Your legs are not going to bulk up when you're eating 1200-1500 calories and doing cross country running.

Only if you carry an 80's Walkman in each hand. Wait, that bulks up your arms. You should be good then.

    hehehe

I run 5 miles a day plus swim. My legs are definitely toned and muscular. I am able to zip up tall boots ,so they are not so bulky they look overly bulky like a body builders.

Nope, if anything your legs will lean out. The only way they will bulk up is if you start doing some leg weights, like squats, lunges, leg press, leg extension, etc.

I think it's possible for your legs to thicken a bit. I joined the fitness challenge at work and just got measured the other day (at day 45). All I've been doing is running for fitness. The weight went down along with 2 inches off my waist, but the thigh measurement went up 1inch. So maybe...

Lets say, hypothetically, the answer was yes. Would you honestly stop doing something you seem to enjoy and is great for your health because your legs might appear more muscular?

    If yes well then...yeah

If no then who the hell cares.

OP - keep doing what you're doing. You'll be fine.

Don't be afraid to eat more though if you're that active.
