I chose mine based on the body fat percentage I want. Check out this website:
http://www.builtlean.com/2010/08/03/ideal-body-fat-percentage-chart/
It has links to pictures of people at different body fat percentages so you can get a rough idea of how you'd look at any given percentage, and a formula for determining your ideal weight for the body fat percentage you want to achieve. I'm shooting for 22%, which calculates to 160 pounds. I'm thinking I may shoot for a little lower than that but we'll see when I get there.0 -
Focusing on Body Fat % my goal is 160 - 170. dr agrees that 170 should be my goal. In college I was 160 with 18% body fat, technically overweight. I don't have near the muscle mass now that I did then, but I still am fairly muscular.0

I'm 5'5 or 5'6 ... I'm not really sure *Ü* I hit 135 several years ago, and would love to get there again. I was able to fit back into my wedding dress. But that said, as the scale slowly slid up over the years, I still felt fine at 140, 145, even 150. I was actually quite surprised that I still felt good at those weights (especially going UP). But as it progressed past that, I could see it in my face, arms and more of the ol'muffin top. So starting here at 180 in May, I'm down to 168. I really hope I can at least get to 150 before I hit a plateau or slip. I'll keep trying to get to 135, but I think I'll be satisfied if I can get to 150.0

I'm 29 and 5'5. My ultimate goal weight is somewhere between 150-160lbs to be determined once I get close. Right now, I'm just focusing on getting in Onederland!0

I think its about finding your happy place tbh. My original goal when I was 187 was to be 150, now i weight about 127-130 and I feel good. I'm about 5'5 and most of my weight lingers in my hips and thighs (Pear-shape) so this weight doesnt look bad on me nor do I look unhealthy. When I reached 150, than 140.. I still wasn't happy with myself, that's how I knew it wasn't my happy spot. Taking age into account, i'm only 22 and I hear that when you're older, it's best to have a little more weight on you because your natural muscles start to depreciate with age.0

Im 5'5" and my goal weight was 140. I am not there yet but right now I'm focused more on inches.0
-
I am 5' 5" and my goal weight is 147. I picked this because it was the weight that I had felt healthy and happy at before I gained. No other reason!0

I'm 5'5" and weigh 151. Goal is 135 pounds which I haven't been since high school. I'm striving for more than a goal number, I want to feel good in clothes and lose the rolls that hang over my pants! Strangely enough I wear a size 6/8 at this weight. I guess it all depends on where you "wear" you weight.0

I'm 5'6" and currently 36 weeks pregnant and 142lb. My goal weight is around 120-125lb with my body fat at 19-21%. I have a small frame. I was at 125lb when I got pregnant and was working on toning at that point which I have to defer for a while0

I'm 5'5.5 and my goal is 130 or a comfortable size 4-6. Depends on what I get to first. I mostly just want to lose inches and be that size. If I make it there and weight 140-145, that's fine by me.0

I'm 5'5" and I started this with a goal of 154, because I figured that would only be a few pounds more than when I met my husband at 18 and I didn't think it was realistic to think I could get down any further.... I'm not a teenager any more! Now that I'm 8 pounds away from that first goal, I believe I can go further. Once I get down to 154, I will see how I feel but I am thinking of trying for 144.0

I'm 5'5.5" and I want to get down to 145ish.0

I am almost 42 and have shrunk a little so I'm around 5'5" now. My goal is 145. As an adult I've weighed between 105 (severe anxiety and depression - not a good look) to 180 following a pregnancy (also not a good look). In an evil twist of hormone fluctuations, I actually weighed about 170 when I delivered last June, and then gained 10 lbs. while I was breastfeeding - common knowledge states that breastfeeding is actually suppose to help one LOSE weight.
Anyway, I have felt and looked my best in the 128-145 range. When I reach 145, I will determine whether I want to push further. I acknowledge that I may naturally carry a little more weight in my 40s than I did in my 20s and 30s. I am more interested in how I feel and in once again becoming fit and active. I took a 5-10 year sabbatical from exercising, prior to which I ran nightly, did weights, and walked a lot. How the mighty have fallen. It is time to pick up the pieces!0 -
I am 5' 6" and right now I don't have a goal weight..that is a final destination. I have been focused on getting stronger and eating better. I began at 205 a year ago. At present I am 190. I set MFP for a. goal of 180. When that happens. I'll 're-evaluate. I am less focused on the scale than health and fitness goals like holding a plank for a minute, lifting X amount, eating x servings of veggies,etc.0

I'm not sure yet but I think somewhere between 150-1600
-
I'm just under 5'7 so some people round me up to 5'7 or down to 5'6..
Present weight is 140lbs and 22% BF
Goal weight 135lbs with 20% BF (if possible) but not any lower..0 -
I'm 5'6/7 and my initial goal was 140lbs but probably aiming for around 135lbs0
-
I am 5'6" and my goal is 135. I am an apple shape and that is the maximum weight I can carry before starting to look "fat." Prior to having children that was my steady weight for years. I have a very long haul to get back there but that is my goal.0
-
i'm 5'6 currently somewhere between 135-140
and i want to be under 120lbs. would be ideal but i have not put in the muscle I want to gain0 -
I'm 54, and 5'6". I wanted to get to 125 because I have weighed that in my younger years. My lowest weight was about 110 before kids, etc. I am currently hovering around 128, and I like where I am. I weighed 146 when I started dieting, and I felt pretty big. My husband says I have a small frame.0

Read one of these threads for 5'3" to 5'5", but curious more for my height. I'm almost 5'6", and my goal WAS 155, but according to this site: http://www.rush.edu/rumc/page-1108048103230.html (picked up from other thread) says I should be looking more toward 117-143.
I know that body types vary greatly, but women at my height, what's YOUR goal and how did you choose it?
I'm 5'7 (I know that's a touch taller) I'm aiming for 150 155. I'm athletic and have a large frame and am naturally very muscular, I'm an athlete, it happens. As long as you're happy that's the most important part.0 -
I am 5'6 and my goal weight was 130! I have reached that and I am now 127, looking to get a six pack!!0
-
I'm shooting for 190 at the moment. I'm giving myself 2 years to complete since I have over 100LBS to get there. From there, we'll see! I don't think I want to go much below 160 though.0
-
I'm 5'5 and hoping to get to 145 but started at 245 so that would give me a 100lb loss but my ultimate goal weight is probably around 125-130 but kinda depends how I feel and look when I get to 145..currently at about 1520
-
My origional goal weight was 135 (started at 172 or so several years ago). That changed to 125. I have been between 117-127 for several years now. I feel best around 122.
Edited to ad that I am 5'60 -
I am 5'5 1/2" and GW is 170...have large bone structure...docs told me 168 to 180 should be just right...Once was down to 202 with clothing size 12-14....0
-
I'm 28 and 5'5" and currently am around 128 pounds. My goal weight is 120 but I'm starting to weight train so I'm not super focused on the number.0
-
i'm 5'6 my current goal weight is 180 but will reassess when i get there, probably ultimate goal would be closer to 150.0
-
I'm 5'7 and shooting for 160 (although my body doesn't appeary to want to go below 170). Ugh! :blushing:0
-
I'm 5ft, 6in and my goal weight was 135lbs (what I weighed on my wedding day, 11 years ago).. However, I continued to lose after I started transitioning into maintenance and my weight has stabilized at 125lbs. I'm 34 years old and have three kids, and look and feel the best I ever have0
