weight loss is not complicated. Consume less than you burn= win. Why do people insist on complicating things?

Weight loss isn't complicated, sure. But being healthy requires more than a calorie deficit.

    Meh.
Ridden with Broscience thats been debunked already.
Good article for the beginner though.

To "Restart" a slow metabolism all you need to do is eat more.
    Simple stuff.
If you eat below TDEE its fat loss.
If you eat too low you plateau eventually and need to eat more.

The BS about not eating carbs at night is simply BS.

    ftw

If you eat carbs at night they are likely to just turn into fat since you aren't burning them off.
But everyones different......... some people can eat a tub of ice cream and never gain weight. Need to just figure out what works for your body.

Great Article! I saved it in a word document. On another note. What does" bump " mean. I see that people are always "bump" posts. What does it mean?

I haven't read all 9 pages of replies, but I can't believe anything this author says when he claims Atkins is a zero carb diet. Atkins allows vegetables from day one. Vegetables are carbs. The ignorance of this fact is either because the author doesn't know any better (therefore has not done research) or because they do know, but want to misrepresent Atkins, etc., which seems to be the norm. I'm no fan of Atkins, but I did read his book (which also has a lot of pages devoted to why other diets are wrong), and tried the plan for several months, so I do know what I'm talking about.

Just talk about your plan and why (you think) it works instead of disparaging other diets/plans.

THANK YOU Dave for sharing this very informative article. I have been "stuck" with my weight loss for several weeks now and this article really explains what I need to be doing. Thanks again!
