hi...as they all said get a DR involved....when my periods got heavier, I went in and they did find an issue, and fixed it, again when I had unusual vaginal bleeding (I had a hysterectomy years ago so I shouldn't have any bleeding at all)...was sent to a specialist who quickly took care of the problem....in both cases, it was NOT serious, just a nuisance...but best to check with a DR anyway.....

Please don't try to get answers from here as to what might be going on. Go and call you doctor or even a RN at the hospital and see a professional asap.

At your weight and height I would be really concerned about diabetes or thyroid issues. Talk to your doctor. It isn't right. Take it easy until you are able to be seen.

You should see a doctor. No one on the internet is qualified to give you medical advice on a forum.

This. Even those of us that are in healthcare cannot diagnose you online. Please see your doctor.

I read up on the pcos symptoms but wouldn't I have to develop it as a teen? I am a mother of a 4 year old little girl..had her at 19 years old..normal pregnancy

One pcos symptom says upper body obesity..I am a pear..carry most of my weight on lower body..I highly doubt I have that. I will be going to the doctor for sure though so I can put my mind at ease. Thank you all.

Thank you..I had decided to call first thing on Monday..so I will definitely do that. I just get anxious easily and look for advice and answers quickly. I know my weight loss has got to be why..something that crossed my mind was maybe it is due to me really pushing myself harder everyday with my exercise but I'm not sure since I don't hurt myself or do anything I know I can't handle. Thank you for your replies.

TMI for many I'm sure, but perhaps it might comfort you to know until you can get into the OBGYN that when I first began exercising vigorously, my periods became much heavier and longer for a while. Eventually they went back to normal - but I honestly have no idea if the two things are related or not. Just wanted to share my experience. I hope everything turns out alright and I'm glad to know you're calling the doc a.s.a.p. Good luck!

Weight loss and exercise can definitely make your reproductive organs do crazy things. My periods are usually as tame as little baby kittens, but this month I significantly increased the intensity and frequency of my work outs and, sweet mother of mercy, this period attacked me like a full grown lion. It was a massacre. Very painful. Blood everywhere. LOL

It's happened to me before, and it goes away when my body adjusts.

Good luck with your doctor's appt. :)

So true - try asking friend or family members in the same area for a GYN recommendation. I always found that is the best way to find a GYN you are happy with. And don't put this off, call on Monday morning. Even as a RN, over the internet, I would have no idea what to tell you, so as u are concerned, get a doctor involved.

    Agree. I'm also an RN.

Hi everyone..just an update..I was able to see my doctor today. I don't have pcos or anything wrong for that matter. He just told me that with my weight loss my body is just changing and it's okay..he told me to keep doing what I'm doing because the weight is coming off good. Thank you for all your replies.

I'm so glad to hear everything's fine. :)

Unfortunately I think this is one of those things that's fairly common but people rarely talk about. It can definitely be kind of scary.

Don't worry, your body will adjust eventually!
