7:30 am - breakfast, about 250-400 calories
12:00 - lunch-400-500
2:00 - snack 100-200
4:30 - snack 100-200
6:30 - dinner 400-600
8:00 - post-dinner treat/snack 150-300
This is generally my schedule with my usual ranges. I eat about 1850 per day.0 -
Meal/nutrient timing is irrelevant. Eat when it works for you.
I pretty much eat all day long. Like constantly. Most of my meals are smaller because I like to snack. It works for me.
I have other friends who prefer IF or like to eat a more structured meal plan.
Do what feels right for you.
I'm one of her IFing friends. I usually eat a large lunch and an even bigger dinner. Throw in a snack or two if I'm hungry. I have NO trouble eating 2,200 calories in my 8 hour window. I used to eat 6x per day and much prefer IFing. Do what works for YOU. And don't put eating rules on yourself. Today, I didn't eat until 12:30. But if I'm hungry (real hunger....not from boredom or emotional reason), then I'll eat whenever that is, regardless of time.0 -

Usually 2 heavy calorie meals a day. Anything else is just a snack to meet minimum intake on macros. More of IF/LeanGains style0

Same here. Your body knows when you need to eat. I pay attention to what I'm craving and try to feed what my body needs, whether it be salt, sugar, water, there's always a fairly healthy option :flowerforyou:0 -
I tend to eat 5 or 6 times each day. (Small balanced ones).
Keeps the metabolism racing.
Eating more meals in a day does not speed up your metabolism... sorry, I couldn't let that slip through.
I usually eat twice, sometimes a small snack before a workout. I do a 2pm-10pm eating window.0 -
i eat 3 times a day, My breakfast being my mail meal, so i am generally not hungry until lunch , I have stopped eating between meals, and do not eat after 8pm, hopefully i will get somewhere with losing weight. .:bigsmile:0

Breakfast 300 cals around 8am
Lunch 400 cals around 12.30
Snack 200 cals around 4pm
Dinner 400 cals with glass of alcohol 100 cals around 6.30
Dessert 200 cals around 8.30
Add to that 100 cals for semi skimmed milk for tea, coffee.
I like to keep the 200 in hand for my dessert at 8.30 as otherwise I would be starving at bed time, which is 11.30.
That makes 1700 in all which I nearly always stick to. My base line is 1240 and I exercise 450.
I am nearing goal and weight loss is down to 1lb per fortnight, but that is OK by me as it's not a race!
I enjoy my food and am a good cook which makes life easier!0 -
whenever I'm hungry... a lot!0

Historically, I have been a horrible eater. Could go all day without eating (my metabolism was DEAD), and then other days I would eat all day. I was never a breakfast eater (except on weekends), and sometime would skip dinner out of sheer laziness in not wanting to prepare it.
Now, I have not become perfect by any means whatsoever...a LONG, LONG way from it. BUT, with the help of the MFP tracking system and my MFP supportive "friends," I have been looking forward to logging each accomplishment.
I started this journey on 4/12/13.
I have been eating breakfast every day. Now that I have become more active and my metabolism is responding, I find myself actually getting HUNGRY! So to keep from binging on crap (hubby's FAVORITE pasttime that I used to willingly participate in), I am eating 6 times per day. My day looks like this:
7:30 a.m. Breakfast
9:30 a.m. Snack
11:30 a.m. Lunch
2:00 p.m. Snack
5:00 p.m. Dinner (still lazy, but try to eat a WW or Lean Cuise meal)
7:00 p.m. Snack (optional -- I usually pass this one up)
I drink 1.5 gallons of water per day. My weight requires at least 105 ounces per day.
WHAT DO YOU FIND WORKS FOR YOU??? 3 meals a day? 6 meals a day? More? Less? I am interested in learning how people are divying up their menus.

In my food diary here on MFP, I have columns for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The "snacks" is for stuff like my daily milk allowance for tea and coffee and any fruit I may have had extra. I do not stick rigidly to times of the day due to me working various shifts.0 -
Looking at my diaries, I think I tend to eat 5 times a day: breakfast (8am - 9am), lunch (11:30-12:30), snack (whenever I'm hungry in the afternoon), dinner (5:30-6:30), snack (8-10pm).0
-
I do 5 meals per day....I don't plan snacks but if I chose to have one or two, I log them under a snack tab I created and eat them when and if I want...I am generally never hungry if I am eating my meals approximately 3 hours apart. I attempt to get in 8 to 10 glasses of water per day as well.0

Usually twice a day-11am and 6pm.0
