Good morning everyone! I am starting to feel thinner and it is exciting. Yesterday at the party I wore a Spanks thingy under my clothes and it actually worked. (Usually I just feel like Sausage Lady, lol!) I ate over my "to lose" cals last night, but it was really healthy & small amounts and I truly was very hungry. I peeked at the scale this AM and I'm still losing. I'm probably more active than I put down in my profile, but I'm going to leave it that way. I am anticipating a loss tomorrow morning, so I'm gonna be super good all day today. Can you believe it was just last Monday night that I stuffed myself at the casino buffet?! Goes to show you don't have to be PERFECT for this to succeed.
Jessica way to do your best at breakfast. Not too much damage done. Could have been much worse!
Gail, did you get a scale yet?
Marcie, how are you doing? How are your mom and sister? Hang in there. Good job running even with all your problems going on! Way to take care of yourself!
Tamara good job going running! Impressive!
Lkm111 please join us. Just start posting. Add us as friends too. You are one of us!
Deneen I am very very impressed you are doing the 30DS! Wow, the thought of it scares me, lol!
Bobbie, keep being good. Almost to your special day.
Did I miss anyone? If so I'm sorry. Just waking up!
Today I will do my first day of C25K, clean my house for company tomorrow, and study lots of Spanish!0 -
I just posted this on the C25K thread where there was a discussion about carrying necesities with you when you run. I thought I would repost it here since we have runners here too.
Here's my method of carrying all my stuff when I run: My husband is super paranoid and overprotective, and he was making me run with not only my cell phone but also a tube of pepper spray. Since he was making me do that, I made him take me to a running store to buy a very nice quality little teeny runner's fanny pack for $20. It holds my phone, keys, and a photocopy of my drivers license with emergency phone numbers written on the back. The pepper spray clips onto the elastic belt. The belt has clips for race numbers too. It's water resistant and has a cozy soft backing. Very nice. The only bad thing is that with the elastic wastband it tries to bounce up and down from all that weight, but i wear it in back and tuck in inside the back of my spandex running pants/shorts. That holds it firmly in place and I don't know it's there. I'm really happy with this system and highly recommend it. And I gotta say, I do feel safe and secure armed with the pepper spray, phone, ID, and emergency phone numbers. The pepper spray was mainly prompted by two pit bull attacks on people we know - my sister on her bike was bitten in the leg by a charging pit bull and my son's girlfriend was walking her little dog and a pit bull attacked it. However I like having it in case any creepy guys are around. I wear my ipod on my upper arm.0 -
I haven't posted on this thread in a while, but I'm still here! Last week was rough due to school starting back up (I'm an elementary school teacher). I shouldn't have gained anything, but I doubt I lost anything.
But I'm determined this week will be better! I started week 3 of C25K and did a circuit training dvd. Seeing the exercise posts of people here has motivated me to do more. I'm so very glad I saw that Today show segment.0 -
Just a quick update....My mom is still in ICU...surgery tomorrow....long, long story....I'm just drained right now...I'm sorry I'm not eleborating.
I have managed to stay on track, but it has been extremely hard. Last night I almost lost it, but I made it. Today has been just on the go all day and did not really plan my meals because of the craziness, but I have stayed on track as well.
Shari, I got your message thank you for checking in on me. To be honest with you I need to re-do the 3 day challenge. Even though I have not cheated, I did not do anything extra as you did. But it did help to keep me on track.
Thanks to all who have sent their well wishes...It truly means alot to me.
I plan on getting my walk/run in later today. Hopefully it will help with all this stress.
Talk to you all tomorrow!0 -
no scale yet those back to school needs came first for this weeks budget and part of next unfortunately but setting aside a lil for a scale. i get to go in for a check up Thursday so i will know if i truly have actually have lost something other than my sanity. the first few weeks of the kids returning to school always has me running all over looking for the elusive yet most important supply those darn 3 brad folders with pockets.i always seem to hit the store after they run out:laugh: but i have to work extra hard this week i have to make sure i can have fun with my son at a scholarship banquet next Friday the tenth.
i would love to give away my "cleaning bug" to a few people mainly my sons .... but once i get on a spree im going to finish it .
Marcie i will keep your mom in my prayers along with my dad as his heart is having to be monitored again its out of rhythm again after stent surgery repairs.0 -
Welcome back Karen. Good to have you back. I remember you starting the C25K. That's great that you are keeping up with it. I'm doing it too, as is Marcie. (Can't remember who else, sorry.)
