Fat flush water

i t this on my facebook page... though i haven't tried it yet, i plan to and though...hmmm seems like a tasty way to flush fat away and get in some more water and vitamins and nutrients. how you all like it and if anyone has used this before, please post results.

FAT FLUSH WATER !!!

You should drink at least three 8 oz glasses per day, they say the longer it sits, the better it tastes. You can eat them as well but they are intended as flavoring and still work, so that is a personal choice. The Vita...min C turns fat into fuel, the tangerine increases your sensitivity to insulin, and the cucumber makes you feel full. Try it for 10 days and see what you think!

Ingredients per 8 oz serving

Water
1 slice grapefruit
1 tangerine
½ cucumber, sliced
2 peppermint leaves
Ice – as much as you like

Directions
Wash grapefruit, tangerine cucumber and peppermint leaves. Slice cucumber, grapefruit and tangerine (or peel). Combine all ingredients (fruits, vegetables, 8 oz water, and ice) into a large pitcher.

Stir & Enjoy!

This... no. Well, yes, because it's a tasty way to get water into you, but it's not flushing fat, it's just hydrating you. Cucumber and mint are mild diuretics so you might drop some water weight.

My favorite thing to drink in the summer is water with cucumber, mint, and lime, because it's delicious and refreshing. But sorry, not a miracle weight loss solution.

You cannot "flush fat away" with citrus water. You lose fat by creating a calorie deficit. This will just hydrate you and maybe reduce bloat.

Very honestly, there is no way that you can flush fat. You have to metabolize it, and most of the by-products are exhaled, not excreted in urine or feces. Remember Susan Powter and her motto: breathe in oxygen, breathe out fat. There's truth to that.

If it was that easy to "flush" fat away, why would all of us be wasting our time exercising and such!!!

you can't flush fat out of your body. it's your body's energy store, like an extra fuel tank. the way to get rid of it, is to use it as fuel. That means eating less than you burn off (but not too much less, because too big a deficit for prolonged periods of time results in your body deciding to burn off muscle mass instead, amongst other problems) so your body can use fat to make up the shortfall in energy.

anything that implies you can lose fat by sweating it out, flushing it out, pooing it out, or anything like that, is a total gimmick.

regarding hydration though - staying hydrated helps with so many things in your body, for some people being adequately hydrated helps with appetite control (i.e. knowing when they've eating enough and avoiding overeating), and so drinking lots of water can help with fat loss that way. But it's not going to be flushing away any actual fat.

This will do nothing but hydrate you.

Water with some stuff in it will not get rid of any fat. Fat doesn't just get flushed away when you drink some flavoured water. If it did, we would all be thin.

Hard work gets rid of fat.

:blushing: hi everyone... i didn't mean to be misleading with the title of this drink. this is what drink is called, BUT i was not attempting to push a "miracle drink" but a tasty way to hydrate. as far as the "flushing fat" part, as stated in the original txt, the vitamin C aids in the metabolizing of the fat, and increases your sensitivity to insulin...again all aiding in metabolizing fat. maybe a small part, but step by step. i pray no one reads this and thinks no exercise and correct diet plan is neccessary for overall health.

this is just a way to get in water with the benefits of fresh citrus fruits without added sugar, salt, artificial sugars like most additives we purchase to add in our water to add flavor.

Natural, pure ingredients to perk up water. Happy health to all. Be blessed.:flowerforyou:

Water isn't a magic diet supplement. Your body needs water to perform a number of essential functions, and cleansing your body of unwanted materials is one of them. Fat deposits on the body can be resilient and tough to eliminate, but lifestyle changes, including a reduced-calorie diet and regular exercise, can help you achieve this goal.

    Fat Breakdown
When the body taps its fat deposits to produce energy, the triglycerides in the fat cells are removed. These are then broken down into glycerols and fatty acids and are absorbed into your muscle tissue and internal organs, where they are broken down even further through various chemical processes. The products of these chemical processes either go for use as energy in the body or they are waste products to be removed from the body, according to the Mayo Clinic.

    Role of Water
Water is the vehicle used to remove these waste products from the body. The leftover materials of fat breakdown are then filtered out of your organs by water. The water carries these byproducts to your bladder, and they are then expelled from the body through your urine.

    Drinking Water
Water needs to be brought in throughout your day to keep you hydrated. You also need water in your system to facilitate the breakdown of fat cells. In general, the Mayo Clinic recommends consuming eight to nine glasses of water every day. You may need more water than this if you exercise during the day, which can increase the amount of water lost. Drink consistently throughout the day to continuously replenish fluids lost through your urine and your sweat.

    Considerations
Drinking large amounts of water won't clean fat deposits from your body. You need to approach fat and weight loss by making lifestyle changes that can be maintained for months and years, not just days and weeks. Exercise most days of the week and adjust your daily diet so that you are consuming fewer calories than what your body burns in a day -- this will trigger the use of fat cells to provide energy, leading to weight loss.

Vitamin C is the secret to burning fat in citrus fruits. This is because the vitamin C reduces fat’s effectiveness and can dilute the fat so that it exits the body.

Good sources of vitamin C citrus fruits include grapefruits, oranges, limes and lemons just to name a few.

