I weigh daily every morning after the bathroom. I only record and log new lows however. Weight does fluctuate but I feel this is how I'm learning about my body. How my action yesterday affect the scale today. I don't freak. A few days ago I was up 6 pounds!!!! Lots of water and after lifting heavy. Past two days have been an all time new low trend.

I will also weigh most evenings around 5:00 before dinner to let my scale do its body fat & muscle analysis (this was the recommended time of day to do it). I only log new body fat lows and new muscle highs.

Keeps me accountable. I will NOT let me weight creep up on me again.....EVER! Daily it is! Just can't freak out or be unwilling to do something about it when you really feel you've gained fat (not water).

Why after a shower. I never understand this, but I see all the guys do it at the gym. Not to side track this, but you have all this water and moisture in your skin. It weighs more. Weigh dry before shower. I don't know why, but it drives me nuts. Lol

    Don't mind me. Carry on.

When I used to care about daily weight I would weigh before and after and I can not explain it one bit but I would weigh ounces less after my shower...it made no sense but it was there in red!

Now~Once a week because I'm keeping track through my pregnancy.

Before~Once a month when I got my body fat checked at my chiro office.

This is just a poll / curiosity question for the people of MFP:

How often do you check your scale?
If it happens to be once a week, do you have a certain day you check your scale on?

I checked last month. It was a bit dusty but it was still there.

Maybe once a month, if that. I don't think the scale is an accurate indicator of fat loss. I prefer to measure inches and go off how I feel.

^^^This. I refuse to even own a scale because I'd probably become obsessed with weighing daily.

Yep--this! I don't know why or how, but I've done it about 20 times now (over the past 3 or 4 months) and had that result. Surprises me every time!!!

Every day when I wake up. I know alot of people say you shouldn't, but the scale is my daily motivator and dare I say my friend? It tells me to push harder wether the results are great or not. Today I lost but not as much as I wanted, so Mr. Scale just looked at me and said extra 30 at the gym? And damn it he's right lol. But I know the scale is not the only measure of weight loss, or rather health. When the scale doesn't move I look to my inches or the fact that I can go harder and longer at the gym.

Right after I throw it. Just to make sure it is still working.

Maybe once a week, but only for my heart rate monitor so I can get as accurate of a reading as possible. As for seeing my progress, I prefer measuring myself, as weight fluctuates a lot depending on what you consume.

Sorry to say, every day. Just got into a habit of weighing myself daily and can't get away from it. I know how weight fluctuates daily, but I would rather know than not know. It works for me.

Every morning and I keep a spreadsheet so I can see what food/exercise works best for me and watch the fluctuations. I log on here when I see a new number (down) on the scale.

Nearly never. Once a month maybe. I rather go on how I look, and stuff fits then the scale number, the scale just discourages me. If I look at the scale to much it makes me get off track because I feel like it should be lower, then I end up being bad for a few days.

Its just what works for me though.

Every day in the morning. Not checking my weight for over 2 years has brought me here after all. But I check in my weight into the system to track progress once per week usually; on Saturdays or Sundays.

This is what I do as well. I also measure once a week.

I haven't had a working scale in months. My full-length mirror tells me everything I need to know while I'm waiting for my shower to get nice and toasty :)

Everyday morning. I'm not bothered by the ups and downs.

I track weight and measurements every Friday morning for MFP purposes.

Every morning - because this is a battle in case you all had forgotten - and I check once a week for the recorded weight. I find knowing every day keeps me focussed. 59lbs lost in 104 days. Hodgie x

Every three days or so to avoid being disheartened by water weight fluctuations. I want to weigh myself every day, but I resist mightily.

I check every day to make sure mine is still under the bed where it belongs!

    LMAO!

I usually try not to look too often, I don't want to become obsessed with it!
so I weigh in a log on a friday! I may check tuesday/wednesday to make sure i'm on track but usually just the once!

also make sure you weigh yourself first thing in the morning and at the same time everytime! it's better!:)

Once a week. Any more times than that and I become obsessive I am trying to keep off the unhealthy thoughts and behaviours that got me into a bad place last time

For seeing what my weight is: every morning after using the toilet.

To see if it needs an extra blanket: every night before bed.

I check the scale every morning right after I wake up and before I eat or drink anything. :) (And after I use the toilet of course).
