Loosing weight doesn't reduce breast size!

I got measured about a week before I began to lose weight and I was a 38D, today after losing 30lbs i got remeasured and i've gone UP a cup size. My band size is still a 38 (apparently I have a very large ribcage) but i'm now a DD. I asked why and she says that when losing weight boobs sometimes change shape, not get smaller, but change, and somehow i've changed in a way that made me go UP. So ladies do not fear, just because you lose weight it doesn't always mean you'll lose your boobs!!

Glad that's how it is, for YOU. Boobs are fat, when you lose fat...well you get the point..0

Hey good news, everyone else! You all measured wrong!0
-
Must be nice. I lost 27lbs and a whole cup size- I now have a non-existent chest.
Glad to see I'm the odd-man out- it's not like I've ever seen entire threads dedicated to this very subject.....

Are you sure you measured right?
ETA - Damn, posted at the same time.0 -
I am glad this was the case for you I have lost a little over 100lbs and still have a lot to go, but my breast have gotten smaller...by quite a bit0
-
I wish that were the case, but I've gone from a very full DD to a large B/small C. I need to get refitted, but they're pretty pathetic compared to what they used to be. Oh well, this is for health, right?! hahaha0
-
Glad for you, because myself and everyone I know all lost at least a cup size losing weight even when it was just 10lbs.0

ive lost about 80lbs and went from a filling out a 38c to now filling a 34d? weird.. but they are lower and less full, waaayy less full, but between the glands that are left and skin and such, once they are lifted by the bra, nothing lower than a d cup will hold the whole booby... but once i lay down, the cup is pretty damn empty..... i've started talking to the hubby about getting them done though, i feel less feminine without what i used to have, i dont feel as proportional anymore0

boobs aren't just fat though. there's also gland tissue, milk glands, collagen.0 -
I never really went down in breast size in the past when I lost, but this time my boobs have gotten so small. I used to have a hard time finding tops that fit up top because they were always too small, well lately I am finding it hard to fill my shirts properly. So I guess it depends on the person.0

I agree with both of these! They are not all fat (there is other stuff) but there is also fat that can be lost. Different for every lady! Best of luck girls! :flowerforyou:0 -
Be happy you are a special one.
Breasts contain fat. That's why they get bigger most of the time when you gain weight and WILL reduce in size when you lose weight.0 -
You're a special special girl.
Have a few kids. Breastfeed. Then lose those 30 lbs.
38C to barely 34B

You lucky, lucky girl.0

Some people's breasts contain more glandular tissue than others. Those people will see less change in the size of their breasts when they lose weight. Other people's breasts contain more fat, and those people will definitely see a decrease in breast size as they lose weight. I had huge boobs from puberty until about a year ago, and I've lost 2 cup sizes since then.0

Sure wish I could figure out how to post before and after pictures. My boobs went from huge to nothing after more than a 50 pound loss. Not complaing at all about it as I never cared much for them in the first place. Only have them when I am overweight.0
-
It could be genetic too, sometimes breast size isn't always related to weight. I've seen a lot of women who's cup size didn't change....lucky bastardss...opps did I say that outloud? lol0

mine were the forst ing togo
Good thing for plastic surgery!!!0 -
Mine have got bigger - well look bigger but that because i do lots of upper body workouts and the muscle underneath is redefining them.0

Not really that weird. Cup size and band size aren't proportional. A D with a 38 band is not the same size D with a 34 band.
And I also second the idea that you might not have been measured right. Because places DON'T measure you the real way. I'd been told I was a 38DD, when in reality, I'm a 36I. Measure yourself properly!0 -
I've lost almost 40 lbs and my boobs have not decreased in size other than the band went from 40 to 38. I wish the cup WOULD go down as I am an H. Not everyone wants them huge. I would love to be a large B/small C. It would make life so much either especially with my running.0

your the lucky one, I lost 2 cup sizes0
-
My cup used to runneth over. 118lbs later my cup definitely runneth under.0

I lost a lot of breast size, from D to B. Love it. My goal is A. Never liked big breasts. Shirts look so much better on less.0

Mine were a 36D before having kids, after they were a bit bigger, now they're probably a 34dd or e, although i haven't been properly measured. I've lost 63lbs since having my 2nd child. When I was this size before, years ago, my boobs were a bit smaller. Having kids has made mine bigger, and losing weight hasn't made my boobs small. Lucky me!0

Hey good news, everyone else! You all measured wrong!
LOL What she said !!
Most women wear the wrong size to begin with..... even smaller women sometimes need the extra cup size in order for a bra to fit properly. ALWAYS measure before you buy... it changes more often than you'd think !0 -
I have to add myself to the camp that has lost breast size with weight loss, but I'm actually OK with it. I went from a 38F (was actually considering breast reduction) to a 38DDD (probably could go with a 36DDD but haven't bought new bras in a while). They're a little more saggy than they were, but after breastfeeding 3 babies they weren't exactly perky before the weight loss. Nothing a good bra won't fix, right? Maybe I'll splurge on a breast lift instead of the reduction. :blushing:0

WHO STOLE MY BOOBS?0
-
****looking down...peaking into shirt*** Nope, can definitely say my girls have left the building and don't think they will return. I was a very full 34DD and *gasp* probably am a 32 full B or small C at this point (after a 12 lb loss). My mother commented the other day though and said my boobs actually looked bigger because my waist is smaller. I was pleased with that comment. I'm having a much easier time finding shirts that fit my chest, running is less uncomfortable and my hubby isn't complaining (he just calls they kitties now instead of puppies)...because kitties are smaller than puppies:P Whatever...he's a goofball!0
