I work out 6-7 days a week, and if I'm not at the gym, I try to get some sort of physical activity in, like a hike or a long walk. I do it because I like the rush I get after a workout, but I also feel pretty guilty if I don't... and if I don't, I only have 1290 calories to eat, and that is just not enough for me. I have a really hard time staying at 1290 calories without being really, really hungry, so I work out to eat more. I love food too much!

I'm going to make you feel better...I work out 3-4 days a week for 30-40 minutes. Don't feel bad about taking a day or two off!

I don't necessarily "work out" every day, but I have to do something active. I'm at the gym M, W, F & I usually run M, T, R, F & Sat. On Sundays I like to go for a hike, or to the climbing wall, or take the dog for a long walk, or do cartwheels in the front yard .....if I don't do something to move I start bouncing off the walls.

My MFP goal is 1 hr of exercise 5 days a week. I try for more and tend to workout 6 days a week with 2-3 of those days being more than an hour, sometimes up to 2 hours. All cardio except for the occasional "walk at a fast pace through my house for an hour because I can't walk outside" day and basic dumbell weight lifting. That being said, I listen to my body and when I've pushed my back too far, I take a day off, two if needed. It's better than having my sciatica flair up and being on the couch in screaming pain unable to move for a week.

Usually 4-5 strength training during weekdays i never go gym on weekends as im fairly active.

Usually an hour tops each time i go to gym.

    ^^ This

I use to do 4-5 hours of cardio a week...then I got busy with work, and now I do strength training 4-5 times a week and about an hour of cardio a week....and I'm losing inches off my waist and hips :)

LIFT WEIGHTS! Don't just do cardio!!!

I workout 25 minutes/day and aim for at 6 days per week. But life sometimes gets in the way. I don't sweat it anymore. If I have a little extra energy, sometimes I'll double-up and do two workouts in a day to make up for one I missed, but as long as I see the downward trend on the scale, I don't obsess over it.

No way Jose. I am being completely honest with myself. It won't be a permanent part of my lifestyle to spend 7+ hours a week working out. The more realistic answer is more like 4 hours a week. I aim for 4-5 days a week for 45 minutes. I can commit to that!
  • I don't believe in training 7 days a week. Your muscles do need time to rest and repair just like anything else. If it's working for other ppl I won't knock it, but at some point your body will break down, not to mention training everyday makes it virtually impossible to consitently up the intensity of your sessions

Same here. Weight lifting is making a huge difference but I did some Hiit training yesterday and am really feeling it today! Losing inches but scales very stubborn... Good luck!

Nah, I need my rest days. I get sore, gotta take it easy.

4-5 days of working out i enough for me, more than that and I can't recover and need like 4 days of rest.

Same here I do 3 on 1 off so that works out to 4/5 times a week. These generally work out as 2 x 30 minute cardio sessions and 1 x strength session. On my off days I do still walk my dog, I do log my walking but I don't see this a exercise but rather relaxing :-)

Yesterday I planned to go for a run when I got home, but I just felt shattered so I did the 30DS instead, thinking if it was too much I could just stop and not be miles from home. I managed the whole thing (L3) and felt so much better for it. But listen to your body, if it wants to rest, then rest but don't get lazy!

I try and workout 4-6 times a week. Each week I aim to do 4 gym classes and a couple of runs (or 30DS) plus weights

If you want to take a rest day, i suggest doing some yoga so you don't feel guilty. You get a little cardio and some strength training without feeling worn out. I would suggest eating a little higher calorie meals though when you do eat, that way you wont have to eat when you're not hungry and you aren't starving yourself. :) When your body goes into starvation mode, it builds up fat cells,

Yes. I either hit the GYM and use the incline trainer at 30% incline or walk 3-6 miles around our area. It takes a lot to get killer "Rockett" legs...but walking does the trick!

    6 days. Run- Sun & Mon, Wed-Fri.
Body weight strength - Fri - Sun
    Saturday is also hike day.
    Tues - off

Right now I'm at 5.5 hours a week, will change to more like 7.5 by September as my runs continue to increase. Hope to average 35-40 miles a week by then.

I'd say miss it, if your not over your calorie goal then no harm can come from missing one workout. have a rest. take it easy.

My goal work outs are 30 min brisk walk every lunchtime (mon-fri) and 4x 45min body pump classes per week, one hour of kettle bells, spinning once 45min, body combat x2/3 for 45min, and maybe a hit circuits if im feeling energetic once or twice.

I generally try to hit the gym every day mon-sat for either one or two classes. - i often miss Saturdays if im tired

I workout 5 days, have 1 rest day just before my Saturday morning timed 5k parkrun. If my HRV is in the red then I
    have an additional rest day.

I always plan to workout everyday but usually end up missing one day a week. If you want to workout, then workout, doesnt mean you have to eat more.

My current MFP goal is 45 mins cardio 5 days per week. This is week two and so far I've succeeded. As I'm just starting out on a regular exercise plan, I am focusing on getting my workout in, period. I am planning on working in some weight lifting (Les Mill Pump) in September. Maybe swapping two cardio days for two lift days. Stay focused and enjoy! :)

I walk everyday...at least 30 minutes...and I'm doing Ripped in 30 5-6 days. This week will probably be 5...but if I don't at least get some walking in daily, I'm not happy.
