Here's a recipe for homemade pizza sauce I developed by combining elements of several other recipes I found on the web.
Tom's Pizza Sauce
1 (10 ounce) can tomato puree
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon anchovy paste (optional)
1 tablespoon onion flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes (optional)
salt to taste
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. Gently simmer covered for 10 minutes. Allow to cool before using.
Makes about two cups.

That actually looks good. I'm hungry right now for one of those. Lol0

Just curious - how filling is it? Do you serve with a side salad? (Wondering if it would be enough to tame my appetite!) :happy:0

YUM! Thanks so much for the recipe! I'm so going to see about making this!0

In the last two weeks, I have made three of these flatout pizzas [though I bought the light original bread rather than the italian]. I add a little goat cheese for protein as well as my new favorite thing: turkey pepperoni. Coupled with the goat cheese, that brings me to nearly 20 on the protein scale not counting the bread (3) and other ingredients. I am definitely full after one pizza, though tonight I had some cooked spinach on the side. Such a great dinner.0

Thanks for posting this...made them Wednesday night - I just put a little pizza sauce, fresh mushrooms, few spinach leaves & mozz on mine and my son just had mozz on his and we both loved it. (My son rolled his up like a burrito) Really satisfies the pizza crave...
Make sure you spray & bake your flatout 1st for 7 min and then take it out & add toppings and bake for 15 min. My BFF didn't and just prepared it and stuffed the whole thing in the oven and her crust wasn't crunchy.....LOL

I've never tried pizza on flat out bread but I do love to use Pitas for personal pizzas.
I'll have to give this Flat Out bread a go.0 -
I'm not too keen on the fresh spinach... but I bet it would be good with some fresh basil leaves. (And basil is also a vegetable, technically!)0
