I am envious! My husband supports me to a point. He doesn't have much weight to lose but he could definitely lose some body fat (the beer belly that he got without ever drinking) and show some muscle definition again! Hubby would rather play video games or watch football than workout with me :(

hmm- thinking that I should somehow twist this into some sort of motivation for my hubby.
your hubby: I envy him. If it works, feel free to share your motivation techniques with my wife!

My husband is working to lose about 10 lbs or so and walks with me all the time. I have about another 40 lbs to lose after losing a little over 63 lbs. It is great doing this together, plus he's a chef so healthier meals haven't been too much of a problem (or portion sizes).

This is getting all crazy now. Lol. My husband is going to try and convince me this was my idea.

    Healthy by default. Love it.

My husband usually does the cooking when we get to eat together so he actually prepares mine differently (no oils, sauces etc) because he gets allotted almost 2000 more calories a day than I do.

Me and the hubby did a diet together in 2002 and were successful, then we fell back into the old routine :( Fast forward to December 2012 when I jumped back on the wagon and picked him up along the way. It's so awesome to do this together and support each other. No need to explain the strange grocery lists and obsession with logging everything that I eat and I am happy I had someone to cheer me on when I started Couch to 5K and who is now my partner in crime when I am lifting at the gym and running races (with him of course)!

Here is a before and after, I hope the picture will show up ok:

At least he's on the path now. Judging by your ticker (awesome by the way!) He is missing a whole wife... ;)

Yes. She is down 27, and I'm at ~11, but Monday's reading will tell for sure.

It's awesome when the spouse/s.o. joins in! We've lost a total of 177 lbs together but it took awhile for him to start on weight loss and better eating (he kind of fought me at first, lol)!

This gives me hope. Mine is on off trying. Really want to get him fully on board.

I love it!! Congratulations to both of you!! :drinker:
  • I like thinking about it this way too, sometimes. I've lost 22 pounds so far--which is a little less than my almost two-year-old. Every time I pick her up, I think, "Wow," I used to carry all that weight around on my body all the time."

I hear ya! I have two year old twins. Both about 33 pounds. I can pick them both up and carry them together for only a couple minutes.
