"No Garbage Lasagna"

Yet you are responding to all of it...
I'm keeping an eye on the thread because a) I started it, b) people may have questions about the recipe, c) I've got about a half hour until work ends and then I'm checking out/heading home and d) like you, I check the forums to pass the time on occasion. *shrug*
I'm not sure I've done anything wrong and responding to posts in a thread I started seems like good forum etiquette to me.
I didn't say you did anything wrong by responding, did I?
Perhaps I'm misreading your tone, but the "Yet you are responding to all of it..." made it seem like I should quit responding. I'm just saying: I _believe_ these things are "garbage" (i.e. there are better replacements that are more nutrient dense), for which I will not apologize. I _do_ apologize for offending anyone with my opinion, and respect the fact that others believe/think differently than I do. The title of my recipe was not meant to be malicious or controversial. Overall I intended it to be more playful, but that, apparently, was lost in translation.0 -
I don't understand how people who get hurt or angered by someone calling cheese "garbage" can function in day to day life.
What happens when someone else eats the last yogurt in your fridge? When the mailman puts one of your weekly mailers in your neighbor's mailbox? When your favorite tv show gets cancelled?
Do you cry for days? Yell and scream and throw things? Punch people in the throat?
Oh, wait. Probably not. Because it's a message board and people use it as an excuse to get indignant and overdramatic about EVERYthing. Le sigh.
I'm currently on my third mailman...due to "accidents" and such. Maybe this one will get it right.
I'm still butthurt about Firefly and hope whoever made that decision is forced to watch Jersey Shore reruns for life.
Oh, wait...you seem to be getting indignant and over dramatic about this post...hmm...just like EVERYONE else.
And for the record, I'm always indignant and over dramatic, in real life and online, I'm just awesome like that.0 -

I think it's more that using the term "garage" comes off as smug and for whatever reason, people don't take kindly to that. I would guess that's why so many people were arguing over the term "lasagna" - which I kind of saw as a way for people to make the OP feel stupid, because she (apparently inadvertently) made people feel bad for calling certain foods trash.0 -

I am not saying you shouldn't respond, but calling people out and saying they must not know what's important in life if words on the internet bothers them THIS MUCH, when you are spending as much time doing the same dance just seems, I dunno - questionable. It's great that you apologized for offending people, my point was just that you said you didn't want to contribute to that kind of BS, but then pretty much went on to do so -- it just rang a little insincere. Why apologize at all if you stated what you felt and people just didn't like it?0 -
Lol you really upset some people here didn't you lmao. You baaaaaad person.
I think it sounds LOVELY and I'm not a vegan but I love eating and creating vegan foods because it inspires me to think differently about how I cook. Plus it's super healthy too.
I'll make some and let you know0 -
:noway:
How the hell can you call that a lasagna without noodles and cheese??
THAT'S WHAT I SAID
Again, this has been _thoroughly_ discussed already.
Don't sweat it. Most people read the title, the OP, and skip the rest of the thread before replying.
You'll see the "it's not lasagna" complaint at least once a page.
I KNEW it!
::hangs head:: I've been doing it wrong all along.0 -
For all the people still paying attention for the actual recipe and not the quibbling....
I once made a similar dish with sliced zucchini and it was really great0 -
I THINK CHEESE IS GARBAGE TOO. I AM LACTOSE INTOLERANT AND IT MAKES ME POO FUNNY OK!?!?!0

Okay... so your problem is that you don't like the way that she apologized?
Well guess what... you can't make her be as "sincere" as you apparently want her to be, namely, because sincerity can't be quantified. But for real, if you don't like the recipe and don't care for the quality of her apology, then move on.
At this point, it is completely unclear what exactly you are trying to accomplish here. Other than trolling the OP because you don't think she sincerely regrets calling food that others like to eat "garbage". Like I said earlier, she is entitled to her own opinion.0 -

I've been attacked repeatedly in this thread. My values, my beliefs and my ideals. I am not going to get offended or throw it in other people's faces. I cannot change the name of this recipe because I cannot edit the first post. AT THE SAME TIME-- there is a big internet out there. If you, or anyone else that's commented in this thread, doesn't agree with me then there are plenty of other places to contribute.
I am sorry that people got offended, but I cannot help how you guys react.
I'm not going to flip a lid and throw it back in ya'lls faces, but sometimes it's challenging to apologize, correct myself, agree with being corrected over and over and still smile when it keeps coming, you know?
I'm not here to respond to people that don't like this recipe. I'm not here to defend how I eat or what I like. I keep an eye on the thread to a) respond to positive activity, b) share with like minded people, etc. But more of what I got was people losing their minds over this "not being a real lasagna", being reminded that Italians are crying, and other such nonsense. So I responded accordingly.
I'm not stupid.
I don't feel stupid.
I'm not smug.
My playfulness did not translate via text.
It is what it is, but it is just the internet. No matter who responds to the thread, in the long run, it's no big deal.0 -
Just shhh and eat it. Calm down baby and have a piece of cheese.0

Sorry... I have no more time to deal with you in this day, but rest assured, you will be on ignore from this point forward.

I'm one sad panda.
And to the OP, I am sorry if I read your responses wrong. Wasn't trying to be a jerk to you specifically -- just the attitude that some food is "junk" and my reasons for that are mostly from dealing with a lot of poorer people with limited access to higher quality foods.0 -

Well I just had a gander at what you post on here, and it's pretty much insult after insult.0 -

Lol no, I tried to quote someone with this response and failed miserably, if you are interested it's a quote off a cartoon called 'Burnt Face Man'.0 -

Actually, I apologized to the OP a few posts back and give her a bit of an explanation as to why this topic set me off personally, so it seems you might be the keeping things going.0 -

It's in quotes! As in "lasagna". See what I did there?
I want to hug you...this made me laugh lol0 -

Lol wut? I don't post a whole lot and don't insult people very frequently --- disagree maybe.0 -

Oh no you don't, girlfriend. You keep all that finger pointing mess to yourself. You apologized AFTER you responded to me, to which someone else responded, to which I just got around to responding. I'm behind.0 -
