Is having carbs for dinner a deal breaker?

I'm on a 1200 diet. I haven't eaten anything all day, except breakfast. I always have lunch and snacks but I felt so unusual today and decided not to eat and my families making pasta for dinner. Should I or not?

There's no reason not to if it fits in your calories and you don't smother it in butter, cheese, cream sauce, etc. Have one measured portion, add some lean protein and a veg, and you'll be fine.0

For weight loss, this is what matters.
For health...adding the protein and veggies would be a bonus, but there's nothing wrong with butter, cheese, and cream sauce in and of themselves.0 -
Oh, and there's NOTHING unhealthy about carbs for dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast. Or a midnight snack.0

For some reason there seems to be this myth (I blame the more popular low carb diet plans) that Carbs = bad. That's just not true at all. As long as you portion size it properly and don't overdo them there's nothing wrong with eating carbs regardless of whether it's lunch or dinner.

Worry about calories first. That means you eat more or less, or in this case, at all. Macros come second.

I always have carbs for dinner. I am to get my protein, which normally give me fats, then carbs take care of themselves. For me , cutting carbs makes me hungry. So I try and get healthy carbs rather than crave the wrong ones . Enjoy you meal with your family. Pasta bakes can offer a lot of goodness0

I actually get leaner when I eat carbs. Donno why. If I just load up on protein, I get a bloated feeling. But carbs make me feel like a washboard ab.0

There's no magic time when certain foods - or any foods, for that matter - become "good" or "bad" for you. Assuming you have reasonable settings for calories and macros, eat your food when you're hungry, don't go wildly over or under your total calorie goal for sustained periods, and get as close to your macro goals as possible. This includes eating back the vast majority of your exercise calories, (arguably) unless you've intentionally set your activity level to include all your exercise already. If, upon review, you find you're missing particular nutrients, or on the advice of your doctor, you may find it beneficial to add a vitamin supplement or a protein shake to maintain adequate nutrition.

Macro counting is usually for those who maybe sensitive to a certain macro, cutting down/bulking (based on carb counting) or weirdly want a low carb lifestyle which isn't necessarily beneficial in the long run!0 -