Marcie and Gail, I'm so sorry to hear about the stress you've both been going through. I know whenever you have someone in the hospital or any serious medical problems, it is such an emotional roller coaster. Hang in there and keep taking care of yourselves.
Marcie, don't worry a bit about the three day challenge. This was not the right time for you. We can do it together some other time when your life settles down.
I did W3D1 of C25K. I was a little aprehensive because there were two 3 minute runs in there, but I did fine. In fact, I walk/jogged to the local fruit stand which is 2.4 miles away, got a few things, then walked home. That was pretty exciting.
Now to be good the rest of the night. After tomorrow I'm switching my weigh-in day to Friday like Tamara and Bobbie. I really don't like having to be so strict on the weekends.0 -
I just wanted to share my excitement before bed. I was walking past the clearance rack at walmart and lately, ive been looking and finding nothing, but today I found some bermuda stretchy type shorts. I think they are like work out pants but I think thier cute. Of course because IM so short they look like capris on me but its ok. They were 5 bucks and I wasn't gonna pass it up since my favorite pair of stretchy capris have a hole in the bottom that started out tiny but is getting bigger. I was debating on the large or the medium and I was gonna go wtih the large since I wanted the blue and not grey but then at the last minute figured id get the medium and if they were too small its ok I have till next summer to get into them. Brought them home and they fit great wtih alittle wiggle room! I MEDIUM! I'm amazed seriously. Not if only my stomach would get flatter so I didnt have the hang over gut lol o well it will come in time. WOOHOO,
I also havent done the situp challange all weekend since I was doing them at night and hubby is home at night firday and all weekend so I figured I would keep up with it this week as well as whatever challenge is brought upon us. (i am scard lol). I need to do more abdominal workouts anywas.0 -
Hi All:
I am so excited to be a part of this group. I saw the Today show a while back, and did not join right then. On August 25th this past week, I had an awakening moment, "maybe hitting rock bottom", and just thought I HAVE TO CHANGE! I looked up the Joy Fit Club specifically looking for this website. I have been accountable ever since. I really like being able to track my food on the computer ect.. I haven't really excerised yet, still working on getting to that part. Right now I am suffering some colitis issues I think because I have drastically cut my diet, eating more veggies ect.. so I am not feeling the greatest, but still have a positive attitude. Thanks to all of you, this is going to be a great adventure for us all!!!!
Kim0 -
Welcome Kim! Yay, I'm glad you joined us! The Today Showers are still trickling in. You did a great thing for yourself by joining this website and this thread in particular. There is a lot of success and the positive energy really rubs off on you.
Jessica! Wow, MEDIUM!!! Holy Cow! That must feel great. I'm in XL in most things, with the rare L. MEDIUM!! How normal you must feel! congrats!
Tomorrow morning is weigh-in. I just had a healthy snack: Sliced up a fresh peach from our yard and stirred in some nonfat peach yogurt. Wow, it was heavenly. In the old days my evening snack was often two generous bowls of cold cereal. I feel much better with the fresh peach and NF yogurt.0 -
Good Monday Morning My friends, Let's see how should we start this week off???? Maybe on the right foot, bring it all back together if we have fallon off the wagon over the weekend, its time to get your seat belt back on, it time to get it back together, from reading most post everyone did pretty well, I am super proud of ya'll for that the weekend are the hardest because life for me gets in the way, I just roll with the punches those!!! Good times ahead..
Shari- Good job running to fruit stand
Jessica- Mediums??? YAY YAY YAY
Marci and Gail- Continued prayers for ya'll!!
Bobbie- the big day is almost here, gonna miss you on my run this afternoon bu gonna kick a quick run out at 4 pm..
Kim- Welcome and thanks for the support of watching the show, I had a blast as I was nervous!!!
Karen glad to see you come back to this thread!! we are here for you just keep posting..
Deneen- How are you this Monday morning, you were quiet over the weekend???
Ok everyone so I challange this week is gonna be a little much, but I think we can all do it.. Along with getting our water in, along with 25 sit-ups a day, we are gonna add 25 push ups (girlie way or not) its totally up to you. I think this is a great one as it works on your core, which is where I have issues.. So who is ready to do this??
I am I am I am...
