Wow lots of us! Let the support begin. Melismoon keep on going and your recovery will be so much easier after the surgery. I can't wait to get to know everybody. Although I have to admit that my binge eating has been overtaken by my binge reading and replying on MFP. I feel the need to start setting daily goals for myself at this time. It is almost 6:30AM and I have been up for 45 min (small dog -- small bladder). Almost finished my first cup of coffee for the day which is filled with WAY to many meetings today. My plan is to go put on some work out clothes, pop in Zumba dvd (60 min) and get started. I normally snack on hershey's almond kisses all day but last night I packed up an apple, some blueberries and cottage cheese, a yogurt, and a 32 ounce water bottle with blueberries in it. I usually have a strawberry, banana, almond milk smoothie for breakfast after my workout. Haven't even thought about dinner -- have to get better at preplanning. Also, someone posted a great Quinoa recipe. Have to find that and buy myself a rice cooker. Even though I slipped up a lot last week, my focus is eating healthier this week. I need to get my calories up a bit but finding it difficult to do only eating healthy foods. I am also worried about the Memorial Day weekend this weekend. Going away with a lot of people and they all love to eat and drink. I am going to have to dig DEEP to find some willpower!

YES! I am 42 and have lost 10 pounds since January on MFP. More importantly, I am getting strong-- fitter than I have been in decades. I am a runner and I started heavy lifting a few weeks ago. I would love to have more 40+ friends. Please add me! :flowerforyou:

I'm in - not really sure how to necessarily "join". I have really struggled over the last few months. I had lost 25 pounds previously but have allowed my weight to creep up again to where I have gained 20 pds back over the winter. This is my restart day :-)

you are not alone cljhruss. I lost 30 and after December to mid april creeped up and gained 15 of it back. Once I do this AGAIN I need to find a way to maintain. I start to think, Oh I'm good, I can eat that. Turns out I was so wrong. We got this.

I hope someone knows how to "add" all these people to a group! lots of us. I am new at this and have never posted on the boards.

I am 42 and started a few months ago. Goal was to drop about 10 pounds and, most importantly, firm up... gain muscle and lose flab. I have lost about 3 or 4 pounds so far.

Hello everyone I am 44 and from the UK. I have been using MFP for a while now but never really looked into the 'community' pages before until a few days ago, but it is always good to have support when embarking on this journey of weight lose.

I gave up smoking 7 weeks ago and have found that my extra weight has now got extra weight, so I need to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control

I have about 35 lb's to lose and look forward to getting as much help from others as I can give them

And yes I would like to be in.

I'm not sure we need to do anything other than start to write. If you go to community and look under "My Topics" you will find the group since you have already posted. Now we just get to know each other. Looks like there is a lot of interest. I hope everyone's day is going well.
  • I am 48 and just joined last week, still working my way around the site. I have been stuck with my weight loss for a few months and would like to get back on track, and am hoping joining this site will help, educate and motivate me.

Hi! I'm 47 and trying to drop the 25 pounds I've put on since May of 2012. I fell in love and he like to EAT! And he eats LATE! So... trying to get it together, set a couple of boundaries and get back into feeling healthy! Plus - I believe my poor feet will thank me!
