What are yours? The foods that you can't just eat a correct portion size of even if you try really hard?
Mine are a fresh, hot loaf of bread....pasta.....potato chips....and French fries (the burger that come with is good too .....obviously BAD carbs!
Is it better just to abstain from foods that you lose willpower around, even though its necessary to treat yourself sometimes? Opinions?
pizza0 -
I work in two restaurants, so basically anything deep fried. You can only say no to deep fried goodness for so long...0
-
Cheetos and Wine!0
-
Chips! I weighed out a serving size of 30 g once (which already has >150 cal) and it was really little. And once I start eating them, there is no stopping until the bag is empty. Can't have these things in front of me or share with A LOT of people so I don't eat the whole bag on my own xoP
Another thing is ice cream. 1/2 cup is just not very satisfying =o(0 -
McVities Plain chocolate digestives -- cant eat one - got to have the lot....0
-
Bread with real butter, especially if it is good sourdough bread, Cadbury mini eggs, thank gawd Easter is only once a year, actually most carbs are trigger foods for me and rurn my carb fairy into an evil troll that cheers me on to finish the whole carby goodness of anything in front of me! I am WAY better off never having that first bite.0

Mine is chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, it doesn't matter I like it all.
I have cut the lot out.0 -
I guilt myself too much to go too overboard. Totally talked myself out of Skittles last week. But, if I'm really stuck on something, I will have a reasonable portion and make sure I make a little more effort to burn it.
This is a lifestyle change and while I'm pleased to have discipline and can cut some things out of my diet completely (I've been a pescetarian for 20+ years) I find that most things are fine in moderation and having them keeps me on the right track so that my plan sticks.
Foolish things that I try to control? Grippos BBQ potato chips (I just don't buy them, or if I do, count out one portion and put the bag AWAY), Skittles (again, don't buy!!!) and alcohol (LOVE vodka and club soda, and pinot grigio).
That said, someone brought a giant eff off sized bag of Skittles to contribute to our food day today at work...ARGH!!0 -
I would have to say cookie dough and then have the nerve to wash it down with chocolate almond milk.
Let me stop, I am starting to drool. (lol)0 -
Mine's in the mirror. That *kitten* is a troublemaker.0
-
Home made Tacos kill me every time
And blueberry muffins
I have rather good self control most of the time but for this I just can't seem to do it if its in the house i want it
I was trying to have muffins made on hand to help when we were on the go or needed quick meal but i like them to much so i cant do it0 -
Carrot cake from a local bakery.0
-
the double-edged sword that is low calorie "treats". such as anything like a fiber one brownie or the 79 calorie chocolate cookies I made this weekend. Sweets have always been my downfall...can't stop at a true portion0
-
french fries and potato chips0
-
Sweets - cookies, bars, candy, cupcakes, regular cake, brownies...you name it. I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred, so I gave up sweets and alcohol through the 30 days. Hopefully this will help eliminate my cravings.0
-
OREOS!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
Red thai curry with jasmine rice. 1 bowl is never enough ... my tongue says yes while my very full stomach screams no ... and my tongue almost always wins!0
-
icecream! any kind, any flavor!!0
-
Nuts! I have no self control. I can't even keep healthy nuts(almonds, walnuts) in the house. Also, candy in any portion except a little bit. Typically, if my dh and I have a "sweet tooth" we'll buy candy from the bulk section at Sprouts so we are able to buy a SMALL amount. I still have sweets, but, in very small portions. I will buy a PIECE of cake, not a whole cake, same with ice cream...pint, not half gallon, etc.0
-
CE CREAM, without a doubt!!! Every day I have to tell myself not to bring a 1/2 gallon into the house. Or not to go to BK to buy a 50 cents soft serve cone. There are days that I give in to the soft serve. The only kind of good thing is that I have a hard time eating all my calories, so even with the cone I'm still under.0

Tootsie rolls...I could eat 5x my weight in them and still want more...o.O thank God I don't go to Planet Fitness...0
-
My biggest weaknesses are Chinese food and In-N-Out burgers. I mostly avoid them, but indulge about twice a month. It helps me.0

Triscuits and restaurants. Do not eat in a restaurant unless you've already checked the food out for calories, sodium ect.
Seriously, one wrong dish can totally blast you into extra calorie zone. restaurants load up on salt and fat, that's why they taste so good.0 -
My husband and I were just talking about this! Mine are: Pizza, breakfast burritos, and ice cream.
I have to agree with Project9 here, too. Eating in restaurants is SOOOO difficult for me because I like to watch my sodium and it seems as though restaurants just flavor their food with salt! Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, even Subway...they're all really high in sodium.0 -
My diet destroyer is too much cardio.
^^^This is me.
I've got really good self control when I'm feeling well and rested. But ,in the past, I'll want big numbers to show on the scale and 4 days into a diet I'll start doing 2.5hr power-walks and go home shaking because I'm starving so bad and "reward myself" with 2 cheeseburgers which equal 1200 cals, even though I only burned off 790 cals. Eventually it catches up with you.
Then, at the end of the week you are standing on the scale and nothing has changed and I say.. "What the hell is the use of all this work? I walked 21 hours this week and I'm no better off!!.. Next thing I know. I'm off the diet and not doing ANYTHING. I mean, I'd have been better off to not do ANY cardio and stay home and adhere 100% to the numbers.
Sadly, I understand the math of energy and calories. I KNOW this stuff. But still catch myself trying to find loop holes.
It's something I'm changing this time around. For me, It's better to walk 25 minutes 4 times a week and be stern and solid about it and concentrate on 100% adherence to the numbers instead of thinking a big crazy manic walk is gonna fix lazy journaling.0 -

Try not excersizing!
Yes it sounds a tiny bit crazy. For the first month of your "diet" try to focus only on calorie goal and after a 30 day stretch add excersize. It seemed to work better for me. Now my body has adjusted to the caloric deficit and I dont feel the need to replace the cal.s I burn0