Well everyone today is my friday at work, I need to get off here and make kiddos lunches and mine as well..I hope everyone has a fabulous day1!0 -
Just wanted to check in. I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm still here!!! It's great to see all of you, and the support on this board is AWESOME!!! I didn't have a good weekend, but still managed to lose, so I'm happy with that. Today, I'm back on track and need to boost up my exercise!! I'll make sure to add some push-ups to my exercise program and I've been doing good with my water; however, I'm not supposed to do sit-ups for medical reasons, but maybe I'll think of something else to do in its place. I like the idea of switching the weigh-in day to Friday as well, even though I already weighed in today!
I hope you all have a fantastic week, and I'll start trying to post at least once a day. Maybe I'll make that my goal for the week!!0 -
Good morning all,
Pretty exhausted from the weekend! But if you haven't already noticed....I'm down 2.5lbs for the week! YAY! finally!! Co-workers are starting to notice...they even called me "skinny" this morning!
I have another full day today....I'm confident I can stay within my calorie count! I love the will power and determination I have right now!!
I'll try to pop in later...going to the hospital about noon for my mom's surgery, but I came armed with all healthy snacks so I won't be tempted to that good ol hospital cafeteria food...yeah right!
I will have to really work on my sit ups this week...I only managed to do them 3 days....and will work hard to incorporate the push-ups.
Later guys!0 -
Ooops...I somehow managed to repost the same thing twice...so had to edit one of them.0
-
oh pushups are even worse then situps. Are you trying to kill me ? lol I will try. it will give me more reason to stick wtih that 100 push up challange. O and mine will be girly lol.
So Im stilll shocked over these medium pants and realized at the rate Im going I will be able to wear the small or even (GASP) xsmall sometime and I wont have to worry about length. I dream of the day that I dont have to cuff my pants or talkabout heming things. I just wanna put it on and not walk on it lol. Im excited and the mediums is the boost I needed in my mood. I am so not expecting much of a move on the scale this wednesday since TOM should start that day but Im gonna crack down and start exerciusing more. I may even blow up the exercise ball lol
Ive been bugging my sister to give me back my pilates videos she borrowed when I was pregnant with my daughter but uhh I dont think she has them anymore because she keeps avoiding the question. Kinda stinks becase I used to actually enjoy doing pilates and now that Im smaller I will be able to do them. I tried when I was 200 lbs and it was just not working out. Im gonna see if they still have some on demand that dont require a resistance band. HMM I should look into getting one of those or a few small weights.0 -
Good morning and Happy Monday everyone! I missed all of you over the weekend. It is so hard for me to get on here and post. I did manage to log on each day and try to log my calories. I spent Saturday and Sunday with my in laws and went to church Sunday morning. I had an awesome time with them. We went out to eat both days and I did pretty good with my choices. Saturday we went to Cracker Barrel and I had grilled catfish and veggies with no bread. Sunday we went to Ruby Tuesdays after church. I order the turkey burger minis with no mayo and broccoli instead of fries and the salad bar. I had one plate of salad with veggies, grapes, cranberries, sunflower seeds, eggs, a little bit of cheese, maybe 5 croutons, and one scoop of dressing. It wasn't the healthiest because of the dressing, but it was so good with the fruits, nuts, and veggies. I love a great salad. They brought fries with my minis and I immediately took them off my plate and sent them back for my broccoli. I did not eat one single fry and I only ate one of the minis and I was stuffed. I went ot 4 of my nephews' bday party afterwards and I had a small piece of cake. The sugar almost made me sick, but it made me want fast food. However I did not give in to temptation again. I had special K nutri grain blueberry waffles for dinner and I was good. I was under my calorie goal to maintain my current weight. It could have been better food wise this weekend, but still I am pretty happy with myself. I had a lot of temptation in front of me and I only caved once. I still managed to get all my water in and do my sit-ups over the weekend. i even got a run in on Saturday and took Sunday as my rest day.
It is Monday and I am back at it again. Tonight when I get off work I have a few errands to run. Then I am heading home to do a double workout. I am doing Jillian's No more trouble zones and then I am doing Leslie's 2 mile walk at hom with my 2 pound hand weights. I have had my breakfast and I am about to plan my meals for the day. I will stay on track this week and get in a few more great workouts before I leave on Wednesday. I am taking some workout gear with me also. The hotel has a gym and I should be able to get in a little bit of cardio. I am not a fan of running on a treadmill, but it will do. This is going to be a great week. My goal is to stay positive and get as many workouts in as possible.
