To eat or not to eat: Philly Cheesesteak Sandwhich and Fries... I'm having a rough day. :grumble: Feeling the need for something greasy.

Do it, but eat half--- and log it! Gotta allow urself "normal" food. And also, don't just eat because of stress. Eat it if you're actually hungry....0
-
Don't do it! Stay strong! Or make someone else get one and just have a bite. That's my favorite trick0
-
DO IT if you need to. But Just have half0
-
I agree with most of the posts - eat it, but have a smaller portion. Philly Cheesesteaks, depending where you get them, aren't necessarily all that bad. Just make sure you log it. Maybe do a little extra exercise, get some endorphins to help with your bad day. :flowerforyou:0

I agree! Have a half or even or quarter of it. If you deny yourself your craving, you might end up binging and undoing all of the work you have done so far.
Remember - everything in moderation, even moderation.
Cheers
Emme
Hope this helps :flowerforyou:0 -
DON"T.....simply because you had a bad day...you dont' want to train your brain or body that bad days = greasy bad for you food.
You do need to eat something "normal" on occassion- but not because you have a bad day its not a good habit to get into.0 -
DON'T DO IT!!!!
I lived in Philly for 4 months during college and gained 15 lbs. thanks to cheesesteaks! 3 years later I'm still working them off!0 -
Try and see if it's because of your day or if you really crave it. Try going out and doing something for about 20min. If you're at work, walk to another part of the building. Just do something to get your mind off it. If you can't, then have half now and save the other half for later, like tomorrow. Log it and see where you're at. Maybe do any extra workout or make the nutrition up at dinner0

Get the chicken Philly and eat half. If you think about eating the other half . . .put it in your back pocket instead. That is where it will go if you eat it.0
-
Thanks guys. Lunch is in 1 HOUR and 7 MINUTES! I'm definately going to try to fight the cravings ... Wish me luck0

I agree with this. I say don't just because you wanna do it because you are having a bad day. It's great to have those kind of days where you give into your craveings but not because you are having a bad day. Because you deserve it. Or because you want it that bad. Good luck!0 -
Go for it! Is it the BEST thing to eat? No. But, hell, if you are craving it, why not?
440 cals isn't bad and 21g fat seems like a lot... But, so is 2tbl of Peanut Butter.
Try not to eat the entire thing and just eat a few fries. Maybe throw down a little side, green salad before you eat the sandwich to fill up a bit.0 -
If you don't indulge once in a while you will torture yourself causing more stress wich holds on to more fat! I say go for it and be good the rest of the week!0

THERE ARE 2 QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK
1. DO I WANT THIS BECAUSE IT IS REALLY GOOD OR IS IT BECAUSE IT WILL MAKE ME FEEL BETTER ON A BAD DAY. WILL ANOTHER FOOD DO THE SAME THING?
2. WILL I BEAT MYSELF UP LATER BECAUSE I ATE IT OR CAN I SAY IT IS FINE AND MOVE ON. I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I EAT SOMETHING THAT I THINK IS GOING TO BE GREAT THAT ONCE I LOOK UP THE CALORIES I REALIZE IT ISNT REALLY WORTH IT AND I CHOOSE SOMETHING ELSE.
GOOD LUCK0 -
i say go for it...but like others have said eat 1/2 or even 3/4 of it...you really could be picking something worse and if you are anything like me if you are craving it and deny yourself you will eat more of other things to try to make up for the craving and end up just as terrible if not worse than if you would've just eaten what you were craving (that is what would happen to me at least) enjoy!0
-
I've caved and had something bad on a "bad" day and it just leaves you feeling guilty, plus the added benefit of feeling horrible if you don't usually eat this way. If Im having a bad day I like to put my favorite tunes on my MP3 and get out for a walk or jog. Nothing makes you feel better than the good endorphins from some exercise, coupled with a nice day and getting out in it . . . a much better way to lift your spirits than grease!

I totally agree and that's what normally happens when I don't give in every so often... I PIG OUT on anything else I can get my hands on... :noway: Lunch is in 17 minutes...0 -
i say eat it. 440 calories for lunch is not that bad. the fat is a little high but you'll live. hope you start having a better day.0
-
Just eat it but don't go over your calorie budget for the day.
A calorie is a calorie and that thing doesn't look so bad. It even has a pretty decent amount of protein in it and those seem to be the hardest to come by in food.
Generally people seem to eat way too much carbohydrates, fear fat, and disregard protein. Not good!
Edit:
On the other hand. Just like someone said, eating because of a bad day isn't a good idea. It might just be the worst eating habit there is! You should eat because you're hungry and do something else to relieve stress.0 -
that is not as bad as a philly cheese steak from philly!
my thoughts exactly! really philly cheesesteaks are WAY worse than 440 cals!!0 -
SOOOOOO.....
I did it. I ate that amazing, flavorful Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich!!! BUT....
I only ate half, and I had sweet potato fries with it.
Not too bad I think, I'm in the process of entering it all now!
Thanks everyone for your help/advice!0
