What sucks about My Fitness Pal!

When your writing a post on being healthy and clean eating, and then you look and see a side ad for pizza.
Im just like:

    A. What's clean eating.
    B. is this limited to MFP?

No, just how I find it ironic that junk food ads are often on MFP.
And second, clean eating is eating all good nutritous foods

You know the ads are linked to your browsing history right? If you been on pizza company websites you will get their ads. Presumably if you look up a lot of porn you'll get their ads as well but I wouldn't know

You had not noticed those ads in other places?
And, clean-eating is just an open-ended term.
Many people think their diet is good/clean. And have very different diets one from another.
  • The labeling of food as clean/dirty sucks. That is all.

I think clean eating is eating food as close to its natural state as possible. I've tried the Clean program by Dr. Alejandro Junger. It felt pretty nice, but definitely not a way I could eat for ever, not with my lifestyle.

Your browsing history dictates the adverts, not MFP. Evidently you look at pizza.

I was really confused, wondering what ads the OP was talking about. Then I realized I have an adblocker so I don't see any ads. Now I know why there's a big white space to the right of my screen.

That isn't completely true. A large portion of the time, the ads relate to topic being discussed. Other times they are for completely random things.

Can't "multi-select" on computer, but you can on your phone. :grumble:
Can't read the Community Forums on your phone, but you can on your computer. :grumble:
No history (other than the graph) of how much weight you lost within certain dates. :grumble:
When making comments, the curser doesn't automatically go in the box. (Just being my lazy self..I want the curser in the box as soon as I click "Comment"..) :grumble:

I was getting Planned Parenthood ads for a while because I had the word "harlot" in my quote on my profile. MFP has my back.

    ETA: Adblock is awesome.

I get a lot of ads for the Spartan races (probably cause I've been looking into doing one). The ads are a good reminder.

Of course now that I'm typing this there's an ad for kitkats

I get all kind of ads that have NOTHING to do with my search history. For instance, right now I have 1 ad about shopping for cars, and one that I think is about travel. I haven't done any searches on either of those things for many months. I get ads about schools and student loans, which I haven't searched for EVER, and ads for McDonald's and various fast foods, which I have also never searched. So...yeah, not so much.

If I remember right you can go to weigh in and then click on "edit previous entries" and it will show a list of your past weigh-ins.

Apparently, my work blocks ads. I don't see any. The only think I would like to see different is with logging your running. There is no choice for 10.5 or 11 minute mile. For some reason, you can choose a 10 minute mile and an 11.5 minute mile. I'm consistently a 10.5 or 11 minute miler, both of which I can't choose. Why MFP? WHY??????

1 If you mean food items then you can click the boxes down the side of items and choose add checked.
2 Depends on your phone, I can on my Galaxy s4, I use the Opera app.
3 Go to weigh in and edit previous entries, every weigh in is there
    4 Don't be lazy

I tend to use my phone for most of my interaction with MFP but I can't access the forums or profiles from my iphone.

Also, if someone has customised their diary, I only get the first 4 groups of food entries under 'Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, no matter how they've listed them. So if they have food entries under further groups, I can't see them in their diary.

I also get annoyed at the constant syncing issues between fitbit and MFP.

But other than that I love it! I'm now on my 668th consecutive day :-)
  • I strongly suggest downloading an adblocker :) . If you're using Firefox, just get Adblock Plus. Works for me. I see people complaining about ads on Facebook, or OKCupid, or MFP or whatever, and it always surprises me because I literally never see those ads. I'm sure there are similar options for Chrome and IE, I'm just not sure what they are.

    Check it out! :D

McGruber - you can add your own exercises! I have a whole list of running speeds added to my exercises. Go to the Exercise tab, select 'My Exercises' and then click 'Create Exercise'. Enter the data of your run from your HRM or whatever you use to log, and voila.