I am glad to see that most of you had a great weekend and were able to stay on track.
Marcie - Awesome job on losing 2.5 pounds, especially with every thing you have on your plate right now. Also great job planning ahead and taking snacks to the hospital with you. How is your mom and how are you?
Shari - It is great to hear that you are feeling smaller. Keep it up. You are making great progress and you are helping others as well thanks to this thread. I am so gald that you started this. Friday is a better weigh in day for me because of the weekends. Weekends are the hardest and if you get off track, you have all week to fix it.
Gail - You will get the scale when you can. For now, just keep eating healthy and working out when you can. You will notice that your clothes will start fitting more comfortably or looser and that will help you feel great about your progress.
Deneen - Sorry I was gone for the weekend. I really struggle with the computer over the weekend. How are you doign this morning? Did you have a good weekend? I am sorry that you had a bad day on Friday. I will see if I can send some sunshine your way.
Jessica - Way to go on walking to breakfast and getting into a medium. That is awesome. It is amazing how all the small changes that we make can add up. Keep it up and good luck with school this week.
Robin - I am glad to see that you are posting again. Lean on us anytime that you need any encouragement. We are all here to help support each other. I am glad to see that you are still losing.
Tamara - I am going to miss our run today too. It will be next Thursday or Friday before we get to run together again. That makes me a little sad. I love our runs, but don't worry. I will be right back at it when I get back from IL. I am proud of you for running Saturday. I know how much you didn't want to. Enjoy your run today. Text me and let me know your times and when you are back. Keep it up girlie. Oh BTW I am not happy with you. I HATE pushups. They kill me bacause of my shoulders. You know how bad my shoulder is, but I will give it my best shot. If I cannot do the 25, I will do supermans or something else that are difficult for me. Deal?
Ladies...lets make it an awesome week and have a great day every day. We are in control of our moods and ourselves. We make the choices for us and we are worth it. Stay positive everyone and keep working hard. Your weigh ins are proof that it does work. Keep drinking your water and doing your sit ups. Good luck on the push ups. They are a weak point for me, but I will give it all I got. Also keep posting something positive about yourself. It really does help. Someone give me something positive for today?
Today I really LOVE my calf muscles. I feel like I am starting to have a runners legs. I was shaving this morning and even when they were relaxed, they were really solid. It was a great feeling. I am going to be in my knee length dress in just a few days and I will get to show my legs off. I have not wanted to show off my legs in a very long times. Now I will feel confident in my dress. I am so excited.
Keep up the great work everyone. Have a great day!0 -
Sorry I missed something.
Jessica - They have pilates on the ONDEMAND. Give it a try!0 -
Oooo (squeals like a little girl) I lost 2 lbs! Yay! Now to go back and read today's posts. I couldn't wait to tell the good news.0
-
OK, I've had time to get a coffee and read all your Monday morning posts. I LOVE OUR CLUB!! We are all doing well in various ways, taking care of ourselves and becoming more healthy, fit, and attractive day by day. Lots of success.
Marcie, wow! I am so impressed with you! In spite of your extremely stressful week you took care of yourself and managed to lose 2.5 LBS (!) by making healthy choices daily. Way to go! My thoughts will be with you and your family today as your mom goes through surgery. Here is a thought to help you avoid hospital cafeteria food... Have you ever noticed that hospital nurses in general are quite overweight? Unfortunately that's what happens between the stress and the cafeteria food. Whenever we go into a hospital we are in those same circumstances of stress and vulnerability to the cafeteria. (aka buffet) I'm so impressed you are taking your own healthy snacks.
Robin, welcome back! Glad you came back. it would be great if you did post every day. It not only helps you, but it helps all of us to have an active thread to turn to during tough times. The more we all post and encourage each other, the more our positive energy spirals upward.
Jessica still thinking of you in those mediums! Nice! You were talking about exercise toys like resistance bands and hand weights. I have stuff like that and I do enjoy my toys. Makes everything more fun. Maybe you could reward yourself with them as you lose weight - either weekly, or at certain goals.
I'm rewarding myself by letting myself change the picture in my ticker to show off quilts I've made, lol! This new one is the 2nd quilt I made about 9 years ago. It is cozy flannel with a polar fleece back and an outdoorsy theme. My skinny DH is always cold and he loves it!
