why do you give a fudge what anyone else eats?

my macros were set like that for a while. i think it's pretty standard for mfp actually i've just never heard it referred to as a road map.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912920-in-place-of-a-road-map-3-2013
This is the article. I'd read it a few times and It just recently stuck... I'm giving it a try!
The road map can be an amazing tool for some. I looked into it at one point, did all the calculations...for me (stupid body) the 2 different BMR calcs on the fat2fitradio site were so far off from one another that even Dan couldn't tell me which one to use (there's a spreadsheet too, don't know if that carried over onto the newest version of the thread). But I'm losing weight steadily using MFP guidelines so I'm okay with that for now!
I know what you mean!! My one BMI was 29, my other was like 45!!0 -
I dont give a crap until people start writing boo hoo I cant lose weight threads on here asking what theyre doing wrong and then you see all they eat is doritos and ice cream and log in housecleaning as exercise so they can eat those calories back in ding dongs.
LOL so true. And logging driving their car. And reading.0 -
Personally, I don't. Hence why I don't look at other people's diaries and don't share mine. I am here to give/get support. If someone is specifically asking for food ideas or help, I'll give my input where I can. Other than that, their intake is their business.0
-
I only care and question if there's pictures and it looks delicious. "Ooh, what is that? It looks yummy." Also, I typically don't comment on diaries, unless I am asked to.0

No. I won't do paleo. I like pancakes. Works for you? Sweet *kitten* keep it up man!
You ate a whole box of twinkies today? Oh it fit in your macros? Sweet!!!!
Oh you're a low carber? Awesome....I like pancakes....
etc. etc. etc.
If someone is asking for suggestions, fine give them to them. But why criticize someone else for what they put in their own mouth?
*end rant...carry on
[sarcasm font] Because if you're not like me, then you're obviously in need of the wisdom that got me to my current level of amazing. [/sarcasm font]
But seriously, public forum statements inevitably lead to public forum responses, both those in support of and those against. Annoying though it may be, it is the way of the internet. People are typically either trying to shill for a product in a way that benefits them, they are trying to help others avoid mistakes that hurt them, or they are just obnoxious. It's a side effect of liberty.0 -

Yep. Cue the next post of: 'Why do people close their diaries, aren't we all on here to share and learn from each other and yada yada yada'. Because this. That's why!0 -
You signed up for a social website that lets you share what you eat. Judging will inherently be in our DNA otherwise without judgement skills we wouldn't be able to assess dangerous situations, die, and therefore not continue as a species.
If you don't want people getting butthurt over what you eat don't bring it up. Problem solved.
i really think there is a huge difference in judging dangerous situations and judging people by what the eat but ok.0 -
Well said!!! I was ordering chips, and my mother in law said, you cant have them!! I said yes i can!! and i did and i still lost weight! boom!0
-
I don't comment on the eating habits of others because I know what works for me and that may not be the way to go for another person. If vegan, paleo, 1200 calorie works for you, then great! As for me, I've decided to simply eat smaller portions (especially if I know a food is high in calories/fat, etc) and choosing healthier options (like taking an apple for lunch instead of chips) and I pretty much don't deprive myself (I have a Hershey kiss every day to satisfy my sweet tooth). My weight loss might be slower than other people's but I'm still going in the right direction.0

I really don't care how anyone else eats, but sometimes I might chime in if someone wants an opinion. Personally, I eat in such a way that works for me; If I want advice I'll let you know.
Now, enjoy your cakes, cookies, pop tarts and twinkies while I go over here and enjoy some delicious bacon, eggs and steak.0 -

I don't really care what anyone eats or what program they're following however if they're complaining that they're not losing weight or that they can't figure out what's wrong and all they're eating is junk -- candy, cake, fast food etc -- then I'll criticize. If they're just minding they're own business not doing anything I really don't care.0 -
Oh come on. You and I both know the ONLY way to lose weight IS MY WAY :-)
The world of fitness has more dogma than an organized religion.
If people knew it was about trying to avoid too much processed food, who would buy the diet books?0 -
-
I couldn't give a flying rat's *kitten* what other people eat, as long as they're not eating my food.0
-
NUTELLA !!! Not really fudge but close IMO...that stuff is good. Not bad for you in moderation.0
-
I do comment on my friends' diaries just as they critique mine from time to time. I don't go and look at a perfect stranger's diary and comment on it. If you want me to be your MFP friend, I take that seriously and am going to tell you if I feel like you are not doing yourself any good.0
-
I only look at someone's food diary when they ask what am I doing wrong I'm not losing any weight. Even then I rarely give any input. I closed my diary when someone sent me a message complaining that I ate too much dairy. Its no ones business what I eat, when I eat it or how much of it I eat. I could care less what anyone else eats.0
-
Because everyone seems to honk their way is the best way,
As long as I see the results I want I do what I want.0 -
You make too much sense. Therefore you don't belong here.

Because therotically people are here to change thier eating habits for the better.. If I see you making unhealthy food choices consistently I will call you out on it. If you don't like it, don't be my friend. I expect the same from my friends on here. maybe that person has no idea they are making unhealthy choices. It's not about.. everyone must eat like I do.. it's about learning what is healthy and good for you.. You have the choice to ignore my advice or not.. there is also a nifty delete button if you don't like my comments. Also.. it's not about never having a goodie or unhealthy item.. its about limited them and eating healthy *most* of the time.
I don't agree with a lot of the diets out there, but if the person on it is making healthy food choices, then it doesn't matter to me what diet you are following. I'll be happy for you.0 -
:ohwell: I am not on here to bash...
I like looking at what others eat to give me ideas on what to eat as well and to eat better. That is the ONLY reason I look. I could care less if someone had a piece of cake yesterday or ate a whole cow. BUT I do like to see what "good foods" people come up with. There are WAY Too many people on mfp that bash and it gets a little disheartening.
I know I am the only person truly accountable for what I eat. It hurts me, not anyone else. But I do like it when my friends call me on the cupcake I had or the piece of pizza I had two days in a row. :blushing: :bigsmile:0 -

Boo hoo, you mean driving isn't exercise?! You mean I've got to get off my bottom and WALK to buy the doritos?0 -
THANK YOU!!!
Cosign 1000%!!
I didn't come here for "macros", "stop hating on pop tarts" & other unnecessary childish egotistical trolling.

Because it is in our nature as humans to feel like they have to "fix" others. If someone feels like they are doing it right and someone is doing it wrong then a lot of people feel like they "have to correct them". We are all adults. I dont care what you eat, when you eat it or with what utensil you use. Who cares? its not my body!0

Because ...
Someone is WRONG on the internet!0 -
Maris, I have comment that your before and after pics are pure motivation! Great work girl!:flowerforyou:0

I don't trust people who don't eat chocolate, so yeah, I check and judge.0
-
Yeah it weirds me out to have my diary open. And I feel weird looking at other people's food diaries. But sometimes I look and if they has some delish noms in there I comment "I want to eat that."0
-
I've always wondered why people care about what I eat if I mention it....0
