this may sound stupid, but when you complete your food diary, i wish they would factor in all your chosen nutrients..mainly sodium for me along with cals for your "in 5 weeks" #..
um, you dont need to be rude to me about it..0 -
I like the taste of pizza. I am not addicted to it.
Then, again, you don't understand addiction and why lack of eating control makes eating such calorie-dense foods dangerous.
One slice of Papa John's Large The Works pizza contains 330 calories. I don't think I've ever eaten a single slice of pizza out of a pizza pie in my life. I'll eat at least two, and usually 3-4. And that's just for dinner. That means that I was consuming 660-1320 calories in a sitting. And this was the way I ate typically for any food that tasted good like pizza.
So sure - there's absolutely nothing wrong with pizza - as long as you can control yourself and only eat one slice of it for a typical meal, and live with not being satisfied by it.0 -

LMAO
I understand addiction.0 -
My ads are all furniture and shoes! Pretty sure they are linked to your browsing history. Hmmm, right now I see ads for toner cartridges.0

This is so not true. I never look up weight watchers Brownies or Dominoes on my computer or the current ad for "Group Power- Auto Insurance from Met Life" and yet these ads are plastered all over my screen. I don't get HeartBurn and look up TUMS antacids but they are featured to my right. It's just companies buying advertisement space where they know the people who use their products will see them. People concerned about their fitness / weight are likely to be eating Pizza, Brownies, Cookies, want to buy into the "Exercise free weight loss programs" Dr. Oz approved weight loss pill, etc. That's all.
It's a mixture. I have different ads at home than I do at work. I have been looking into cell phone plans at home, and I get all kinds of ads for sprint, Verizon, Virgin Mobile, US Cellular. I don't look at much at work other than MFP, and medical articles, and there I get dog food ads, Ads for Insanity workouts, and other things that make me question the ad generator.
Bottom line is that MFP has nothing to do with the ads you see. It's a 3rd party service.0 -

Can't "multi-select" on computer, but you can on your phone. :grumble:
Can't read the Community Forums on your phone, but you can on your computer. :grumble:
No history (other than the graph) of how much weight you lost within certain dates. :grumble:
When making comments, the curser doesn't automatically go in the box. (Just being my lazy self..I want the curser in the box as soon as I click "Comment"..) :grumble:
^^^^^All of these!0 -

Can't bookmark topic or by some other means find a topic again. My topics doesn't do a good job of that I want to know when someone else has added somethng to the conversation.0 -

Your browsing history dictates the adverts...
That isn't completely true. A large portion of the time, the ads relate to topic being discussed. Other times they are for completely random things.
Actually no. I use MFP at work and I use the internet for work. I get ads for the stuff i use at work, specifically. It is NOT random, its based on your cookies.0 -
I find it ironic that people don't realize that MFP can't control the ads. I find it ironic that people think they can never have pizza again for the rest of their lives. I find it ironic that people think ads are sabotage. Just stating random facts (or not facts because they are my opinion) without really considering if I am using the word ironic properly in a sentence. Carry on.
Inigo Montoya.
I blame Alanis Morrisette.0 -
I can see how you might find junk food ads annoying.. but this is a pretty rad app and website and its 100% free so no complaints from me on how they make their money, as long as I don't have to give it to them!0

Your browsing history dictates the adverts, not MFP. Evidently you look at pizza.
Once a person on here was complaining about all the porn ads they were getting and everyone pointed out that fact. OP deactivated. Lolz.0 -
What I hate most are the macro defaults. Totally stupid in my opinion. The "low fat, carbs through the roof" thing needs to STOP. There is a small minority of people who can do well on that kind of eating plan: anyone with metabolic issues (such as storing too much fat) cannot.
Re: the ads. I don't care. Since changing WHAT I eat I am never bothered by images of crap that I don't want to eat. Those ads keep MFP FREE. So, would you rather pay to be here or live with the ads? Me, I'm happy to just ignore them.0 -
There's no "like" button, which means my lazy *kitten* has to type compliments:laugh:

I'm glad there is no "like" button. Because then the sheeple might be tempted to read and think about a comment for themselves instead of forming their opinion based on the number of "likes".0 -
a simple ADD PHOTO button to any thread or post.0

Indeed. Browsing history is only a portion of the equation.0