Try to get three servings of fruits a day and make some of these citrus fruits.

There are many veggies high in vitamin C that will also give you the same fat burning benefits. These vegetables include broccoli, cabbage and celery. Veggies also offer high fiber content which is also beneficial in weight loss.

    Research Study
In a study performed at San Diego's Scripps Clinic, three groups of overweight ate the same meals. One group had grapefruit before meals, one had grapefruit juice, and the third had neither grapefruit nor grapefruit juice. After 12 weeks the fruit eaters lost an average of 3.6 pounds, the juice drinkers lost 3.3 pounds, and the citrus-free group lost an average of just .5 pounds each, according to a report from BBC News.

    The Insulin Connection
Citrus fruits might help to lower levels of insulin, which helps the body to metabolize sugar. When the body metabolizes sugar efficiently, less of it is stored as fat. An excess of insulin in the body causes hunger and cravings, according to BBC News.

    Citrus and Flavonoids
The flavonoid naringenin found in grapefruit and oranges might may help prevent weight gain and aid the liver in burning excess fat instead of storing it. It is also might correct insulin resistance and help the body maintain a steady metabolism, according to Science Daily.

    Lifestyle
Though it might help, eating citrus fruit alone is not enough to help you reach your goal weight. Eat a moderate, healthful diet and get plenty of exercise. These are your greatest tools in the battle against excess pounds.

    Warning
Grapefruit can interact with some medications. Check with your pharmacist or doctor about whether you can eat grapefruit.

My favorite part of the study: it wasn't controlled for calorie intake:
Although not measured in this study, calorie
intake can be affected by eating grapefruit. Grapefruit is relatively
large in volume and low in energy density and could
    potentially change short-term food intake.

    Function
Peppermint is one of the oldest types of herbs used in natural medicine. Traditionally, the leaves go in teas to help soothe the stomach and relieve pain in the body. Peppermint oil has topical uses to relieve joint and muscle pain. The website Medline Plus says that peppermint is also sometimes used as a stimulant to help burn calories and increase the metabolism.

    Cucumbers
While a balanced, low-calorie diet is the best way to lose weight, certain food pairings can supercharge your metabolism and may help you burn fat. Lemon juice and cucumbers is one such combination -- and there are other food combos that can also act as fat burners. "Different foods stimulate the body's fat-burning mechanisms in different ways, so combining the right foods can elevate fat burning," says Elizabeth Somer, a registered dietitian and author of "Nutrition for Women."

    Lemon Juice & Cucumbers
Cucumbers are high in sulphur and silicon, two trace minerals that may help the body burn fat, according to Somer. And because cucumbers are high in water, they prevent bloating by acting as diuretics. "It may sound counter-intuitive, but foods with high water content prevent water retention and bloating that can make it appear that you have a big belly," Somer says. Adding a squeeze of lemon juice to a cucumber salad or plate of sliced cucumbers can stoke your body's fat-burning furnace. Lemons are purported to increase metabolism, which generates heat in the body. As your body heats up, calories and fat dissolve. Plus, lemons are highly acidic. Acidic foods may aid fat breakdown, according to Somer.
    Fish & Almonds
It may sound strange to fight fat by eating fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, but these healthy fats may help boost your metabolism and fight disease. The protein in fish also helps stave off hunger and prevent overeating, which can keep fat from ending up on your hips and rear-end. Salmon is one of the best sources of omega-3s. To improve its fat-burning properties, baste the salmon with lemon juice. Besides raising your metabolism, Somer notes that lemon juice helps unlock the flavor of fish. Add more fat-burning by sprinkling sliced almonds on top of the fish and lemon juice before serving. In a study of obese and overweight people, those who ate about 3 oz. of almonds daily, lost more weight over 24 months than the no-nut group. Nuts are a good source of alpha-linolenic acid, which may aid metabolism of body fat, according to Somer.

    Chili Peppers & Water
Chili peppers are loaded with capsaicin, a compound that heats up the body and burns calories and fat. Ginger, curry powder and a few other spices also contain this fat-burning compound. Wash the hot peppers down with water. In a study published in the "Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism," drinking about 17 oz. of water was found to have a thermogenic effect, which raised the metabolic rate in normal-weight adults by 30 percent. Water also helps burn fat by reducing cravings and filling you up with a zero-calorie beverage. Drinking a glass of water before eating can reduce hunger and aid weight loss.

    Tips
To accelerate fat-burning, Somer suggests eating six small meals a day. This eating schedule will help keep blood sugar steady and boost your metabolism. Cardiovascular activity, such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling and swimming, will keep your metabolism revved up for several hours afterward. Physiologist Cedric Bryant, Ph.D., American Council on Exercise, says, "Adding muscle mass raises your metabolic rate, allowing you to burn up to 70 extra calories per day." By eating the right combinations of foods, along with a healthy dose of exercise, you can turn your body into a fat-burning machine.

This is a great way to get enough water each day.
I also take the fruit and blend it and have a breakfast drink that jump starts your day!
I tried a little ginger as well, and love it.
I faithfully exercise 1-2 hours at least 5 days a week, eat 1200 calories or less everyday, and struggle to loose weight, so I look for any sensible way to help that process along.
    Just keep pounding!
