Everyone looks great!! I needed to see this thread today, was feeling frustrated with my progress. Keep up the awesome work! And thanks for the motivation! :flowerforyou:
Women: multiply your goal weight by 10.
Men: Multiply your goal weight by 11.
This number will be your DAILY CALORIC INTAKE to MAINTAIN that GOAL WEIGHT.
So, if I want to be 160lbs, 160 x 11 = 1760 calories per day. But I am targeting 1200 per day NET calories to get this rolling a little faster. Hope this make sense.0 -

This is my favorite part of MFP. You all are huge inspirations and a constant reminder that this is possible, I can do it, and that it is so so so worth it.0

I agree that everyone has individual goals and my earlier post was not meant to shove numbers down anyone's throats. It is a rule of thumb my physician gave me and from other medical journals I read. it is what I used and it worked for me as I can finally put numbers to food and exercise. When I get asked, "What's your secret?", I simply tell them I created a calorie deficit and emphasized the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. The numbers I gave before were for weight loss. To maintain, thats a whole different animal.
I think the bottom line in general is you've got to make a change and by creating a calorie deficit the pounds will come off.
Good luck.0 -

First picture is when I was at my heaviest at 309. Second picture I am at 206, sorry I cut my head off, but I tried on that dress without thinking I would actually get into it and I had some bed head going on! I didn't think I was going to fit into it. The last time I wore it was in the 80's (and of course it is now back in style). The last is just a face progression 309 down to 199

There are many things to consider. Usually 1,200 is a bad idea. It's really aout your ratio of deficit to your TDEE> how big is your cut? Some people just have a really low TDEE and they can do 1,200 calories without consequences. We need more information from her. She might even have thyroid issues as well.
I agree and I am curious myself. I just find it kind of depressing that someone can post how they only ate 1200 (netting less than that) at 180lbs, get cut abs when that won't work for 80% of us. If one can mention they ate 1200, they can also mention info such as TDEE, thyroid which she was asked multiple times in a different thread but never answered. I await her answer because she may very well have a thyroid issue in which I would continue to congratulate her on her success (but also recommend she mentions that so people who are healthy know too)0 -
