Well, I guess bottled tea ain't as good as we all thought. While still better than soda, it is WAY behind brewed tea in antioxidants and (usually) brimming with sugar.

    Speaking of teas - this is my fav!

    Making ginger green tea is very simple and anyone can make it. Just follow the instructions for making two cups of ginger green tea.

    Ingredients
    Water ( 2 cups )
    Sliced ginger (One teaspoon)
    Two green tea bags
    Add honey or sweeteners as desired
    Preparation
    Take two cups of water in a pot, add one teaspoon sliced ginger, now simmer for 15 minutes.
    After removing from heat, add the green tea bags. Stir the tea bags and let this mixture settle for ten minutes.
    Remove the green tea bags and strain the mixture. Your two cups of ginger green tea is ready. You can sit back and enjoy your ginger green tea.
    For making cold ginger green tea, refrigerate the above mixture and add ice cubes.
    You can also add half a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice along with ginger in order to make lemon ginger green tea.

    I add instant Arizona Tea (from those little stick packets) to bottled water. It's better than most of those other instant mixes, but still isn't as good as the real thing.

    You can "brew" tea cold. Heard this on NPR's food show. Put a pitcher of water with 3 to 4 bags (or loss leaf in a strainer) of any tea you like in the fridge overnight and in the morning you have iced tea. It's a great way to do green tea, because it's very easy to burn green tea and get that bitter taste. I love the mango tea from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
  • I make my own iced tea (without fancy added flavours. haha) by just getting a jug. boiling the kettle, half filling the jug with boiling water to brew the bags and then filling the rest with cold water, and then add ice to each drink. I drink it like a mad woman in the summer here (it's officially SPRING! YAY!)
