I saw this post and will try it after grocery day.

I usually drink mine black, but I let myself have a little something extra on the weekends. I love the So Delicious Coconut Creamer. Only 10 cals for 2 tablespoons, and if you are watching your carbs, there is only 1g per serving. I really like it with the moca coconut donut shop coffe in the k cups.0

Just milk, or coconut milk. I've come to dislike sweetness in my coffee, so no sugar. I put some vanilla and cinnamon in the grinds when I brew it.0

Black. I might occasionally but a little bit of cinnamon or vanilla extract in the grounds before brewing.
I drink good coffee. I'd hate to ruin it by putting anything in it.0 -
I prefer to drink my coffee with skim milk and no sweetener of any kind. But if I have a couple of cups or a Venti at Starbucks that's close to 200 calories. I also do Intermittent Fasting from time to time, and although one can have a small amount of dairy in one's coffee, it's better to drink it plain. But I can't stand black coffee. Until now. I recently started making it with the cold brew method, which removes the bitterness. It takes a little advance preparation, but it's not hard.
I don't love it as much as my coffee with skim, but I'm willing to drink it when I need to cut down on calories. I'd rather spend the 200 somewhere else.
Here's a recipe I've been using. I usually don't add the salt and if I drink it hot, I dilute the concentrate with water and microwave it.

Great topic.
Currently I drink 4 cups of filter coffee every morning with some (145ml) Alpro chocolate soya milk, shake the milk carton it like a polaroid picture before pouring in my travel mug to get a nice frothy foam on top and in my head it tastes like a good mocha with a third of the calories.
The soya milk has enough sugar in it so don't need to add anything else. I've also tried Alpro almond milk for a change it is quite nice.0 -
I'm looking for ways to drink my coffee without breaking the caloric bank. (I mean, I want most of my calories going into my food, not my coffee, y'know?) Trying to avoid buying coffee creamer because of the insane amount of ingredients in it. I never think 2 tablespoons are enough either. I'd rather avoid cane sugar/fake sugar as well.
This morning, someone here turned me on to pumpkin pie spice-ing (allspice, cinnamon, ginger and clove) with some agave syrup. That brings the grand total to 60 whole calories for my cup. Not counting alittle of my half cup skim milk to it as well for that extra creaminess. It was actually pretty tasty!
So...what creative ways do you drink YOUR coffee? And don't say black. I'm sorry, but I like flavor in my coffee!!
Er.... Buy better coffee and learn how to brew it, and I guarantee you it will have flavor. I drink mine black.
Perhaps I should have just posted this.

I agree. Good coffee is flavorful. For me, the issue with black coffee was the bitterness, which I would get even with careful brewing. That's why I like the cold brew method, because the elimination of the heat prevents the bitter oils from being extracted (or however it works). It makes a very potent cup of coffee.0 -
Black is one way that I do it, but I'm like you, not the biggest fan of coffee black.
Most of the time, I use half a cup of Silk Vanilla Soy Milk (50 calories). It's sweet enough and the soy milk takes the edge off of the coffee.0 -

If you don't like the bitter flavor (and a lot of people don't), I would try a medium or light roast and use a Chemex:
http://www.chemexcoffeemaker.com/
The filters are thicker so they take a lot of the less enjoyable flavors out of the coffee. The manufacturers say you can use a doubled up regular cone filter (Melitta, etc.) if you don't want to spring for Chemex filters.0 -
Quality west coast coffee in a Keurig during the week and French press (we grind our own beans) on weekends.
Just a little bit of sugar and organic half -n-half. Hardly any calories.
Tons of antioxidants.
Tons of diabetes prevention.
Keeping it real.0 -

Careful though. Females should not have too much processed soy. (it's a known hormone distruptor). Stick to soy beans or soy sauce (fermentation is good). It's hard to keep soy out of your diet because it's in everything but why add more by doing the milk...?0 -

WebMD posted a warning about Stevia. People on blood pressure meds should not consume Stevia. Spread the word!0 -
Usually black or I drink tea. Occasionally if I'm really craving it and it's under my calorie limit, I'll buy myself a high calorie latte or coffee drink.0

Hi! I drink my 2 1/2-3 cups with 1 1/2 Tbsp of any flavored creamer with half a packet of Splenda. An depending on the flavor of the creamer I skip the Splenda altogether.
Sounds like me. I'm addicted and I'm ok with that. Better than smoking.0 -
Black, no sugar. Has to be good coffee though.
Yep. This. I pay a little extra for the good ground coffee at Costco instead of the "run o' the mill" Folgers or Maxwell House. It makes a big difference.0 -
When I joined MFP I used French Vanilla Coffeemate. After a few months of seeing how many calories I was drinking, I replaced that with Half and Half. Over the next year I slowly reduced the amount I was using. I recently replaced Half and Half with Almond Milk which has way fewer calories and no saturated fats.
Half and half and honey. Has been something I don't give on, but reading this post, I'm going to check out Almond Milk. Thanks!!0 -
I always have my coffee with a dash of skim milk in it, no sugar.0
-
Half scoop of chocolate whey protein and little bit of low fat cream. Taste like hot chocolate with a caffeine kick.0
-
16 ounce cup.... 4T of half and half and a scoop of sugar free vanilla protein powder. It doubles as my breakfast.0
-
With demerara sugar, a pinch of cinnamon and a drop of vanilla extract. No milk normally.
....What is Demerara??
It's a type of soft unrefined brown sugar here in the UK0 -
Black BUT I drink flavored black coffee. Cinnamon vanilla. Hazelnut. Etc. Its still 0 calories and it has *flavor* to it.0
-
Splenda + 1 tbs fat free half and half + 1 tbs hazelnut liquid coffee creamer. Yes, I like my coffee sweet and light. Comes in at 40 calories per cup and worth it for me. Seems odd to me now that I used to take my coffee black years ago.0
-
It may take some getting used to if you usually add milk and sugar, but I just put about 2 FL OZ of MILK (I use 2%) in black coffee. I used to think it needed loads of milk and sugar, but when I cut out most of it, and after an adjustment period, I found it was still very drinkable.0
-
Hot & black. I used to work with a guy that would get a cup of coffee from the pot and add an additional tablespoon of freeze dryed instant coffe. Now that real coffee. He died young --- just wondering ?????0
-
Sometimes I drink it black. Most of the time I use a little bit of milk. When I want a change I will add a tbsp of nesquick powder (30 calories).0
-
I only drink one 10oz cup of coffee on the mornings I'm at work (5 days a week), so I figure I should be able to have it the way I want it! Hazelnut flavored coffee with 3 regular creamers, 1 hazelnut creamer, and 3 Splendas. It's like 60 calories total.0
-
Just plain black with a little bit of sweetener, and really hot.0
