Age 44, 5'5.5" goal weight 145 for now--but think I'd really like to be 138-140.

In college I was 133 but was swimming/lifting weights 3-5 hours a day.
I was 140 before getting pregnant 14 years ago.

And currently I am at 152 and size 10/12. I really want to know what brand of clothes those of you who are in 4/5 or 5/6s wear. :>

I'd like to point out that I am a size 10/12 (probably much smaller in oversized brands like Gap) and weigh about 18 or so pounds more than you. It is all in how/where we hold our weight. When I get to 145, I expect to be in a size 6/8.

My goal was 120 pounds which I reached today. I am 5'5 but I decided that I wanted to go for 120 pounds. Not sure if I will go much lower just depends on how I feel/look when I reach my second goal.

Everyone's different. I'm 5'6" and was 119 when I got married 13 years ago. On my frame the 119 was too thin. So see where you are at but I will tell you--lower than 120 is more bony than curvy.

The formula is 100 lbs for 5' tall and 5 lbs for each inch after that. So, at 5'6" that would be 130-135. That's why 120 often looks too thin on a 5'6" frame.

I've been 115-120 before and was thrilled with it. Although that was pre-pregnancy and 11 years ago! We'll see. I'm eating near maintenance, so any loss is due to working out.

I'm 5'6" and my ultimate new goal is now about 125 (my first goal was 140, though, it just wasn't enough).

I've promised myself to never go over 135 again.

I am 51 years old. As an adult, I have yo-yo'd between 122 and 180 several times. In my last quest to lose weight, my goal was 140. I achieved that, for about a month. At that time, I was going to the gym for 2 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. I was also watching my calories like a hawk. I always felt like I was depriving myself and it was too difficult to live a "normal" life. I cut my gym time in half and generally eat healthy, with an occasional splurge now and then. I have successfully maintained my weight between 145-150 for two months now and I feel great. My body fat is at 22% and my metabolic age is 40.

I'm 5'6'' (+ a liitle) & my goal weight a couple of years ago was at the very top of what is considered "healthy" for my height on the BMI scale: 155.
As my weight recently got to the highest point ever in my life, I noticed that even if I lost 100 lbs I would now still be within the healthy range (right in the middle actually,) so my end goal is 138. I have a pretty long way to go, but I know I can do it!

I am 5'6 and going for 140-145, for me that is around a size 4-6 and its very thin for me.

Amazing how different we all are! That for me is a size 8-10 and size 30 waist.

5' 5.5", 122 lbs, 23% BF, size 4 in that photo. I'm 24 years old. I'd like to get under 20% BF, which I'm guessing will put me at 115-118 lbs and a size 2.

A lot of women on here are saying they're shooting for 140-150; I looked and felt fat at that weight and had a hard time finding flattering clothing. I'm not particularly small-framed, either... It's just my body type and where the extra weight goes. Use the scale as one of many tools to gauge progress, and stop losing when you're happy with how you look and feel. The actual number is pretty irrelevant and hard to compare to other people.

I agree! I was just thinking that, too. All the clothes in my closet from when I was 140 and looked good were size 8-10, about a 29" waist. 38C chest with conventional measurements. (34DD with proper measurements!)

I'm 5'5.5" (YES I like to add that extra 1/2 inch  ) and my goal weight is 135 pounds. Actually I'd love to be 125 pounds, but I just dont' think I could ever get that low.

I'm just under 5'6" and aiming for 150 because they would put me in the "healthy weight" category. It would be great to be under 120, like I was when I got married, but that was 33 years and 7 babies ago so I'm trying to be realistic :)

My goal is 125-135ish. I chose this because I remember the body I had at 125lbs. But I was not in shape or fit. Since muscle weighs more than fat, I figure I will be fine at this range.

I am 5'6" and my goal weight is 155-160. I have curves and I don't look right any lower than 155.

I'm 5'6 and currently around 155lbs and a UK size 10/12 which is a US 6/8. I'd like to be about 145, but my personal trainer says I don't need to lose a lot more, just tone up. He said my face will look gaunt if I lose too much more. Most people are surprised that I weigh as much as I do.

I have a smaller frame and am 5'6 but very large boobs even when I'm thin so 160 is my goal weight. I don't see 140 as being realistic. I would like to say 150 but I just don't see that as realistic right now either. 160 will be where I strive and when I hit that maybe I will start a new journey to 145 or 150 depending on how I look/feel.

I was always told that at 5 feet you should weigh 100 pounds, and 5 pounds for every inch thereafter. That's quite thin at my age; I'm not sure I can get back to that skinny. It's better if you look at health issues; I"ve heard that losing 10% of your body weight is good to prevent diabetes, heart issues, etc. when in doubt ask your doc. I set my goal to lose 30 pounds as a start, that'd put me at 5/6 and 160 although I'd like to be 150 or better, but that may not happen. What's important is the amount I've lost, not so much where I am now. average frame. I've kind of stalled at the moment, not quite as obsessive at charting as I was orginally.

I'm 5' 6" with a goal weight of 150. Currently at 158 (started at 171.5), size 10/12 with a medium frame (long legs). Twelve years ago I was at 145 and very pleased with my overall look, but now that I'm older (56) not sure if I can maintain 145. Obviously I didn't maintain it in my 40's either but that was before I knew about MFP and changed my lifestyle. I got to 145 by crashing and starving all those years ago. Anyway, heading for 150 for now and will see what happens next.

I was at one time 5'7", but after 2 spinal surgeries I am down to 5'6". The lowest I ever was as an adult (25) was 136. I was super lean at that time and was at the lowest possible weight my body could carry and not look sickly. At almost 50 now, I don't see myself ever getting that low again, but 145 would be fabulous! I will be happy with 150-155 to keep me in the healthy BMI range.
I carry about 10 more pounds than the average woman my height due to my muscle mass, and 'girls'. lol

    I'm 5' 5.5"

I want to be anywhere between 128 lbs to 145 lbs
I set my MFP goal to 140 lbs and once I get there I'll figure out where to go from there!

I /think/ I have a medium size frame and from what I can tell my hips will always be pretty wide no matter how much weight i lose.

I also want to be semi-muscular, so I put my goal in the heavier side hoping it will be muscle weight too
  • It all depends on how my body feels/looks. If i am fit and have a good body fat % then i will maintain. I would like to look fit and not jiggle. lol

5'6", with an original goal of 140 lbs. I'm currently 148, but have a high body fat %, so my main goal is getting that down and tracking inches lost, which judging by my body now I'd estimate 135 would be about where I'd like to stay.
