Anyone tried these with old fashioned rolled oats? I have those on-hand and just don't use much quick oats. I tried some no-bake cookies with rolled oats and they didn't really work very well so I'm afraid I need to stick to the quick oats for the no-bake stuff. I'll do that if I have to but was just wondering if anyone had the answer to this one.
Thanks for the post!0 -

Just get the old fashioned oats and chop them finely on a chopping board, or in a food processor (just pulse) till you get the required size0 -

Ready in 45 minutes
Makes 8 servings (I get 9 out of it)
2 cups quick cooking oats
½ cup natural peanut butter (I like to use crunchy for added texture)
4 scoops protein powder (recipe says vanilla or cookies & cream work best)
1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
½ cup water
1. Knead all ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Line square baking pan with wax paper. Spread dough into pan using a spatula. (I find it easier to use my hands so I can press it in pretty good. Makes it like Cliff bar texture.) Optional: Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on top of dough.
3. Freeze for 30 minutes.
4. Remove from freezer. Cut into bars. (I store them in snack size Ziploc bags for an easy on-the-go snack. I like to eat them before the gym.)

I made them per the recipe, froze them, cut them, stored them in the fridge. I went to grab one tonight and they are mushy! What did I do wrong?
Maybe your protein powder scoop is smaller than the OP's. It would be good to know the measure of protein powder in cups.
Can't wait to try these. I'm not crazy about the store-bought protein bars I've tried. Plus, they are expensive!0 -
Love love love,so easy so good, the only problem is i could eat all at once .havent but i sre would like to0

Mine have just gone into the freezer.
Note to self, if something looks too sticky to knead put some extra water ready instead of sticking your hands in and then having to try and put an extra 1/4 cup of water in the measuring jug with it all over your hands.
Also put your paper in the pan before hand as the mixture firms up quite quickly.0 -

Oh! I can't wait to try making these, they same like a good breakfast on the go. I usually don't like protien bars at the stores either, but I'll like to try making these for the family. As they don't really eat breakfast because they got to go to work.0

Mine are still sticky, had to leave them in the freezer for ages, thinking of putting them in the oven.0