Bobbie, thank you so much for you long thougtful posts! I am very impressed with how you handled your social eating situations heathfully and still enjoyed yourself. I love how you sent the fries away from the table. Fries are a "can't eat just one" food! Interesting how you mentioned the sugar made you crave fast food. I just realized something yesterday on my way home from the party where I did NOT eat cake. I did NOT have a craving for fast food on the way home. And that was different than usual. Usually on the way home from parties, even though I'm not hungry I'm craving fast food. My freeway exit has a whole bunch of choices too! Enjoy your pretty dress and your pretty legs when you see your DH. Oh, I'm so happy for you!
Deneen, I'm thinking of you and hoping you are doing well.
I've now typed so much I can't remember what anyone else said. I'm sorry if I forgot anything.
Lots of love to each and everyone one of my Clubbies!!!0 -
Haha, Tamara, I forgot you, our fearless leader! Glad to see you right back on track. I'm gonna start weighing in Fridays with you and Bobbie starting this Friday.
Karen, Kim, and Gail, how are you guys today?
Yes, I will try to add the pushups this week even though I have not yet succeeded at the water or situps. Just trying though is better than not.
My positive about myself: I am doing little things to keep up my appearance. I had let myself get very frumpy. So far I've gotten a pedicure and will get another soon, I've whitened my teeth a bit, got a good cut and color with highlights and I go back Wed for that, I'm trying to keep my legs fairly shaved, and I tossed out all my clothes that are ratty or stained (except on set for dirty jobs). Oh, and I had my spider veins removed from my face and love it. I have very fair skin and those purplish little veins really showed up. Lastly, I think I will get a spray on tan before Mexico. I did it once a year ago and like it.
Ok, You're probably all tired of hearing me talk! So bye!0 -
sheri- My dad was just talking about quilt making. I want to take a class. I took one smallon on the basics in school and at the library when I was younger. He was telling me about this website that sells quits made out of t shirts. Like you send in t shirts (he was looking at the harley and motorcycle run ones) and you pay them to make the quilt. they run for like 500 ucks a piece. HIs friend wants one made and thats why he ntold me to figure out if it was something I could do cuz he would easily pay me 100-200 to make it. I figure with the lower cost of supplies since the t shirts are given, it would cost way less to make it. Anyways something you should look into doing.
bobbie- last time I was looking on demand I saw some pilates so Im gonna check it out tonight after my shows. Thats the hard part. Having the motivation after everything is done in thehouse to do it. I would do it in the mornings but now my mornings are booked with school work. I definately need to work on this gut lol0 -
Shari - Congrats on the excellent loss! You are doing so good. I like the idea of changing the ticker asa reward. Very nice. Also great job on taking better care of yourself. I am so happy to hear that! It can make a world of difference! Thanks about my eating. I totally agree with you about the fries. I would not have stopped at one so I did not start at all. I wonder what it is about sugar that sets of the cravings. I passed some of my favorite FF spots on the way home and just kept on going. I tell myself you have groceries at home and you will be mad at yourself if you stop. I am so determined to stay at goal weight or below!
Jessica - I know it is hard to fine time, but you are making time for you. You have to find or make some time for you. Some of the workouts are short. Even if you could squeeze a 10 or 15 minute one in, that would be better than not doing it. Plus if you start adding them in, then they will become a part of your routine.0 -
Woohoooo!! I recruited one of my co-workers to MFP. Her handle is teemac2. You friend her and welcome her please. I'm so excited she decided to join.0
-
Welcome teemac2: I found this club a few days ago and love it, and everyone posting. I think you will too!!
I am really excited about this club and know that I will get the end results I am looking for this time, because we are all here for each other.
I am just playing it day by day, and realizing each new day means I am just that farther away from where I started from (even though it's really been only 5 days, but who's counting? ).
Have a great day everyone!!0 -
bobbie- very true about it becoming routine. I got the exercise bike from my MIL and i kept saying how I would do it and then ended u-p not doing it. Then I started saying I couldnt do it while the kids were awake and I realized I could I just didn't like the guilt I was putting on myself for taking time away from them, I soon realized that I shouldnt feel quilty because Im with them every waking moment of the day, Im sure they enjoy that half hour break lol. I know as soon as I start doing something on demand it will soon become routine. Like the bike after I started doing it I know do it as part of my routine, bike, shower, get dressed. Even if its not untill the afternoon lol0
-
Hi All, and welcome to Teemac2. (I sent you a friend request)
I am trying to get ready for company coming over in two hours. I had to walk the dogs, grocery shop, and pick my peaches that were falling on the ground. My house is still a mess. At least it's family so they can tolerate it, lol! Now I remember why I don't like to entertain... it's a lot of work!
