The hot and muggy month of August approaches and its time for a new month of stepping!
Challenge is to do 10,000 steps in a day. You can do this for any one day or try for the entire month. Jump right in at any time! You can set a lower or higher goal if you wish. Our main goal is to keep activate every day!
It's easy to join - Just post here to begin!
You will need a step counter to keep track of your steps and then post your results daily here.

Love to be part of your challenge. Use fitbit and try to get 7500 steps daily. Month of July my highest was on 7/2 - 10,232. Is there a group or do we post in this thread ?0

Hope everyone's counter is clipped on and ready to go!

Great challenge, I'm in.
Highest is 27,455 on 9th May (think I was on holiday walking around pretty much the whole day and went to the gym as well).
I aim for 10,000+ every day, which is generally quite hard as I'm sitting at a desk most of the day! Only done 2800 today so far.0 -
Count me in!!!! I really enjoyed doing this last month and passed my first goal of 200,000 steps and then even passed my next goal of 250.000 steps!! Hope to hit 300,000 this month0

I'm up for the challenge, new to MFP and Fitbit. It always helps motivate me to be part of a group doing something. Do we just post our totals here each day?0
-
I'm in again! For the last few months my goal was 430 000 steps and I finally hit it in July so I'm upping it for August. This months goal is 500 000.0

Umer76,
My fav step counter is the New Balance Vis Slim ($25-$30). It is very thin so I can put it my pocket or clip it on with out a big bulge. My back up counter is a $5 Sportline one from Walmart. It is bulky and clunky but counts steps ok.
There are several people here use Fitbit and love it.
I will say if do this long enough, you will loose, break, wear out or drown some step counters. I know I have done all of these.0 -
Aug 1st - 19,211. Got a nice 5 mile walk in with my sister after work, helped get those steps up
Umer76 - I use the FitBit One and love it! It seems very accurate. My husband uses the FitBit Flex and loves it also. I would highly recommend either of those0 -
I'm in! Hit 8500 yesterday (my daily goal). Will aim for 10K going forward.0
