How many had kids that were "accidents"?

I don't have kids but it seems like there are a lot of young women on this site who have children. Did you plan to get pregnant or did it just "happen"? A friend and I were talking about this and we would like your opinion.

I have a 2 year old boy, he wasn't planned but when we found out we were overjoyed, wouldn't have it any other way0

Nope, my son was very, very planned.0

Mine were surprise Blessings almost 2 and almost 10 May 13th and May 19th0

I planned all 3 of my kids. It annoys me that everyone assumes they were accidents because I am young. :grumble:0

One of mine was planned, the other was a result of a sexual assault so no, he was very much not planned.0

We were to the point where we thought we couldn't have children and then four years later BAM, preggo. Unplanned but overjoyed.0
-
Both of my children were very pleasant surprises.0

I was on birth control and got pregnant anyway... but I wouldn't trade our son for anything!0

I don't think that was the assumption. Most of my friends are late 20's and very few have kids and we were discussing why it seems that way.0 -
I have children ages 11 and 9 and they were very planned. I do not believe any child/pregnancy is an "accident." Any child is a gift, whether planned or not!
Sure wish I could have talked hubby into baby 3!!0 -
OH MY GOD, what a horrible idea for a thre---wait, nvm. I just realized it is TMI tuesday and MFP is the overshare capital of the world. Carry on. And break your comps before your kids learn to read.0

I have 3 kids...none of them were "accidents", so much as in pure defiance of birth control. So, no, none of them were planned, but were apparently very determined!0

I have three children, ages 19, 18 and 4.... all of which were "blessings". LOL0
-
I'll 4 of mine were planned0

My first child was planned and technically we had plans for a second one but not so soon after my first :laugh:0

If you read the fine print, those pills are on 99% effective. So I feel honored to have kids in the 1%!0

I got pregnant accidentally-on-purpose at the age of 30. (Diaphragms don't work if you leave them in the drawer.) While it did get my then-fiance to agree to a wedding date, the marriage ended badly after 13 years. DS, however, is one of the major sources of joy in my life.
My nephew is in grad school at Georgetown with one year to go and was married last June. He and his wife are in their late 20s. She discovered that she's one of the women for whom BC pills don't work after she got pregnant. With twins. They're due in August. Fortunately, his parents are genuinely wealthy (I don't know hers). I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to make sure he finishes his degree and they'll be fine.0 -
The first was planned, the second absolutely was not but he was the best surprise ever. They're 15 months apart to the day.0

This is a rude question. :happy:0

Two were planned, one was a lovely surprise and turns 18 this month!!0

Both of our boys were surprises. Crazy can't sleep ohmygosh what are we gonna do surprises. It's worked out better than I ever expected.
We weren't trying to get preggers either time, quite the contrary.
So thankful for my IUD now.0 -
We were more "prepared" the second time around...but I'll call them both blessings, not accidents.0
-
I have 2 boys and while they weren't planned my husband and I chose to ignore birth control when I got preg each time. So they defiantly weren't a surprise.0
-
I worked hard to get my one child0

I don't have kids myself, but I know several people who have children that were unplanned. Two of them were the result of a hurricane - the town was shut down so the pharmacy wasn't open for her to renew her birth control and she got pregnant even though she had never wanted kids. They are now working on a second. The other lady wasn't planning more kids (she already had two) and with the power out and nothing to do, their daughter was conceived. The third's husband was supposed to be sterile with the medication he was on, but apparently that wasn't the case!0

I have one that was an unplanned miracle and a complete blessing ! I love that kid He's my mini me lol0

I don't have any kids, but I was "an accident" although my family always insists a happy one!
My mum and dad had been out at a party- my dad was too drunk to go for condoms, and my mum said "oh I'll be fine".
She was not. And here I am.
I actually owe my very existence to Bacardi.0 -
both of mine were surprises, not accidents. We had the attitude that if it happened it happened, and we did nothing to prevent it. It still took 1.5 years for the first one to be conceived.0

None of my kids were accidents. They were all gifts from God.0

My daughter wasn't planned for, but we weren't doing much to prevent it. My son, on the other hand. . .my hubby made a call for a consultation appt with "Dr. Snips" on a thursday. . .that Sunday (1 day before my 34th bday) i felt crummy and was a day late. Took a pregnancy test and, well, he cancelled his appointment!! LOL! That little "surprise" will turn 7 soon and we wouldn't have it any other way.
