I haven't been posting my updates everyday, but I've been getting my push ups done! Today is day 14. The number is 49! Haven't done them yet, but I will! This is a great challenge!

Grr! I forgot the last 12 yesterday! I'm not going to catch up, just add 3 to my total for today. 30 done already.

Got them all in today! And I know I'm getting better! I can bend my arms to almost 90 degrees when doing the knee pushups, and that's a huge improvement over where I was 2 weeks ago. When this challenge is done, I'm going to focus on getting lower, doing fewer, probably, but definitely going as deep as I can. The day I can do even one perfect full-length pushup will be a day to celebrate, because I've *never* been able to do *any* kind of pushup all the way down before. Ever. I'm so excited!

    52 full push ups done!
Did them in sets like this - 12+10+5+15+15 - although today is my day off exercising so may be that's why i managed more in a set than i usually do, usually do ten max. Tomo is body pump so will try to do all 55 before class otherwise il be too tired and sore to do them!

Okay, I've been thinking about this really hard, and I think I'm going to quit. Okay, quit isn't the right word. But I read this: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/15/proper-push-up/

He said not to do them every day. Which makes sense, if you're going for strength.

When I was doing more cardio than strength, it wasn't such a big deal. But starting Sunday I'm going to change programs and focus on body weight strength training.

I decided wall pushups were too easy, so I tried my kitchen counter. I couldn't get more than 12 perfect pushups. So I'm going to focus on building up until I can do 3-4 sets of 20 and then move to the kitchen table (a bit lower), then a kitchen chair (even lower). My goal is to go all the way down, which will build muscles in a way that going half-way down with a full-length or knee pushup can't possibly do.

So I'm not actually quitting pushups, just the challenge.

But don't let me discourage anyone who wants to finish, if it's going well for you! :drinker:

    Day 19-64done
    Day 20-67done
    Day 21-70 done
    Day 22-73 done

I break them into sets of 20 and that seems to work better. Its tough trying to go straight thru, especially after 50 pushups my arms start getting tired. :noway:
