I am 5'9" and my "perfect" goal weight would be returning to 130 lbs., but I would be thrilled to be anywhere between 130-140 lbs.0

my goal is around 130-140!0

5' 10" and currently at 150 pounds. And I just turned 50 years old this year.
My whole life I thought I was large framed. Family, friends, my doctor, all said I was.
Yet losing 75 pounds has shown me I was just fat (highest weight 225) and that the fat hid my true bone structure. I'm pretty much in maintenance mode now, learning the ropes of that, but if I were to lose 5 more pounds and reach 145 that's OK with me. My overall long term goal is to keep my weight under 155. I'm not a bag of bones; I've got wide hips (40") and curves.
I think your doctor is a bit off if they're telling you 200 is a healthy weight. I think we as a culture have a very warped view of what a healthy weight looks like due to all of us being so overweight for so long. Our "normal" is messed up.0 -
I am 5"9. Currently 134, hoping to be 125. My build is quite narrow, and I've been 125 before without being too skinny-0

I'm 5`9" . I look my best at 143. I was at 156 with muscle and was very close to happy. Due to an injury I am currently at 169 & feel disgusting. I have a smaller frame.0

I'm 5'8 large frame
My goal weight is 170-180 lbs
I have gotten down to 180 before ,but fell off the wagon0 -
I'm 5'8.5 and aiming to get to 100. Yes I am aware that it's a low weight. I have a very small frame.
100lbs......that's tiny
I'm happiest at around 134lbs....!!!0 -
This is an interesting thread!
I am 6 foot. My lightest weight was 140 in my early 20s (the last time I was at a healthy weight). I have a really small frame for my height and have put this as my goal weight. However, reading this thread, I am beginning to wonder if this would be too light for me. :huh:0 -
I'm 5'10". I was about 130 lbs when I graduated high school, and when I look back now, that was way too thin. My high is 213lbs (sigh), and I'm down to about 198 now. Basing my goal weight on photos, thinking where I was last really happy with my body, I am shooting for 160-165 probably. Will re-evaluate when I get there. But yeah, i would think 200 is still too high (considering my doctor has been telling me to lose since I probably hit 185)... Good luck with your loss though!0

Im 5'9.5. I started at 220. Lost 30 lbs and am atr 190 currently. My goal is 160 to be slim and trim.0

I'm just under 5'9 and right now my goal is 175, but I don't know if that will be my final number. I don't know what my body or frame will really look like until I lose a lot more weight.0

I'm 6 ft, wide frame. my goal is 155, but when I check for where I should be with a healthy body fat percentage, it tells me to be around 162, so I'm going to get lower and see how I feel...0

My starting weight was 209, I am currently 187 and my goal weight is 169. I have been every weight between 135 and 220. 169 is a good weight for me, probably a size 8/10. I will be very happy there.0

I'm 5'9, with a medium build. I started at 215. Now I'm 165 and my goal is 150.
220 sounds pretty high, even with a bigger build, but that's just my opinion. I'm no doctor and every body holds weight differently.
My advice is to you is to just start somewhere and see how it goes. If you're happy at 220, great. If you're not, keep going. You'll never know until you start though!0 -
I'm 5'9" , I guess you could say large build.
My UGW is somewhere in the 150 range.0 -
I am 5'9"...large build...size 10W feet! I am a size 8/10....I weigh 173 right now...0

I welcome any serious people that want some support and that want to give support...Looking for friends with similar goals.0

5'9 and currently at 165lb, my ideal weight would be 135-140lb.0

I am 5'10 and weigh 227.
At my highest I was 273.
My DR told me 180 is where I should be.
I told her she was crazy!
I like to be curvy. I don't want to be THAT skinny.
My personal goal is 200.
But I would say be comfortable. Be YOU.
Thank you!0 -
5'9 large frame aiming for 175.0

I'm 5'9" and maintain very, very easily at 125. 200 lbs at this height at any frame is not healthy, and will set you up for cardiovascular problems later in life, not to mention joint, ankle and knee problems.
It's good to set small goals if you have a lot to lose, but I certainly would not stop at 200.0 -
I am 5"9 and am aiming to get down to at least 167 pounds...but the ultimate goal will be to get down to 150 pounds.0

I am 5"10 and weigh 152.6 lbs0

I'm 5'8.5 and aiming to get to 100. Yes I am aware that it's a low weight. I have a very small frame.
I know that's a low weight, but when I was 120 in college, I was a bag of bones. Even with a small frame, why would you want to get down that low? I'm really trying to actively not be mean, just seeking to understand.
At 120, I am not a bag of bones, in fact I don't have any bones jutting out. I very much like the skinny aesthetic and I would like to be that skinny.0 -
I'm at 5"8, and am currently 135 pounds. My dream weight would be anywhere between 120-125 pounds, however I have a big frame therefore and believe that goal to be unrealistic. I'd be lucky to get down to 1300

I am 5'10" and my goal is 170-175. I think I am large framed but the fact that Im 80lb overweight makes it seem that way too. I carry most of my weight in my stomach and chest. Used to be 150-155 and was considered too thin, so we will see how the weight falls off. I want to concentrate on how I feel about my body instead of what the scale says.0

Yep, that was me. I was CONVINCED I had a large frame at 215, although I did know I was overweight. Boy was I wrong... I can actually see my frame now and know that's not true!!! lol0