I will be grilling burgers and serving a homemade peach mango salsa to dip tortilla chips in. My personal eating plan is to have only the burger meat and put the salsa on it, no bun. I will drink diet pepsi even though I have hard lemonade on hand as well. This is a girls night out thingy with female relatives that we do every Monday. We call it Monday Club. It started as a way to keep in touch with my dear sister-in-law after she and my brother got divorced cuz she doesn't come to the regular family stuff anymore. It has grown to quite a tradition, with my mom, sister, sister-in-law, her twin sister, and various cousins or neices that can make it. That was the group that went to the casino last week. We normally meet in a Taco Bell but have field trips to other places. They are coming to my house today to see my new covered deck, greenhouse, and garden. (Haha now you know more than you ever wanted about my Monday Club, lol!)
I'm kinda proud I made time to walk first today as busy as I am. That's different for me.
Oh yeah, my husband lost his blackberry on a roller coaster and called me to take care of suspending his service, lol. Add that to me having to Fed Ex my son's contacts to him, and their vacation is not much of a vacation for me, lol!0 -
Hello All -
Been VERY, VERY Busy today at work - sorry I haven't chimed in - as Marcie says, I was lurking...
Well, here goes....
As I mentioned, Friday was absolutely horrific for me on all levels EXCEPT for my eating - yay me! Sadly, the weekend was not much improved. The good news, I started the 30DS and didn't die... tee hee hee. However, on Sunday, as I was trying to squeeze in day 2, my husband interrupted me and I won't even tell you the not so nice things he said to me... Talk about wanting to just down a box of ho ho's and a bottle of Dr. Pepper, but I didn't I forged on...
Yesterday - we had pizza for lunch and as you can imagine that was pretty much my caloric intake for the day - if i counted everything right however, I actually came in with 2 calories to spare... Whoo hoo!
I am so proud of myself for not giving up on me these past few days. Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me and i'm not nearly as excited as I was last week (because stupid me, I stepped on the scale last night and didn't see as much loss as i wanted), but I'm hoping to still see a few pounds off. Have actually been under my calories most days. Still not getting in the exercise I NEED and actually want.
Tamara - am looking forward to the contiued situps and will do girlie pushups - I can do 10, but 25 - wheewwweey! Thanks for the continued encouragement and thanks for staying on MFP and supporting all of us and yourself, too. As you know (hence the title of our thread) - you inspire us! I would LOVE to hear your whole story some time - how long it took you, what inspired you, how you made it through the tough times, etc. Thank you again!
Shari - you always make me smile - you manage to always find EXACTLY what I'm going through... You are so honest and so wonderful and i am sooooooooo very happy for you that you are taking the time to take care of you. If you look good, you feel good - they say. Love your quilts by the way!
Bobbie - our little ray of sunshine. Hope you hang with us now that you've made your goal and again - STANDING OVATION FOR YOU!!!!!!! Thanks for checking in on me, too.
Marcie - keep your chin up and how very impressive are you to pack your lunch and keep your composure during a stressful time.
Kim - (I think that's your name) - Welcome Back and I can't tell you how very much the words "reclaiming Kim" at the bottom of your signature hit home for me - I mean WOW! That really captures it - you almost brought tears to my eyes. That is what I want - me back! There are several more things wrong in my life today besides my weight, but I think that's at the root of most and if that would fix me and my outlook - it will sure go a long way. Plus living an extra 10 years can't hurt...
Shari, I like your dream weight note...
Teemac2 - would love to have you invite me as a friend. one of my very best friends in the whole world was named Terri and we called her tmac for short... Welcome aboard.
If I've forgotten anyone, I'm sorry and I promise I am sending happy thoughts your way.
Gotta go pick up the little one - I'm late!
Good luck to all tonite and good luck to me in the morning (weigh in).
