Does anyone else work out two hours a day?

This could be twice a day for 1 hour intervals or for 2 hours at a whack? I read this article about that victoria secret model and she said her routine involved working out 2 hours a day 6 days a week. Now granted she had drastic circumstances, my diet wont be nearly as small I want to be healthy. But I was thinking that two hours a day 6 days a week could be what I need to get out of the 190s, I have been plateaued at 195-193 for 20 days now working out 4 days a week and eating healthy (minus this week).
What do you think, too drastic or is it good in moderation, does anyone do something similar? I lost 20lbs and then stalled, not sure if its the fat turning to muscle or what but I need to adjust something

Have you lost any inches?0

I also would like to hear opinions, I already do 1 hour 6 times a week but would like to add in anouther 30 -60 minutes.. I think it is fine. But would like to hear what others think0
-
for me more like an hour and a half. i do 15-30 min cardio before i meet my trainer for 30 min strength then do the same thing again before i go to bed if it is not to late in the evening0

I've been stuck at the same as you. I workout 2 hrs a day 5 days a week, one rest day, and 1 hr the other day. I've gotten to the point where I ignore the scale. I know what I'm doing is changing me. I'm growing stronger and healthier. It would be nice to lose the weight though. If you figure out the trick, let me know!0

You don't need to work out that much to lose weight. Aslong as you keep a calorie defecit you will lose weight. Also it depends on the intensity. Low intensity for 2hours (ie. Walking) but 2hours high intensity training will not be good for you.0
-
Are you fueling the exercise you are already doing or are you netting very low calories? If you're netting very low calories, it is likely that your metabolism is stalled.
I workout about 30-45 minutes per day and that's it...I use my diet for weight control and I exercise for fitness. If you did 2 hrs per day, I would suggest no more than an hour of cardio after you 45-60 minute weight training session. If it's just going to be all cardio, you're wasting your time. Also, properly fuel the exercise.0 -
Heck no...that's insane! I have better things to do with my time than spend 2 hours a day working out!0
-
It really depends on you and what your workout routine is.. Me and my best friend work out 2-3 hours 7 days a week. but manily cuz we do alot of dancing n when dancing time just flies n doesn even feel like your working out. ive been dancer since i wa young so i know that dancing along with 30-45 mins of strength trainning every other day helps me.0
-
Heck no! I do 15-25 a day, and maybe longer on the weekend keeping up with my son at the park. I can't imagine doing one to two hours a day, but everyone is different.0
-
I would suggest cutting back calories. I have been doing 1200 plus exercise and am losing weight quick.0
-
I now "workout" 2-2.5 hours a day, in four separate sessions, with varying intensities, throughout the day: 5:15am, noon, 6:00pm, 8:30pm.
It works well for me, but I have to be careful not to eat too many exercise calories back.0 -

OP is already eating 1000 calories or less most days, if their diary is accurate. Cutting calories really isn't a good suggestion here.0 -
I do but only because I feel great afterwards and I can just feel the stress melt off while I'm working out.0

No.0

I didnt look at her diary before I said that. I make sure I net 1200 a day and I believe that is fine. I dont see how I would be losing muscle when I am walking 2 miles a day! I think I am building muscle from it
just my opinon

Guilty as charged. I swim everyday (Mon-Fri) for 2 hours.0
-
Hell no. At most and IF I happen to have a 90 minute session it's bc I had to double up lifting and running due to work demands etc or I'm running a long run which only happens every couple of weeks. I'm in the gym and out in 60 mins 4 days, 5 the most a week. Excessive workouts with barely any food is not healthy and actually damaging to your body.0

doing a search for 1,200 calories a day, you will just read stories of how people have stalled out, and can't lose weight untill they up their calories.Look at how chronic undereating turned out for these people...

I workout 2 hours a day but I eat 3,362 calories a day0
-
not me!0
-
No. I do 30 minutes a day 5-6 days a week, mostly strength training. Two hours a day is overkill for most people.0
-
I walk every morning for about 45mins.. thinking about going to the gym as well after work some days.
But would be mostly weights.0 -
Not on your life.0

no way0

I wish I had the time these days. I am a teacher. So, during the summer I will workout for two hours (one hour of cardio or strength training and one hour of yoga or pilates) but I don't have the time during the school year. I do enjoy it!0
-
I got stuck at 193 for two weeks too ... that was super frustrating. (I've since moved past it, but man it was FRUSTRATING).
My current schedule looks like this:
Monday: ripped in 30, c25K
Tuesday, ripped in 30
Wednesday: ripped in 30, c25K
Thursday: zumba (sometimes pilates after, but not always)
Friday: ripped in 30, c25K
Saturday: rest
then repeat, starting with Sunday instead of Monday.
I eat between 1700-1900 cal a day and don't eat back my exercise cal.0 -
I will never work out intensely for 2 hours. No way no how, even if I could do more than 5 minutes. But, slow burning. I might get to the point where I do that all day long. I am hoping to find a moderately active job and when I am not working, well I will just watch tv while pacing back and forth or I will dance a couple hours a night( slow not at a frantic aerobic pace) and I will take some long walks daily. And I will never put myself on a starvation 1000 calorie a day diet, that would be a sure fire way to set myself up for a year long binge.0
-
20 days isn't really a plateau, and if you're only eating 1000 calories it's no surprise that you're stuck.
Exercise: On the days that I lift (3 x per week), I walk to and from the gym which is an hour round trip. I warm up, lift for about an hour or 1.5 hrs, tops (depends how I'm feeling), then I foam roll and stretch and go home. So yes, I suppose on those days I'm exercising for 2-2.5 hrs. I workout for about an hour on the other days which is when I do stuff at home. I also walk or something those days. But I don't spend 2 hrs doing intense exercise, ever.
No way could I do that with only 1000 calories a day.0 -
I workout about 2 hours 5 days a week. I feel fine and it works for me; I'm sure others will hate the idea, but to each their own, why not try it for a week or so and see if it works for you? My calorie intake is about 1300/day, I try to not eat back ALL my excersise calories back, I've lost more inches than I have weight, on THAT aspect I have pretty much remained the same.0

2hrs a day? What are eating at?0
