People who say "Hon"
Replies

Doesn't bother me0
-
no, you're not the only person who thinks that0
-
I do not hate it, I kind of get a laugh out of it. However partly because my wife hates it. So when someone says it, makes me laugh.0
-
I don't mind it. I do it. I like it. It's friendly, not flirtatious. I say it to women, not men.0
-
yeah if a girl says it to me it doesn't annoy me, although it's not something I'd probably ever say0
-
Well hon I say it to OP's who start threads about it.0
-
I am so guilty of doing this and don't realize i am. Once i didn't say it to a patient at work and they thought i was having a bad day
  :laugh:0 -
I don't think it's generally an attempt to be flirty. It's just how a lot of women talk, sweetie.0
-
I hate it too. I dunno if it's because it feels condescending or if it's just how the word sounds but yes. It annoys.0
-
Nice job, hon.0
-
It doesn't bother me, but I don't necessarily like it either. I usually get it from some of my older female friends on here, so I take it as a motherly thing.0
-
I've been called worse.0
-
What's so bad about calling you hun, hun?0
-
I see nothing wrong with it. Better than being called something else...if you know what I mean.

i dont have a problem with it hon0
-
I find it annoying some times.. depends on who it comes from but if guys say it to me then no it does not bother me at all0
-
I don't think it's usually flirty, I think people usually put it in to add a little extra personal touch to what they're saying.
I think it comes off as a little condescending though sometimes. Maybe because I call my son "hun/hon" and I call people I like "Darling" or something like that.0 -
You mean like, "Hon Harold T Stone presiding" and stuff?0
-
I HATE PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT! Especially if we're similar in age.0
-
It depends on who's mouth it's coming out of. Some people can get away with it, and others I want to slap their mouth off their face when they say it. Y'know how it is!0
-
sorry sweetie, I'll try not to do it to you.0
-
It used to REALLY annoy me, but I don't really care anymore. everybody has a little thing they do thats similar. Ok, it does sometimes annoy me still but only when i am already irritated by other things....lol0

My in-laws are all from Maryland/Pennsylvania, and they all say it all the time. It doesn't really bother me, though. I'm pretty sure I say it, too.0
-
You stand alone, sport.0
-
They aren't flirting, they've forgotten your name.0
