I just finished week 2 and I have improved a lot since staring, I'm running more comfortably and I didn't look at the countdown timer at all during todays run, next week though is a whole different story I have to start with 3min runs, 90 seconds have been interesting so we'll see how I go on that.
Stick with it I've noticed a difference in such a short time.

My niece & nephew started this in the Fall and ran their first race this month. They look and feel great !0

thanks for all the support guys, just finished day 3 myself and it beat me down, well I also workout at home before running which is part of my problem, But in the end it will only make me stronger, I just gotta keep pushing
I plan to go to vegas in September and one of my gaols is to get back to the weight I was when I went the last time, back then I was 220, when I started working out in april I was 261 and now down to 245, so ive made progress, still got a ways to go though, wish me luck guys0 -
I finished week 3 this morning but I think I'm going to repeat it because I don't think I have the stamina to do week 4! I looked ahead and saw that I'm supposed to run one segment for 6 minutes and I've had a hard enough time doing the 3 minutes. I don't know if I should just forge ahead & try it but my common sense is telling me I should take another stab at week 3 before moving forward. Also, I'm a lot older than most of you!0

If you finished week 3, you are ready to do week 4. Don't sell yourself short. Also, don't worry about your age. People older than you have started running by using this program.0 -
Just finished W1D3. This is my second time doing this tried last summer and got to week 4. I'm doing this on top of body revolution (I'm in week 9) and walking on off days of c25k. Good luck everyone!0

Finished the program last week! I love it. It has completely transformed my body!
Love hearing this stuff. It pumps me UP!0 -
I admire all you for doing the program..I guess I am just a chicken.. I told myself I would if I lost 50 pounds(5 pounds ago) so I wouldn't hurt myself ..now I am saying when I get to 150. (5 pounds away) sigh I think I am just putting it off because I think I will fail.
I don't want to be a runner so much as a jogger. I am 40 years old and want to be fit. I don't want to look like a 40 year old trying to be a 25 year old again.0 -
well today waan off day so I went on another 30 minute walk, might just take tomorrow as a real rest day since I start week two on Monday...
and don't hold off, no real reason too, I don't run by any means, I jog and am still beat after it, just pace yourself, I feel like once I can build the stamina to run 20 minutes straight, I can worry about my pace later.
also you cant fail, and as many have done, if you feel your not ready for the next week, just redo a week, no one knows but you and the app, and the app wont say anything, it can keep a secret, lol (as long as you don't post to facebook)0 -
I did w3d3 yesterday on a track. Turns out it's much easier to run on the flat smooth surface of a track than on a trail- I made it over a quarter mile further than on the trail/ paved path and almost half mile further than on straight trail! I'm looking forward to starting a new week though I know it's going to be tough. I turned 30 today so it'll bea great way to start off a new year.0

I really want to try this program, but I am totally out of shape. Like, embarrassingly so. If I were to try it, it would definitely be on the treadmill (highs here in the upper 90's this time of year). But even on the treadmill, I can barely jog at 4 mph for more than 2 minutes (albeit at an incline). I'm thinking when they say "COUCH" to 5k, they don't really mean serious couch potatoes like me.0

Hey all!
I started yesterday and as I am a newbie to 'proper' exercise, I need the support and encouragement. I found out I am majorly unfit and very very slow but I really enjoyed it and I'm so proud I've done it. I actually can't wait to go tomorrow!
Please add me!!0 -
im doing it, but really slowly. ive tried it before and i just got overwhelmed when the running stints got longer. this time i'm really taking my time because i WANT to be able to run, and i dont want it to be too scary0

I'm doing the zombie version. Started C25K last year but ended up with severe shin splints and then health problems took over. Went back to it five weeks ago and took a week of last week as exams ( although I did run with my sis in law) and should have been on week 5 this week. however I've been having problems with groin pain so trying new trainers out so sticking to week 4.0

I myself was a serious couch potato, spent most of my free time playing halo and call of duty, and my job is a desk job, but I have started it, albeit im only in week two, actually just completed week2 day 1 but im trying
I run on a track as well, when it gets longer ill have to switch to a trail though, I know when I hit the end of a lap, I loose motivation to run, I always do, so I need to increase the lap radius past 1/4 mile to really progress0 -
This has been something I've wanted to try; but it makes me nervous. For starters I've got a messed up foot, but part of me wonders that if I start at this slowly I can get my foot to "learn" to deal with the pain. I've also never ever been a runner.0

I am starting week 5 this week. Been doing great, but nervous about this week as I am supposed to start running for 5-8 minutes straight. I'll miss Friday since I will be camping, but I will probably redo week 5 next week to make up for it.0
-
Tomorrow will be week5 day one for me! Looking forward to it! I really enjoy this so far and I never in a million yrs thought I would say that about running! Hope it helps me lose this last 10 lbs as well!!0

One thing I noticed in the 8 and 20 minute runs is that I (and others) started to get kind of tired a few minutes in. That will probably happen to you, but keep going! If you can push past the start, you'll be fine. Getting a longer run started is the hardest part because your body is still getting in the groove and getting your pace going.0 -
I finished week 9 last week! In week two, I thought I was going to die during my first 90 second run. But at the end of it all, I ended up running five extra minutes after the last 30 minute run was up just because I felt I could! I've started looking into 5Ks in my area to run this summer!0

I will do Week 6 Day 2 tomorrow. Great program for a non-execiser like me!
Best advice I ever got was go to a running store and get properly fitted running shoes as soon as you possibly can. Everything else can be worked around.0 -

I finished week 6 yesterday and week 6 was a surprise each day! I too jog more than run, but I can feel the difference in my endurance with each run. Love this program and I am not afraid that I will hurt myself.0
-
I did it a little over a year ago. Great program!0

Just starting this program today!!! Going to need all the help and luck I can get!!!0

I totally flopped today on w4d1 so I'll be trying again for it Wednesday.
To everyone worried about being out of shape- that's the point! You start at the bottom and build up. You can even add in a couple weeks building up to the first week of the program. Don't be afraid to go for it, it really does get easier.
I got partway through last year on the treadmill and then switched outside when the weather got better until I got sick and stopped. It took a couple weeks to adjust to outside.0 -
well today is a rest day so went for a 15 minute treadmill walk, I may walk another 15 after work though, feeling some type away about tomorrow, week 2 day 1 beat me up so bad I am afraid, but I will still enter the ring head held high, lol0
-
For anyone that doesn't have an app. There's a good reference here for timing. And it has check boxes for when you complete a day.

I finished week 3 yesterday and really not looking forward to week 4. Looks tough. I'm finding my running is getting better but even just the 3 minutes kills me. Still so much prefer the shorter bursts. How did it go today, where did you struggle and did you just walk it out or adjust the run time and try to keep some?
I HATE RUNNING!0
