hey thanks for your reply ....im dont think im working out more than i should (an hour a day) and i dont think im starving myself, i am eating breakfast and a good dinner every day, i just happen to be below on my calories because when i work out i do not eat back my calories as to me it defeats the purpose !!
You're wrong.
Also, "lose" and "loose" are not the same word.0 -
You will do it . xxxx
thanks hunni xx xx0 -
If you are eating 1300 cals a day and then working out for an hour -and not eating back your exercise calories, then you are probably only netting something like 400-700 calories a day depending on the workout.
If you open your diary we can actually help you.. otherwise this is all guess work.0 -
There is never and easy answer for the plateau. Some say up the calories, and others say hang in there. Losing all that you did, you are being honest about your diet and exercise, so here is what happened to me. I was 1200-1400 + exercise calories and I lost 64 pounds. I hit a plateau, and lost nothing from August to December. Zero, nothing. I upped it to 1800-200 and gained 14 pounds. Dropped it to 1600-1800 and lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks.
I run 3 times a week, and do a 1 hours cardio circuit twice a week plus walks, skating and biking with my family.0 -
ye i think i need to start trying to eat more and gain some of my calories back to see if this makes any difference .......thanks so much for your advice, i wil be giving it a try as of tomorrow and please god i wil some difference, i just seem to be one of these people that when i look at food i gain weight and so have spent my whole life watching what i eat. At the start of my diet it worked as i have lost 15kilos but i think your right maybe i should try and eat some more now in order to reach my goal !! x0

heya ........fiber i dnt no, i would imagine probably only in the bran flakes i would have some mornings and of course in some veg. i have not been tracking that... as for water i do alot. i do interval training workouts 3 or 4 times a week and then the other workouts i do twice a week are uphill walking and down hill running for an hour. i generally have a day off a week or sometimes 2 depending on how busy i am during the week !0

Eat until it says "0 calories remaining".
Perhaps, but undereating seems to be the #1 or #2 most common cause here on MFP.
ok i will give this a go but i think i wil find myself looking for things to eat to fill up my calories !! hahaha!!!! thanks for your help !!

Easy way to up your calories without actually haviong to eat a hell of a lot more is to start adding healthy fats and protein back in....
Nuts, Nut butters, Cheese, Full Fat yoghurt / milk instead of low fat, avocado, olives, salmon are all great options for increasing your calories.....0 -

thanks for your advice, i can see how what u mean about upping and dropping calories and the difference it has made, it is something i will need to look into and see what will happen if i make these changes !!0 -

Hey guys, really looking for some help here. I am not over weight and only have 4kilos to go but i am still not loosing weight !! Why is this ?? I am doing everything I can, im under my calorie goal every day and im working out for an hour a day (and i dont mean light exercise). Im burning an average 650 cals a day on exercise and despite my calorie counter saying i should loose a pound a weight i havent seen any change!! Please tell me where Im going wrong ??? Any advice greatly appreciated !!
I'm about your weight (60kg) and 5'6". You look about my height. My question is - what exercises are you doing which has you burning 650 cals an hour? There is no way I can burn 650 cals in an hour of intense exercise. If your cal burn is accurate, upping calories is probably the only way forward.0 -
I just want to say good for you, OP, for having such a great attitude. Often people start a thread like this and they can get really defensive and argue back with advice. I can tell that eating more is nervous making for you, but you were cool on here about it. Thanks!
And I pretty much always agree with Taso around here. You can trust that he's giving good thoughtful info and not blowing a bunch of bro science at you.0 -
No not yet, I just joined and I have a ankle injury right now and can't work out. Love Zumba, I go to a local community class that is held at a local gym. Strained a ligament squatting??How dumb is that. Anyway I am in a brace for one more week and I do hope to get back to excerise soon. Good luck with you healthly life style. sounds like you are on the right track. TTL0

What does eating back you exercise calories mean??0

It could be sodium?0

In.
Waiting to see when this thread turns into a loose vs. lose thread. *grabs popcorn and settles in*0 -
I don't see where you're logging anything... are you doing it elsewhere?0
-
Are you logging your calories?0

I'm just waiting until people realize this thread is a year old.0

Are you actually logging food? I looked at your diary, but it shows nothing for the last several days at least...
1. If not logging, how do you know you're staying "under" your calorie goal?
2. Are you eating back at least part of that huge calorie burn?
3. Are you taking measurments?
You aren't gaining significant muscle if you're eating at a deficit, so that's not it...but you might not be eating enough (or you're not accurately tracking what you eat).0 -
I didn't see any entries in your diary. But if you're hitting the carb "goal", then that's why you aren't losing. I've been eating 1000 less per day for months and haven't lost anything. Dropped my carb intake, and now I'm FINALLY dropping the weight.
For what it's worth... your picture is pretty darn cute. A lot of us would LOVE to be at your weight. If you can't lose that last 4 kilos, try to enjoy where you're at.0 -

Maybe this is why we think noobs don't use the search function? When they bump old threads, no one can figure out what's going on.0 -
If you are losing inches, why are you concerned about the kilos? It's the inches that will make you LOOK better.0

ROFL, necro thread resurrected.0

try eating more protein after your workout0

You are probably under eating which is why many people stall.
