What the heck is a burpee?

I'm new to this whole fitness thing.... What are some good exercises that i can do to tone thighs and midsection besides the traditional situps and squats? oh and all the running... I'm looking to add some variation.

Ahh to me thats what's known as a 'squat thrust'0

mountian climbers are good too, you can also look into yoga or pilates type stuff it is better to take classes for these though if you can so someone can point out if you do poses wrong so you dont hurt yourself0

I actually enjoy burpees and have even developped my own twist on them (that I call the Krashers - Krash is one of my nicknames lol). It's basically burpees with dumbbells. You do knee strikes once down (or mountain climbers), then renegade rows + push-ups (1 on each side) and instead of a jump, you snatch the dumbbells when you stand back up.
Have fun trying it out (Just, you know, master the more basic versions first. Don't hurt yourself)0 -

I haven't done squat thrusts since I was in school, but I'm pretty sure we didn't stand at the end of each rep. It was just push up position, knees to elbows, and then back to push up position.0
