Hi everyone, couldn't think of the right place to post it but the recipe section seems like the most adequate fit as I am creating a "recipe" of sorts. I'm trying to make an all chocolate take on the traditional Neapolitan ice cream that has chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla thirds.

Only since someone is allergic to strawberry and everyone is a chocolate lover I am making all thirds chocolate with just different things mixed into each third.

What are your favorite mix-ins for chocolate ice cream. (*bonus points if it actually makes the ice cream look significantly different so as to make the thirds easily distinguishable when scooping and choosing.)

    **M$M's
**Trader Joe's mini peanut butter cups
    **Thin Mint cookies crushed in
    **Granola
** rice krispies....sounds weird but is actually good
**Crushed oreos:regular ones, vanilla ones, peanut butter ones or mint .
    **mini marshmallows
    **almonds

Ok so none of these are healthy but in moderation it is all good!!!

Good luck with your idea....sounds really good!!!!

Oreo's because they come in b-day cake flavor and it's a cute interesting twist.
raspberries cause they are a fave for guest of honor.

OMG, I am addicted to dark chocolate covered raisins and that was the first idea I had but didn't want to put anyone else off, but since it's in only a third I should be brave maybe and someone else might like it since I see you do.

You could swirl peanut butter (or pb2) through it, and also add in some peanut butter chips?

    Chopped pistachios, walnuts or almonds?

Mix in that dark chocolate covered fruit from Bookside? Ya know, the blueberry pomegrante or acai??

    Frozen banana chunks?

    Chocolate covered espresso beans?

There is something about mixing in salty stuff to ice cream, especially chocolate icecream that I love.

    Honey roasted peanuts
    Arare (japanese rice crackers)
    pretzels
plain potato chips (more of a topping tho)

I had the same inklings for something salty but was worried about pringles or chips getting soggy in there. Love the other ideas though, especially the nuts. that one sounds really good. and actually my mom has some peanut brittle...? hmm??

the chocolate is already made and is a huge tub amount. AFTER the fact I thought of possibley swirling something in enough to change the color of two of the thirds. Like maybe dark chocolate sauce thoroughly blended in one to make it significantly darker. THen unsure how to lighten the other one. Peanut butter doesn't seem like enough but I'm wondering how a marshmallow creme swirl would do. Never ate frozen marshmallow creme? wonder if its gets sticky or gummy when frozen?

Plus who am I kidding I fracking LOVE cocoa puffs and usually try to make any party a little bit of a throwback in some way. anything from old pics paper games from childhood to anything. This idea is SO ME.

Swirl carmel in one of the thirds?

    Candy bar 'take' maybe:

    -carmel and peanuts
-almonds and chocolate covered expresso beans or cappucino powder
-chopped up Reese's peanut butter cups and the rice krispies from above?
