Usually a minimum of 2,000 to over 3,000 a day!!!!! I go on bike rides where I burn 1,000-3,000 calories a few times a week! :-) My BMR is about 1650.0

I am 5'9 and MFP has me eating 1760 cals a day and I have my profile set to lose 2 pounds per week. There are days I go over by a couple hundred and some days I come in under by a couple hundred. MFP set my calories based off my current weight.0

I'm 5ft 11 and eat anywhere between 1500-1900 inactive to active. I started 1/4/13 and have lost 37 lbs to date.0

I'm 5'10 and eat about 1200 on non-workout days. When I do hit the gym I eat around 1500-2000.0

5'10", SW 187, CW 168, GW 153. I have MFP set to 1 pound a week right now and it has me at 1650 calories per day. I'm not so patiently waiting for the weather to warm up so I can start running again. When i do, I'll probably go at about 18-1900 per day. I don't eat back exercise calories.
For the record, I don't buy into the TDEE thing. Tried it for a few weeks, gained weight like crazy. Might work for some, really didn't work for me!!0 -
I'm 5'9" and don't exercise, MFP has me set at 1310 calories per day, which for the most part I stay within. On the weekends, it's probably more like 1,500/day. I've lost 14 pounds since January 7th, so I'm averaging about 1.2 pounds lost per week. My starting weight was 169, current weight is 155, goal is 144.0

This thread is crazy. Est more.
I am 5'9" and eat about 1800 per day. Have been losing 1.5 lbs per week. I work out 5-6 times a week, but always have. I am a fit fat girl en route to just being fit (and less fat).0 -

My dietician has me on 1300cals0

I am 5'9" and I usually eat anywhere from 1500(non-workout days) to 1900(on workout days). On workout days I usually burn around 400 cals. Subtracting the 400 from my 1900 means I net around 1500 on workout days.
This is usually when I'm on track for eating and working out. Unfortunately, I haven't been on track lately, but I'm trying to get back in the groove of things. I swear this is the hardest part of it bc once I'm actually in the habit of working out and eating right its so much easier.0 -
I'm 5'8.75" and 160lbs. To lose weight I eat around 2000 calories a day. My TDEE is between 2300 and 2600.0

I am 5'9'' and in order for me to lose weight I eat 1200 calories a day. I weigh 180 right now (just started this diet Monday). I have done this once before and went from 186 to 155 eating the 1200 a day. Good luck!
Stop this immediately. This is not a healthy calorie amount for your weight.
Simple math: TDEE -20% = calories you should eat. Absolute minimum is your BMR.
Not true......Not for us fatties at least.0 -
I'm 5'11 and net 1200
My doctor wanted me to eat less than 1000, but I can't do that and it doesn't seem healthy. Not NET 1000 either, eat 1000 - and I workout hard six days a week.0 -
5'10" 149lbs, sedentary, 40-years-old, 1290 calories a day. Calculated TDEE is ~1750.
I've got a Bodymedia armband on the way (should be here tomorrow), and I'm hoping I'll learn that my TDEE is higher than that.
At 30-years-old my calculated TDEE was around 2300. How things change as we age, and I was only slightly more active.0 -

I would suggest getting a new doctor or at least a second opinion. There is no way that is healthy, especially for us large and tall ladies. Such a drastic change cannot be a good idea.0 -
It saddens me to see that so many tall ladies are eating so little. This is not a race and doesn't need to happen quickly...taking things slowly teaches you how to make lasting changes as you learn how to eat healthy rather than crash dieting and starving your body only to binge later as you've cut everything you enjoy completely out.
I've lost an average of 0.8 lbs per week for 15 months putting me at 45 lbs lost...went from 203 lbs to my current 157 lbs and I've never eaten less than 1750 cals. Now that I'm pretty close to my goal, I eat at LEAST 2070 cals per day, more on days where I have a higher calorie burn.0 -

Its not a race but its also not a one size fits all approach. You are 32 years old of course you are going to require more cals than someone like myself who is 44. You cant just say we should all be eating more, its not the case!0 -
I'm 5'10. I've gone from 178 to 166 (12lbs) in about 2 months. I'm netting about 1500 calories. I started with a net of 1200 calories and was losing VERY slowly. A few weeks ago I bumped up to 1500 calories and have been losing 1-1.5lb/week.0

So true. I lost 60lbs at 30-years-old while eating 1750 calories a day. My calculated TDEE to maintain my goal weight now (at 40-years-old) will be 1623. My activity level was higher at 30 as I walked to work and back (45 minutes each way), which I do not do now as it isn't feasible. But other than that, the only thing that has changed is my age.0 -
I just used Scooby's TDEE calculator to see what would happen to my TDEE if I were 5' tall (ten inches shorter than what I am).
1728 is the number returned based on my present stats
1675 is the number returned based on my present weight, age, and activity level, but at 5 feet tall, instead of 5'10" tall.
The difference is 53 calories. With all factors but height being equal, the difference in TDEE works out to 5.3 calories per inch of height.
It suggests to me that other factors are exerting more influence on TDEE than height.0 -
I am 5'11 and I net 1600. Somedays I am eating well over 2000. I am currently 207 and want to be 160. I am set to lose 1.5 pounds a week. I have lost 18 since Jan 1st.0

Im 5'10" and today im about 180 lbs. I have a Bodymedia Fit, which I recommend to anyone just because it tells you what number calories you burned in a day. It's meant to be pretty accurate and its so worth knowing that number. So its not guesswork what you're doing. 1200 calories was never enough for me, and with the BMF armband I can exercise more and eat more, which is just a better all-around plan. Most days I burn around 2500 calories and eat around 1500. More on days I do more. On the few days I burn very little calories, I still eat 1200 calories minimum but that just sucks so much I'd rather go for a walk and eat more. The armband allows you to adjust as you go throughout the day. Still hungry? Eat more, exercise more.
I basically went into this with the #1 rule that I will not starve myself.
Because I've been on 1200 calorie diets and suffered and if I lost any weight, I eventually would go crazy and then binge eat and never come back to it. It's no way to live.0 -

Mine just arrived.
I think it has totally gubered my stats for today, but I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what I should be eating over the next few days. :bigsmile:0 -
I have been working out/ logging for 12 weeks now .. I eat between 1400-1600 a day and burn 450-600 cals/6 days a week at the gym. I have consistently lost an avg of 2 lbs a week (after the first few weeks). I am down 35 lbs in these 12 weeks..0

MFP has me at 1690 a day which is pretty much my BMR. Im currently going to the gym for 50 mins 3 times a week going 15 min cardio and about 30 min weights. Do any of you lift weights? I log my 15 mins of cardio, but the weights obviously don’t show up any calories burn on MFP so I don’t even enter them.
Do you think if I NET 2000 calories on my 3 work out days…with my 50 min work out sounds good? I am 5 10 and 84kg (185lbs) I want to lose 30 pounds. Or should I just stick to the 1690 per day and just eat back my calories on work out days?0