Deneen0 -
I just had the greatest phone call from my husband. He passed Battle Stations and can now be called a SAILOR!!!!!! We got to talk for 55 minutes and it just made my heart feel so good. I answered the phone and he immediately began singing to me. I teared up instantly. I love that man so much. He sounded amazing and is so ready for graduation. His division is performing at graduation and he is doing drill. He is so ready for it and to see me and his family. He told me that after we leave the base we are going straight to lunch and then straight to the hotel. He said that while on base, he can escort me, but not hole my hand. He said that we can do that as long as we do not enter the Chapel. he said that there is no touching in there. he told me we will nto even venture towards the Chapel. Oh how he makes me smile. I am so happy and so excited. He is graduating in less than 3 days. I am going to enjoy every moment with him. He even has a 4 page letter to give me that day. He said that our love kept hm strong and that he could hear me in his head the whole time. We have a connection that is unbelievable. When I saw the area code I knew it was him and my heart stopped until I heard his voice. When I heard him, I got chills over my body. I know this is probably TMI, but I never knew that love like this really existed and I am absolutely blessed to know this kind of love. I wanted to talk all about him, but he wanted to know about me. Always concerned with me. I told him I reached goal weight and I could hear the excitement in his voice and it made me cry. He is my biggest supporter, my number one inspiration, and my best friend. I am extremely lucky. God is so good to me.
Okay enough of that. How is everyone else doing?
Deneen - Please do not worry. I am not going anywhere. I will be gone for a few days this week, but I will be right back at it next week. I have worked to hard to just quit this site. Now it is time to maintain it and keep working at it. This is my life stlye now and my health. I can't just quit now. Plus I have so shine some sunshine on you! I am sorry that you are having some rough days. It will get better. Take care of you and things will improve. Just a tip though. Do not weigh yourself at night ever. You will almost always be up from where you have ate and drank through out the day. Your body has not finished processing everything yet.
Shari - Have fun at our Monday night club. I can't wait to hear how you did on your eating. I know that you will do great. You have a game plan and are ready to make good choices. Good Luck.
Jessica - The excercise bike is better than nothing. You will do the pilates. I know you will. Moving and doing something is always better than nothing.
Okay now I have to have dinner and get my workout on. I still have to do the push up and sit up challenge too, but I got my water in and I have said my positive for the day. Have a great night every one. I will check back in tomorrow morning.0 -
OK Guys, I'm pretty darn proud of myself right now! I grilled burgers for my company and my plan was to have just the meat with salsa on it, no bun or trimmings. I did but I had accidentally made them all cheeseburgers out of habit so I had a slice of cheese too which was ok. Something very interesting - the one other person who did what I did is very thin! The salsa was so good and very healthy. It was homemade peach mango salsa using peaches and green peppers from my yard. I am not a good cook, but I am trying to learn how to cook some healthy things and stay away from prepared foods. This whole BBQ was quite a change from the last one at which I planned to eat one burger, but ate TWO whole cheeseburgers with buns, fixins and all. Right now my company is gone and I am relaxing with some more of the salsa and some organic blue corn no-salt-added tortilla chips. (Which I never ate during the party due to being too busy.) Lovely, lovely, lovely to have a plan and stick pretty close to it, and come out feeling happy and proud!
Hey Bobbie, I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!0 -

I couldn't quite figure it all out, OMGoodness, I am so excited to have this. I haven't gotten involved with facebook yet or tweeting, but I sure love this thread we got goin'.
I read all the comments since my last one as was almost too tears, relating to so many of your stories. It's been an okay day today for me. Today was the 1st day of school for our kids school district, so the kids were off to school. My husband and I had a "going back to school party" whew!! That was fun!!!!
I just got done brusing my teeth, so I will not go for any munchies in the kitchen. I am under my calorie allotment for the day, and want to stay that way. I have been since I started this journey.
For those of you who have lost your weight and are at maintenance goal weight, I salute you and bow to you for hanging in there and showing us it works. I love to read your comments, it's a real inspiration.
I am not sure if anyone else is interested, but I want that Mango Salsa recipe Shari girl!! I love salsa, I actually had that today with some rice chips as a snack.
My garden consists of one tomato "topsy turvee thing" on my back deck! Ha!
We live where we have a lot of deer, so I just haven't hassled with a garden yet, but love the idea of organic veggies and fruits.
I love the idea of weighing in on Friday, so I am weighing in on Friday for the 1st time since joining. I am excited to see what it is. I will start the push ups and sit ups tomorrow. Procrastination, it's a good thing, NOT!!!0
