Sun Gazing is an ancient method of healing that originated in India about 2600 years ago with the teaching of Lord Mahavir of Jain. Sungazing activates the Pineal gland also known as the Third eye or Ajna chakra. The activation of pineal gland is the key step in psychic, spiritual & energy transformation processes. It consists of daily written record of pulse, blood pressure, respiration, Temperature, water intake, urine output, weight etc. Relevant Hematological and biochemical (basic and few advanced) tests are done periodically i.e. monthly or fortnightly. ECGs are taken regularly. Ultra Sonography, EEG, CT. Scan and M.R.I. Brain have been taken at the end of one year and a team consisting of general practitioners physicians, surgeons, Cardiologists, endocrinologist and a neurologist have been examining him regularly and periodically from first day of fasting. Except for loss of 19 Kg weight, (Which is now stable with no further weight loss for last 3 months), there is no medical abnormality. Even the brain and mental capacities are absolutely normal. There are hardly any findings. He has stopped passing stool after 16th day of fasting and urine output is maintained at around 600 to 800 c.c. His bloodsugar is between 60 to 90. Rest of the parameters are all normal.
As per our present day scientific understanding, under normal circumstances of prolongedstarvation, (under accidental situation or extraordinarysituation) human being looses weight fast. First carbohydrate is utilized. Then ketones appear in urine in first week. Then proteins are burnt. Later fat are mobilized from body stores and used. Before that, the person becomes dull, lethargic and irritable, his logic and reasoning fails and vital parameters fall and within 8 to 10 weeks, as per science, the physical existence will be challenged. Here, there has been no such illeffect. How do we explain this ? How does his energy mathematics work? How he is still so intact with normal intellect, normal mental function?
During your first 3 months of practice, the suns energy is moving through the eyes and charging the hypothalamus tract, says those who have studied this technique and used it. For example, in liver disease, the color green is deficient. The kidneys need red, and the heart, yellow. All of the organs and all of the systems are said to respond to different colors of the rainbow, which is why it is also recommended to eat a diet rich in a variety of colors. It is recommended during the 3-4 month period that you use autosuggestion to see your body already healed of any perceived weakness or disease. First off, humans are made to eat plant based diet, walk barefoot and live under the sun mostly feeding from solar energy. If fasting for 130 days under the medical surveillance by scientists of Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine to somebody sounds like "a bunch of hooey" (as some of you said) then I believe you think that what these scientists discovered, these people with PhD is completely irrelevant. It is also irrelevant that Hira Ratan Manek originally lost some weight and then came to a point of maintenance of a normal weight, it is also irrelevant that the dimensions of his Pineal gland (Third eye) are 8 x 11 mm and the one of an ordinary average human are 6 x 8 mm. I will not speak for the rest of the health benefits because it will be a long post, for those that are interested, do your own research.
Second thing I want to say here is that NOBODY ever said "Stare at the sun while barefoot and drink only water." For somebody who wants to practice Sungazing, all you do is Sungazing according to the abovementioned principles. You do NOT change your diet! Reduction of caloric needs from food comes as a SIDE-EFFECT of Sungazing. Food is fuel for energy and when your body absorbs the energy from the sun, you naturally feel better, full of energy and less hungry every day.
As far as fasting goes, have some of you ever wondered why every religion in the world has a time of fasting and cleansing the body? It allows the body to detox, heal and regenerate and connect to the source. And no, people don't die from doing a fast or detox, but on the contrary, people die from diabetes, heart disease, strokes, cancers and so on, the list is long and all too familar. All these diseases form only in an acidic body. Those toxins in your body, that come from all sources (thoughts, feelings, emotions, environment) but mainly from foods that are highly acidic and addictive. They prevent the natural flow of energy. Alkaline foods like raw fruits and vegetables will help you detox and that combined with the basic principles of Sungazing will make you less dependent on food as a fuel for energy.0 -

Humans are designed to consume an omnivorous diet and animal fats are credited hugely with the development of the human brain.

The idea that we are only meant to eat plants is vegetarian broscience. We are perfectly adapted to eat meat proteins.0

1) Your liver & kidneys detox you constantly
2) Fruit is not 'alkaline' in fact many fruits are slightly acidic such as citrus fruits that contain citric acid
3) Unless you suffer from some specific medical conditions (eg Gout) then your body is actually very slightly alkaline but almost neutral (pH 7.35-7.45). Again, this is something the body regulates without requiring detox.
4) Natural flow of energy? What, like blood flow that carries oxygen to where it is needed and used to help convert sugars to energy ie if tha's blocked and not happening you're having a heart attack/ a stroke/ a thrombosis and you need to phone the emergency services.0 -

If we are talking about citrus fruits as acidic, we should mention the highly alkalizing effects that they have in the body unlike other animal products.
