I really enjoyed the Gunslinger series, except for Book 4 (Wizard and Glass). I have read so many of his books, it's hard to choose a favorite.

The Stand (made for TV) is probably my favorite of his films, with the exception of some bad acting in it. "It" scared the bejeebers out of me, both book and TV movie.

Worst film? The Dark Half and the one with Johnny Depp (can't remember the title, but it was based on a short story).

    Worst book? Thinner.

    were both just great.

    I HATED the Langoliers.
  • Eyes of the Dragon was my favorite Stephen King book....in fact, I named my daughter after one of the characters: Queen Sasha

I couldn't get through the book 'The Stand'....

i liked The Stand as a book. the mini series was ok. didn't quite match what i had in my head. the beginning scene with the Blue Oyster Cult music was cool though.

I will always love this book! He had written it for his daughter and my mom gave me her copy of the book when I was little. I would read it over and over.

I have a love/hate relationship with "The Mist". I just can't freaking believe the way it ends. It's just too messed up. I haven't seen it for a few years, and I'm still pissed about the ending every time I think about it! :grumble: :explode:

He is my favorite, so I really like all of his books, and I LOVE the Dark Tower series. I'm really enjoying "Under the Dome" as a TV show, I love that they are changing things up and I can't predict everything.

I HATED the second version of the Shining (made for TV) even more than I disliked the Jack Nicholson version. And I really didn't like "Rose Red" either.

Most of the time, I am petty unhappy about anything of his that gets made into TV or movies, but there are some great ones out there. I loved the original Carrie movie. Shawshank Redemption is another example of a good one. Green Mile, too.

I'll stop now I could go ON about SK....

    Long days and pleasant nights....

Part 1 of "It" was really creepy. Tim Curry as the clown was brilliant casting.

Christine was the first I read so I always have a bit of a soft spot for that one. Cell was probably my least favorite.

Huge SK fan! IT was my favorite book, but I thought the movie was really bad comparatively. The movies that remain most true to the book like Pet Cemetary, Carrie, 1408, Cujo, Apt Pupil, etc are really great. The new Under the Dome miniseries is good, too. Worst book for me was Insomnia. It was so boring I never finished it which is unheard of for me.

My favorite book is It, followed closely by The Stand and The Shining.

I think the movie adaptations have generally been awful, but I liked The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

Best TV movie was IT. Still scares me.
    I also liked the Shining.
Worst movie was Thinner. I wish they would remake that now with better actors and CGI.
I didn't like The Stand, I couldn't get into it and I thought the acting was awful.
    best film was Dolores Claireborne.

    Books: Duma Key hands down

    Movie: The Green Mile
  • I think my most favorite would have to be 11/22/63 but right now I am a HUGE fan of his son Joe Hill. He has the same vivid imagination as his dad (even writes very similar) but in my opinion .. fresher ideas. Just loved NOS4A2 which I recently finished and on to HEART SHAPED BOX.

I am a HUGE stephen king and I think out of all the movies and books that i have read and seen i would have to say that Rose Red is my favorite but i also like delores claiborne because that guy totally got what was coming to him. I also have to agree that i did not like the ending of "The Mist" and I hated the ending of "IT" although the book was better than the movie. Shawshank Redemption is also a wonderful movie---i loved the ending of that. The green mile was one of his better but Rose Red has to be my favorite, its creepy and keeps you on edge of your seat.

Loved and Hated Gerald's Game. It is hard to pick a favorite because it changes every time he writes a new one.
