August Walking Challenge 2013

This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but its nice when each month has its own thread.

*** Anyone can join in at any time. The more the merrier, lets keep each other motivated****

Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in. :)

Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise everyday, and keep an eye on each other.


I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. treadmills and ellipticals are A-OK.

Hope to see some more faces in this challenge, we'll start tracking August 1st.

    I walk more than I run.. So I'll jump in as well. :) I don't do it everyday, but typically 3-4 times a week.

    Count me in. I use an UP wristband which measures how many miles I walk so will just transfer the info on to here. x

    I'll even post my "personal goal" on here so I'm more motivated to keep at it! :wink: I want to walk an absolute minimum of 15 minutes everyday this month.

    I'm in, I walk now 5 sometimes 7 days a week, with the challenge it will push me to walk each night after dinner!

    I will be going sailing next week with my hubby, so I will keep track of my walking when
    I am gone and fill in when I get back. Keep on walking everybody !! Keep on moving !!

    5 miles today, just over 12000 steps.

    Count me in I got in 3 10 minutes today of walking. Walking is the only exercise I am currently doing and I have slowly worked up to 10 minutes from 4 min laps.

    Count me in- I walk the dog 20-25 minutes every day but need to do more. This will help motivate me
