Ahh, I rarely see people at sub-10% bf, so maybe that is skewing my opinion.

Dieting really shrinks legs. It's depressing. Super hard to keep that full pumped quad look when they are sliced and super lean. I'm not sure why, but leg proportion to the upper body is the biggest difference between natural and open bodybuilding competitions.

    this.

Looking big at 15% bodyfat and looking big at 8% bodyfat are 2 completely different things.

Plus he's pretty tall so harder to fill out his frame. Put his amount of mass on someone who is 5 8" (most bber's are around 5 10") and they would look pretty big.

Another thing to keep in mind is that he was just really skinny for his role in Les Mis about a year ago (or was it longer? I don't know any more), so that might have something to do with both his thin legs, and the crazy amount of calories to bulk.

Don't people always look bigger at 8% bf then at 15 % bf ? Or is that applicable to only those who dont have much LBM in the first place so when they get down to 8 % bf, they automatically look bigger by comparison ?

I don't think he looks out of proportion. I know a lot of guys who just really struggle to build muscle mass on their legs.

So for anybody who really cares, YES he does have chicken legs right now. YES he has been neglecting his legs. His previous role had him as some scrawny guy (druggie, or cancer or something, I can't remember), so he needed to bulk his upper body for the role. The camera doesn't usually show below the waist (unless it's porn, which I'm fairly sure he's not in...yet) so he didn't need to work his legs.

Yes, he was consuming about 5,000-6,000 calories a day to bulk up 25 pounds of muscle for his role in Wolverine. He had help from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with some advice and had a personal trainer guy helping him out.

While it's not public, there's a good chance he was taking some enhancement supplements of some sort as well. But that's complete speculation.

    400+ deads are freakin' sweet.

Jesus. You're 170-ish? I'm 170-ish and, well, would think that I'd need to be 250 pounds to have all that muscle.

    177lbs +10lbs above stage. 5'8" so height maybe a factor here. At 200lbs I look more normal'ish 9693119_733.jpg

I'm 5'9 and have a spare tire. Interesting the difference between muscle and fat....

Come jog in my neighborhood anytime ;)

[Note: I'm so not buying into "muscle weighs more than fat" for unexplained weight gain anymore. It's "water weight" pure and simple.]

Well if he had help from The Rock, he sure as hell had some extra help too

The Rock has blown up in the last few years. He must visit the same clinic as Stallone. Or maybe A-Rod ;)

And Zip...those are your hammies ?! What weight is that at?! 177 stage weight?

I don't doubt for one minute that he was consuming 6k calories a day! He needed to bulk up for wolverine, he worked long hours everyday and did most of his own stunts, then ontop of that he worked out! I'd speculate he easily burned 4-5k a day! He also is sitting at 6-7% body fat!

    Pretty solid deadlift for anyone

    P.S. Sara is HOT!!! :)

I'm sure he had to focus extensively on legs for this roll since he had criticism the first time around. He is putting in work no doubt on those legs.
